I think this is one of the camera angles used in the interaction with NPCs.

exclusiva-red-dead-redemption-2-14.jpg

How have I never seen this screenshot? Like really, I haven't seen it anywhere and I'm constantly looking at them. Weird I have never seen this one or anyone posting it anywhere. Huh perhaps I need to get my eyes checked.

Side note: come October 26th if a muhf*cker come ridin' up on me with that street howitzer locked cocked and ready to rock, I'm putting two in his head first and worrying about what he wanted later. Ain't no body got no manners. Be riding up on someone with a shotgun.

It's interesting that most of these backlight screenshots have the same pale yellow monochrome cast to them. They look great, artistic.

I'm hoping and assuming that the wonderful lighting models in GTAV and RDR will be just as great, and that lighting like this will naturally be present under the right conditions during gameplay.

I hope the interaction is not corny, where it stops the game and makes you choose like your playing jeopardy or some crap.

Also I know this is way off topic and if it gets moved it is what it is....but I'm not sure where I'd find this out otherwise.. So apologies in advance.

does anyone know if there's a way to "center" my signature gif? I just added one for the first time and it being on the left side is driving my OCD crazy lmao.

Sorry for the dumb question but I don't know if it's a size thing or what, I've never messed around with anything like that before. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get it posted right in the first place.

I agree it looks like a fantastic sunrise/sunset but for some reason I can't shake the fact this looks like the filter they used for RDRs dead eye, and so I wonder if that's what this is hinting at? Arthur getting ready to put this dude down?

I dont Think it'll be like that at all one of the previews mentioned how they put the interactions on the trigger and face buttons so that you wouldn't have to stop walking or whatever you were doing to interact with someone. If they walk past you and say "good morning sir" you can reply all while continuing to walk past in the opposite direction.

So no worries there. :)

Choose the "Center" option in the format options:

Arthur's and John's ghost appears at Franklin's house in Vinewood at the end of the game saying: "You're a good kid, Franklin"

It looks like Jack Marston wears Arthur's beige jacket in 1914

RDR2_Screenshot-041_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqNJ

Not the same jacket, but a very similar looking jacket

Jack copied every last bit of his style from others

Jack Probably looked up to Arthur more when he was younger.

I was thinking about how John berated Uncle and then i was wondering if maybe he picked that up from Dutch or arthur if he got berated in the prequel. then i was thinking if when we get the game if we can see where John gets some of his social and leadership skills where they might've rubbed off from Dutch or Arthur(retroactively, of course, since he didnt exist until RDR2).

Then I started thinking about how if R* made this game right then it could make a play-through of RDR afterwards feel like a brand new experience because of how it might change large parts of the story and how people act together. They just have to be careful about doing these things retroactively and doing them to such an extent that they put the whole first game in a different light.

I for one would like an ending where arthur and jack meet. That would be badass. It would be sh*t if arhur dies and we play as marston rockstar already did this i hope they dont do this again. Maybe as a dlc but not part of the story but who knows!

I always felt as though they were destined to make a prequel, so many stones were left unturned. So many questions about John and his gang were left unanswered. The whole time I played RDR for their first time I kept expecting to see some sort of flashback mission or mission that would show you exactly who these men were but it never happened. I mean you spend the whole game pretty much knowing dick about who you were hunting except for they were johns old friends.

I mean I understand that you were chasing them for the whole game, so having constant interactions with Dutch, Bill, or Javier made no sense, but I feel like they left that part of the story out on purpose. They could've incorporated so much more if they chose to.

So yes cozzi I have to agree that at least part of the motive here is to change how you perceive the original story and like I said yesterday, I won't consider my RDR2 play through finished until I complete RDR one last time.

I can't wait to hunt down bill one last time, but this time with some actual emotion involved. Because I'll know him all that much better.

I feel as though that was a major fault in RDR. They sent you as this character, to hunt down your former brothers, which for John should be rightfully emotional but for the player it was more like "meh, whatever. I don't even know who this dude is really."

As opposed to GTA IV where when you had to choose the deaths of certain characters you felt a connection to it, because you spent a good part of the story either with them or chasing them respectively.

I'll never forget that first time catching up to dimitri on the platypus. By that point I felt nikos rage as if it were my own.

Did they mention that uncle was part of the gang in rdr1?

Yes, but only in alternate dialogue for "A Continual Feast"

0:40 - 0:47

Good question. Maybe? I can't wait to see how they are with each other in Red Dead Redemption II. Uncle does have some loyalty in him.

He gave his life by trying to protect Abigail and Jack after all so he cares in a way and is not only known to hit a bottle.

Lmfao guys, I was scrolling through the comments on R* rdr2 Instagram screenshots (always good for a laugh)

And I see this (paraphrasing of course)

Some kid: what the hell is red dead 2? We didn't even have a red dead 1 yet! Smh cmon rockstar we want GTA6 not this crap!

Fact that the GTAV children aren't interested in the game seems more like good news than anything.

Oh well, more for the rest of us! ;)

I better be able to bash out some sweet tunes on the pianos in saloons after shooting the pianist the back of the head, thats what kept rdr from being a true masterpiece

There better be an option for better Honor scoring, where we can politely ask the piano player, "Hey, man, you've been at this all year, every time I come in here. Why don't you take a break, have a drink on me, and I'll entertain these worthless yahoos for a while?"

There's still time, Rockstar, give us a Piano Hero minigame!

Honestly, the saloon piano player should be a prime example of NPCs having their own routine.

He should not be there all day long, maybe the saloon gets emptier in the middle of the night, and the piano is quiet from then to the afternoon or something.

Hey guys what if at the end of rdr2 it does a jump to 1911 right after John dies and Arthur finds out and visits jack and starts training him to make up for the events that happened to john. It could make sense considering jack was able to get his skills so shortly, i mean someone had to train him.

Thoughts?

Nothing new, next bit of info and movement from Rockstar is the collectors edition / pre-order stuff sometime next month.

Could be interesting. Like Arthur comes back from south America. Finds out what happened and explains to Jack what kind of man his father was, and trains him.

But I feel that Jack trained himself for his moment with Edgar.

I hope this time around we can use maybe a bottle in a saloon and introduce it to someone's head. Ah, who am I kidding? That's no fun ammirite?

Ooooh I see. Yeah I asked this because in my Recommended list on YouTube i saw one video apparently about the very first mission in the game. Why you'd wanna spoil that for yourself I don't know. And just now a new video from Legacy, so for a sec I thought there was brand new stuff.

They could fill in what happened between 1911 and 1914. Maybe Jack goes to South America to find Arthur.

Word. :^: This wrecks the open world for me. I can't stand Fallout or Skyrim for that reason. LA Noire also seemed too "gamelike" due to the mode changes, to find clues and question witnesses.
