Trailers are designed to throw people for a loop. All you have to do is listen to dutch from rdr and beginning of trailer 2. Fire guys has a much more raspy voice and doesnt have that southern accent like dutch imo. Im not speaking on this anymore, we will see come October.

I don't believe for a second Dutch would say something like "You have to love yourself a fire, it's where the blessing is" when the last thing he wants is for him and his gang to be consumed by that very fire.

 

He's saying "it's one of the blessings," not "it's where the blessing is." And I'm about 90% sure it's Dutch.

Listen to the very end where it goes from "stay with me" to "you got to love yourself a fire". It sounds different enough that it could be someone else.

 

I hope so. I want there to be a few mystery characters and really don't want to know anymore about the story until game time.

I don't expect a GI cover now, might happen later on after E3 but not now I don't think. Still interested to see what it is though, they didn't announce it in the first week of the month like they usually do so it could be something juicy still.

And it wouldn't even make sense if that were the line; the line would be "It's one of its blessings." But he doesn't say that either.

people can change the way their voice sounds yknow This is a game, as a voice actor your paid to sound the way they are paying you to sound. As a director, i would be like why do you sound like that? I need you to sound like this.. When the cast people they don't tell them sound however you like. Your in character, and have to stay in character. That means sounding the same too. Imagine if john broke character and sounded like his real self.

"You have to love yourself a fire" is said twice in the trailer, once at the 0:52 mark and then twice at 1:52, both exactly a minute apart. So... I'm not sure which time you're all referring to?

 

The first time I'm pretty sure It's Dutch, after all he was shouting all through RDR and this was muttered in a subdued mannered. It could just be we don't recognise his hushed voice.

 

The second time I myself am having reservations since it doesn't sound much like the first voice but people speak differently under different circumstances and it may be a mantra of Dutch.

If it isn't Dutch saying it at 1:52 then I expect it's somebody Dutch leaves an impression on; John and Arthur are the most likely culprits for that.

Man I am replaying RDR recently and just looking to the landscape north of Blackwater just gets me excited. Knowing we will get to explore it and its just there waiting for us is hyping me up

Man I am replaying RDR recently and just looking to the landscape north of Blackwater just gets me excited. Knowing we will get to explore it and its just there waiting for us is hyping me up

I know! I remember all the way back in 2010 playing RDR for the first time, when you open the map you can see a part of that Northern Territory but you can't go there. I remember thinking (because I love mountains and sh*t) "I wish I could go there!" I always thought how they left a sliver of it visible meant it would be a dlc or something but nope.

 

Now when I go back and replay RDR for like the thousandth time I get all giddy just thinking about all the possibliies up there.

 

As excited as I am to play RDR2 oddly I'm just as excited to replay RDR one last time after I beat RDR2, and I won't consider my RDR2 play through complete until doing so. It's the perfect way to end it. Johns story with all the plot holes filled in. I've been waiting a decade to do exactly this!

 

EDIT I can't help but wonder though,as many have said, if these two worlds are that close together and we get to revist blackwater, how exactly do they plan on keeping us out of thieves landing and then onto armadillo? I wonder if they do the old "f*cking outlaws there's been a big scare and you can't get across the bridges so good" trick.

I kinda doubt it.

 

I believe Game Informer would receive, exclusive new info.

And maybe even be allowed to go hands on with the game.

 

Or maybe their cover is Red Dead Online.

 

Or maybe it is another Rocksteady game.
