Red Dead Redemption 2: Discussion & Speculation (Part 2)

All this talk about John Marston's place in RDR2 made me realize, there was no way that Rockstar would make RDR2 without bringing back Marston. This would guarantee that every gamer who had ever played RDR would be compelled to buy RDR2, due to the force of nostalgia and the need for completeness. It immediately creates a successful market base for RDR2, even if new gamers didn't pick it up.

 

So then I thought, why didn't Rockstar use this same logic for GTAV, and bring back CJ? I'm sure many of us are still bent about that.

I really hope that we get single player DLC. My ideas are Undead Nightmare 2, Cowboys vs. Aliens and Arthur's journey after he saves John when he's left for dead. Arthur manages to flee after saving John and avoids being killed off by Dutch. John flees also and him and Arthur go their separate ways. Because of Dutch going insane, it results in many gang members being killed such as Sadie, Micah, Charles, Hosea and others unfortunately Obviously these are my ideas and they haven't been confirmed yet.

You've made me think that maybe someone nearby will go for arthur, it seems likely, and it's not the typical ending, maybe there's something about those things.

My guess is that you are ordered by Dutch to shoot Marston in the back during the robbery of 1906

 

Here you have three options:

- Do it, after which you will switch to John just before his hunt of Bill and Arthur is the first to die by John's hand.

- Don't do it and John is shot by Dutch. Arthur flees the scene, followed by Law Enforcement and/or the Van der Linde gang, and rides away to Mexico.

- Attack Dutch, in which Arthur will be shot along with John. Arthur dies right there and John never knew Arthur came to his aid...

Good thoughts. And since we already know the future, it's certain that RDR2 will have to end as a cutscene that sets up that future.

 

 

 

I don't like that. I didn't like the RDR final mission cutscene that left us no choice, either. I saved a branch of RDR just before that final mission, so John is still alive, and that is the branch I always used for replay. The hell with playing as Jack. What a letdown that was.

Radio characters are cross universe, everything else isnt.

For each era there is a different universe: Top Down, 3d, HD.

Lazlow wasnt a physical character in the 3d games, so he could apear in V.

Was just watching the mission where John drops off some corn to Bonnie with Abigail.

 

On the way there during the dialogue they're talking about Dutch and Bill and how they left John for dead. She mentions something about how john knew the truth and suggests thats the reason he was left for dead.

 

I wonder what this is about.

Why do everyone think Arthur will die in the end? Do you guys really think they will repeat what they did in the first?

I can kind of see it honestly. I love R* stories but you have to admit that there are a lot of similarities between them.

Devs go out of they're way to hire not 1 but at times multiple writers whenn creating a story. There is a art to story telling, creativity is key. I'm really pulling for an Aliens DLC. Would keep with the B-movie vibe of Undead Nightmare and feel fresh. I also may or may not really want to see Arthur gunning down Martians with a Laser Rifle.
