Hi Folks! Just wanted to pop by and inform you that I'm talking news , speculation and what not about RDR2 via YouTube.

You can find me via -

https://m.youtube.com/channel/UClEASBYY2oUenCoRFtrwmig/featured

I will also mention that I'm not a career YouTuber. So they may affect my new info uploads but they will release asap. I'd be really greatful if you stopped by and checked it all out.

To add to this topic while I'm here I'm definitely hyped for RDR2 and can't wait to see where it all goes.

The Arthur Morgan character is something I'm finding vast interest in because he was purely made as eyes to watch John and Dutch but Rockstar have developed him into a fully fledged character. It's also intriguing how they don't expect people to agree with the character in all aspects.

It'll be cool to have those horse quick steal and side jault. And the gun mechanics could be quite complex. The ability for dead eye, fanning, draw non lethal and drawing lethal.

I know there were no radios in that time. But wouldnt it be cool/funny to drive a wagon and in the back is a little band (if you go to the south its a mariachi band) and you could tell them what song they should play. Like in AC: Blackflag were you could tell your crew to sing a certain shantie

Going down south in RDR2 is not going to be what you think it is.

According to this leaked map that has all but been confirmed by now, there is no mexico apart from a small island that will probably only be used for backstory missions and won't be accessible otherwise.

Or you know, just a gramophone and just change the recording lol

Considering they're focusing on realism, I'm hopeful that the day/night cycle will last a lot longer than 48 mins this time around.

I would like to see more pictures of the snowy parts of the game.

I'd like to see more of the very few areas they've shown so far. I guess this will leave much of the map as a surprise. Still curious about that bayou area in the southeast part of the map.

Zelnick stated that there are over 1000 people working on RDR2. So I searched up a little bit and I found that there were over 1000 people worked on GTA V too.

Just a fact for yall: Which surprises me that there were over 1000 people worked on ACIV: Black Flag too...

After watching the Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V trailers, I can assure you, Red Dead Redemption 2 will have no competition in October.

Both franchises are killing themselves right now.

Started watching hell on wheels again today. Forgot how good this show was, but f*ck me every scene has my imagination ablaze for possible things to do when I'm playing RDR2.

God even seeing Cullen walk along the trail leading his horse by the reins has got me hype.

Like " ohh yeeaah I'll be able to do that too."

I missed the feeling of anticipation of a new rockstar release. Only company that can get me this excited, and it's getting stronger day by day.

I still can't wrap my head around all the details we have; let alone the countless ones we don't. I have a feeling this game is going to make my brain explode come release day.

Well Dutch does have a gramophone in his tent. Maybe you can buy wax tubes or early 78s and listen to these hits from around 1899:

And maybe this even if it is too late.

But I hope we can hear some ragtime in NB

Plot twist: We find out there's 1200 people working on RDR2 marketing. And look how that's going.

For comparison, the GTAV marketing budget was BIGGER than the development budget. I'm never, ever going to forget that.

I mean, as much as us fans hate their marketing, GTAV is the highest grossing entertainment property of all time so the marketing team must be doing something right.

I've been thinking the same since they anounced it, and it being the release date that it is, it probably will be delayed. I have a feeling we'll be looking at a june 2019 release. I hope I'm wrong and the release date is indeed "set in stone" as various reports seem to indicate... but I'm not holding my breath, this is still C* we're talking about.

What do you guys prefer, RDR or GTA? I personally like riding my horse in the wilderness over driving a car in a very busy city with a lot of buildings. The openness of the wild west gives me a good sense of adventure along with the wildlife and nature in general. Do you think RDR 2 will be game of the year?

I prefer the setting of GTA, I was never really too into Westerns.

For everything else gameplay-wise I prefer Red Dead though, and feel it's a superior to GTAV for what it is

But the Zelnick: Take-Two says 'Red Dead Redemption 2’ will definitely not be delayed again

“When I say, ‘hand on heart,’ it’s over 1,000 people at Rockstar Games with hands on their hearts,” Zelnick added.

In Rockstar's defense, they did finally hold the fall 2013 date for GTAV.

I'd suggest that they put all efforts into getting RDR2 single player bug-free and released on time, 26 October, and then they can dick around trying to get RDR Online to work right for 2 months, 6 months later, whatever.

Here's an idea. What's everyone's IDEAL ending for RDR2?

My ideal would be such. Game starts in 1911, you play as Arthur, old and run-down, living under a new identity and in hiding. He is out hunting or something and you hear someone approach... It's John. He's tracked Arthur down and wants to take him in. Arthur knows what will happen if he gives up, and refuses. John says he can't let him go because Ross has his family. Arthur sympathizes, but still refuses. He challenges John to a duel. The winner lives, and the loser will be in no position to argue. The camera pans behind Arthur, you take aim for him, he pulls his gun, and then... fade to black... title card.

You play through the game and progress all the way through to the Heist on the ferry in 1906. Tensions in the gang are at their apex. John gets shot and left for dead. This is the last straw for Arthur. Dutch has gone too far leaving John like that! Arthur abandons the gang and goes on the run, trying to cover his tracks. But he can't cover them well enough. Flash forward to 1911... John and Arthur square up for their duel, but this time, the camera pans in the other direction... you now control John. You can either kill Arthur, shoot the gun out of his hand and take him in, or do the same and let him go. John will tell Ross he buried Arthur or something. After Arthur is dealt with, you take control of John and an objective pops up saying "Meet with Agent Ross." You get to the marker on the map... and you board a ferry to cross the river. Credits roll, "Exodus in America" starts playing, and the game ends right where the first one started.

This next part is a MASSIVE stretch, but it would basically make RDR2 Game of the Year, EVERY YEAR if Rockstar actually did it.

After the credits end, a message pops up in the main menu saying "You've unlocked the story of John Marston. Start a new game and select this new chapter." You boot it up and........ Red Dead Redemption Remastered.

Here's an idea. What's everyone's IDEAL ending for RDR2?

.

I may end up adding to this post later on because there are so many possible endings I've imagined over the past two years that I really don't know where to start.

The one thing I want though besides multiple endings (even though it seems a little redundant given that the title has the word "Redemption" in it.) is an ending where nothing really drastic happens to Arthur or the gang and life just seems to carry on as it were. They either outsmart or outrun their enemies. My reasoning behind this is of course given that it is an open world and they'll certainly allow you to continue play after you beat the main story, I'd like to have an ending that "molds" into allowing you to do that. For example GTAVs "third way" mission allowed you to kill off all of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor's enemies and then they just go on with life the way it was.

This is just my personal opinion but I hate games that force one big dramatic thing at the end with no choice out of it that changes the way the game is seen or played in a way. Games like far cry 5 where "going back" into the open world is basically

reloading a save before the catastrophic end.

Or RDR forcing johns death but allowing you to play as jack "years later" in an unchanged world. As much as I love and understand RDRs ending, I always kept my save point just before the end, so I could stay in the world the way I thought it was meant to be.

Is this making any sense? I guess the easiest way to say it is ifthe game has multiple I want a "happy" ending of sorts where I can continue to play as Arthur without any overly dramatic changes to the world that breaks the immersion and connections I've been building throughout the story.

I know this will be almost impossible due to the fact we know how things end in 1911 but I still think there's a way to work it considering there's 12 years in between. Of course though it depends strongly upon the story here which we know very little about.

I wonder how much items Arthur can carry in his little bag.

Are we going to have to choose between explosives or throwing knives as well?

I already posted this in the Sadie thread, but again, I believe this may have some relevance to the story as a whole, so here you go.

Anyone else find this interesting? While scouring trailer 3 for more undiscovered clues/hints, I noticed that Sadie wears a very distinctive belt buckle. At first I thought it maybe resembled a buckle that a lawman might wear(not too well-versed in belt history lol).

After some light research however, I found what looks like a fairly close match - Texas star Civil War belt plates.

I wonder what this could mean for her backstory, maybe it's from a relative that served in the War?

Point is Red Dead is gonna be way bigger and better

No it's going to be very small. Once you start the game it's just going to be about looking at an old painting hanging on the wall of some mountains or a forrest until the credits roll.
