Also another interesting thing that I saw in the French preview that I don't recall anyone mentioning was that Rockstar in Edinburgh has around 600 developers on staff. Must mean RDR2's being developed in total by at least 1,000-2,000 people.

Some speculation about the game from me:

 

- Story is gonna play out over a few years

 

- I don't believe Rockstar 100% that we're just gonna play as Morgan. First off, they wouldnt reveal such a spoiler and secondly I believe it could be possible

that Morgan dies and we play as John after the main story ended. Either Dutch kills Morgan or even John himself does it for some reason. This is pure speculation though. I personally hope that Morgan survives and we keep playing as him. In RDR1 the switch to Jack was annoying in my opinion.

I just have a feeling that Morgan surviving the whole RDR2 story isn't 100% sure.

Why did Dee get banned, again? Lol

Apparently the staff found out he was the one behind Raiden, the "insider" from 2 years ago spreading b.s. on reddit and GAF abou5 RDR2 being announced at E3. I don't recall Raiden posting here but I guess (It's spelled Raavi, go edit your post) or whoever wasn't happy?

 

So he got permabanned and i guess dropped the news he was Pinkerton Spy too. Lmao

 

 

That's dumb. Mods here are responsible of policing users' behaviour on this website only. If that's the real reason, then he clearly went on some power trip.

I just really hope that we could change the game camera because we couldn't in Red Dead Redemption 1 :\

i like the camera in RDR, the fact it stays where you put it and dosnt float back to a central height or location relative to the horse was good

 

i always find the set camera heights in gtaV either slightly too low or high depending on zoom and if i could adjust it with the right stick and it stay instead of floating back it would rock

I remembered it and was going to throw it up at him one time when he was annoying me. But I didn't in the end because I really didn't know all that much about it.

 

Obviously Raiden and DeeDogg are MGS characters so that all adds up now!

 

But as to Pinkerton Spy?!? Whoever that was just seemed too polite to be Dee!!

Will there be an option to change the game camera to first person and other views or are we stuck with just seeing the top half view of Arthur like seen in the demo and in God of War for example? I personally prefer when you see the entire person. I hope this will be the default view!

I am sure it will have the normal 3rd person view just like every other Rockstar game.

Physics-wise I assume they're going to go for something more realistic than Redemption. I'm thinking a blend of Redemption and GTA V would be best. I loved people grabbing wounds in Redemption but hated how weightless and ragdoll looking people could get. Also the stupid way NPC's would stumble around like they're drunk as hell when they get shot. It was like your bullets were loaded with some kind of super alcohol or something. And everyone sold headshots like they were Ric Flair, staying on their feet for way too long before flopping down.

Nah they just reacted better to being shot. I think V's shootouts were the most boring out of any Rockstar game.

The bodies had the weight of a car, that's not realistic at all.

The grabbing wounds bit maybe, but stumbling about like one of the Three Stooges with a head injury is not a great reaction to being shot in the torso.

 

To me GTA V's characters had the weight of a 100+ pound person rather than a 10 pound ragdoll. Redemption was like shooting a lifesize Woody from Toy Story come to life.

 

There was more clarity in GTA V's shootouts too. In Redemption you had to double tap everyone before you moved onto the next guy because it was impossible to tell if you actually killed the guy and he was just over acting the hell out of it or if he was just stumbling around for a bit before returning fire.

 

At the end of the day how people react to getting shot is less important to me than how the playable character works. I just hope they improve on character movement/control over the last one. No more stumbling and turning into a ragdoll because hills are a little too steep.

They don't stumble around after being shot in the torso, I don't know where you're getting this from but maybe you should play it again some time?

The bodies actually have weight in RDR, just a realistic amount and not that of a bus.

I'd rather see people reacting to being shot than just standing there not doing anything and then dropping with their arms by their side like they've been propped up for you. That's boring and doesn't make any sense.

You don't have to double tap, just shoot them in an area that would kill them

They're nowhere near as annoying as V, where NPC's spend more time laying on the floor shooting at you more than on their feet!

If you can shoot someone in the foot and they're instantly dead then there's something not quite right at all.

The first 5 minutes of this video disproves a few of ytour points. NPCs in GTAV lay on the ground and react to being shot in the foot by holding their leg. In RDR they get up and limp away.

Again, RDR was great for 2010, and still looks really good, but I think the hype around physics is mostly from nostalgia.

I'm curious to know what's in the collectors edition. I'm also hoping Gamestop will let me switch my pre-order to the collectors edition if it has any appealing goodies that come with it.

 

I think we'll get a batch of new screenshots with the collectors edition news, and maybe a date for a gameplay trailer.
