Yeah I'll wait until last minute of July 31st for Pre-Order. Maybe I have more information and lucidity by then.

Rockstars explanation makes total sense. You will have different people wanting to buy different versions (Standard, Special, Ultimate / digital, physical) in addition to the Collector's Box.

yeah i agree also would be great if you wanna buy it later like a year or so and it may be cheaper also you don't have 2 RDR 2 copies

Agreed. I actually prefer it that way with the collectors mementos being sold separately from the game. I do think there is legitimate criticism of the special/ultimate editions, namely their prices and the extra bank robbery and gang hideout not being part of the base game.

Gotta download that bank robbery for a dollar two years after the game is released

Yeah on the one hand they are not as scummy as Ubisoft selling a bunch of different versions mixing different exclusive digital and physical content. In this case R* has made one edition with physical goodies (where you can decide what version of the game you want to buy in addition), one with extra story mode content and one with the story mode content plus some online content and Pre-order bonuses for all versions.

With this premise alone I would be fine.

My justified criticism is caused by the price of the Special and Ultimate Edition and the content they include. The UE is the best example: I for one am not strictly against content being locked behind a paywall at launch, but it needs to be done right. In this case it is a 30$ paywall, which is way too expensive. Everyone who does not see this is a lunatic. If it was 10$ and would inlcude some outfits and weapons like GTAVs Special Edition, it would be fine. But it's 30$ and includes some more relevant content, but at the same time it's not worth the price. You are literally paying half the price of the original game extra for some goodies, but at the same time they are exciting goodies and you won't get the complete experience for 70$. And you even have exclusive content for digital that is time-limited, which is a bummer for those who planned to get the physical copy. Do they now need to buy both the digital and physical version to get all in-game content?

Again, everybody who does not understand this valid criticism is a corporate slave, period.

I'm still holding out hope....let's wait until more website previews or a gameplay trailer before we give up on fishing...LOL.

One of the previews saw fishing in action. Already confirmed.

Amazon updated their listing to show the pre-order bonuses. Given that RDR2 hasn't been available on Amazon since 2016 when it sold out super quickly, my guess is that they're going to update their listing soon to add the Special Edition and Ultimate Edition and to also make the Standard Edition available again.

Precisely, and that's the worst part. In the case of the special edition I don't want to miss out on the extra bank robbery and gang hideout, but ultimately the additional content is minimal and no way worth £20. If I go for the standard edition I will feel I have made the sensible choice, but regret not being able to do the exclusive robbery and gang hideout; if I go for the special edition I won't regret missing out on any content, but will regret spending an additional £20 for something worth no more than about £5.

Every major developer is doing this kind of thing now, I see more and more of it every year so I'm not surprised, I suppose I just lament the fact this is the trend. I guess games are more expensive to make these days, and this kind of business practice is a way of bringing in more money to make up for that deficit. They should just increase the price of the base game instead. I don't think people would mind. People do mind this kind of awkward sh*t though.

Now I’m really curious about the prison. Why is it marked as a settlement? Hope it’s used as part of gameplay.

It would be cool if in part of the story Arthur gets arrested and spends some time in prison.

What if the game opens with Arthur in prison? I doubt they do that though the first couple of minutes are important and new players could get bored quickly.

No, it was one of the translated articles. Can't remember which one but it was along the lines of "Arthur can leave the camp to engage in other activities such as fishing, hunting, etc."

RockstarGames have already said these are collector pieces, not mandatory and don't hold any weight when talking about the different editions. Look at all that cool sh*t you get for a punk ass $100.. Ay to each your own, Idgaf $190 is no problem if you ask me, for a game that will be the talk of the next 5 to 10 years? where do i sign?

f*ck ,THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE AMAZING!

War horse had the best stats overall in the last game. It sprinted as fast as an American Standardbred but it's running speed was slower closer to a Kentucky Saddler, and it had the stamina of the Saddler. It was also the most durable horse, able to take a lot more gunfire than the other horses.

Maybe the War horse willl just be a tough sonofabitch in this game though

Hey guys, I wanted to share some thoughts on how crouching will work in RDR2.

I apologise in advance for the terrible quality of the images I'm about to share, but hopefully they'll demonstrate my point.

The first image is a picture of Niko in GTA IV moving while in crouch mode

QR0iHKU.jpg

This second image is a screen shot from RDR2 released today. Apologies for how small it is lol.

PS6lYZL.jpg

Notice the way Arthur and the other guy are positioned in the second image? Very similar to how Niko is while moving in crouch mode. They might even be hunkered down slightly lower than Niko, I can't tell. Certainly nothing definitive, but could be an indication that a crouching system similar to that in GTA IV will be implemented in RDR2 as opposed to the "stealth mode" that replaced crouching in GTA V.

What do you guys think?

To be honest we don't even know if that screenshot is gameplay or a cut-scene so it's kind of hard to say if crouching is confirmed or not. Yes, Arthur is definitely crouching but will that also be in the gameplay? This is what happens when a game developer is so tight-lipped about their game, they leave their fans/consumers in the dark in terms of what they are buying.

That said, i hope crouching will be in the game. I also hope Rockstar fired the guy who thought replacing crouch with "sneak" was a good idea.

War horse was not a draft type horse in the first game.

Actually there were no different horse builds in RDR, all horses had identical body type.

Now, as far as thoroughbreds, we all know that they are the real race horses.

In fact if your horse is not a registered thoroughbred, you cannot even enter it in an official horse race in real life.

I expect a big difference in acceleration and speed between the two.

Yes, I know, I'm just saying that now that we can see that in this game the War horse is a draft horse I don't expect it to be speedy at all and on the other hand the thoroughbred might be the fastest in the game.

So seeing that the warhorse is massive, this confirms that some horses will not only be bulkier but taller and overall bigger than other horses too, right? We saw in the first trailer that the bison come in different shapes indicating that they are different ages and have different builds. Arthur looks so small on the warhorse. It's huge!
