What happens if the story gets half assed guys?

Then RDO until the next rockstar game. And last of us 2

I was thinking some of the previews have hinted towards better gunshot reaction physics. Even the IGN video where they describe how the deer reacted to the arrow. It falls over, the other deer run away, the deer that the arrow pierced gets up to run away but begins limping. They then track the blood to the deer who is laying down and crying and yelping in pain and they describe Arthur crouching down to put it out of its misery with his knife. That to me sounds like theyve put a lot of effort into the physics and the way AI react to pain. If they put that much effort into the damn deer, then they must have something big to show for shooting people.

It won't be. Every Rockstar studio + 8 years. And they spent 6 years to work on AI. They wouldn't focus this much on AI for RDO. And All they've shown is about the story. I don't see how it would be half-assed.

Yezzir, All i ask is if im shot, i want to look like it (limp, hold stomach or wound) not just walk off like everything is fine, bloody & riddled with bullet holes.

If the story is half assed i just wait for online, simple.

Predictions for the GI cover reveal tomorrow ? Pretty sure RDR2 is a slim to none chance.

Bethesda or some indie game we have never heard about

I guess where the concern would start is the fact that while boasting it was 8+ years of development it couldve very well been 3-4, Im not saying that this isnt the case, Im just saying that weve heard the claim that V was being developed when IV came out and it shows very little.

I guess where the second concern comes from is basing the story from the description and trailers, When V yet again did this and the story was well.. not developed and fell apart shortly after starting. I hope Im wrong on this because the story looks very interesting on lots of fronts, I just want it to evoke the very emotion that the first one had, because this game has a lot riding on it.

Again I hope my doubts are nothing but as you can see V left a sour taste in mine and Im pretty sure lots of you guys mouth.

They never said what type of DLC it would be though. A DLC can be anything they want it to be

Also...

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51955/GTA-Online-Update-Free-Deathmatch-Race-Creators-this

GTAV Story Mode Updates. For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.

They said updates I'm beating a dead horse here I used to argue about this everyday here lol. Updates. Not DLC but Updates. Those updates probably became the returning player bonus for PS4/XB1

I really don't believe they meant returning player bonuses when they said that.

"Big plans", "substantial additions", "mayhem and unexpected adventures" probably don't refer to some new cars, the peyote plants, or the murder mystery. And all these contents were exclusives for the next gen GTA V, nothing for old gen. A person reading that in 2013 would reasonably believe GTA V for the PS3 and 360 would be getting a story update.

"For all those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V" probably doesn't mean "For all those ready to jump back into the story... IF YOU GET A PS4 or XBOX ONE"

If that's what Rockstar really meant, those are extremely poor choice of words.

Also weren't the leaked documents showing a cancelled Story Mode DLC pretty reliable? Admittedly I never followed that news very closely, but even if those leaked documents are reliable or not, most reasonable people reading Rockstar's statement in 2013 would believe that a Story Mode DLC was coming.

Not to mention Shawn Fonteno doing mocap for the dlc, saying that it was “real big”. But yeah, it was just a monster truck and some photography lol /s

I'd have to say hearing about the Improved npc system, I'd definitely like to see them " interact" with Arthur for lack of a better word, I want to have a fear of being jumped and robbed by some random npc on the trail. To always have my guard up, a sense of danger in various ways. I feel as though games try to make things realistic by giving you things/People for you to interact with but they rarely give you people that interact with you.

know what I mean?

It's always you initiating, only the player who will kill and rob people, banks etc.

I'd like to see a system that makes me just as suspicious of the npcs as they are of me.

It can be as simple as If I'm camping out in the middle of nowhere and a dude comes up and asks to sit to keep warm. And that's it. Maybe he just rests, has a cup of joe, and talks. Maybe he tries to rob me. Maybe he recognizes me and doesn't say anything but a few days later Lawmen show up (if I stay in the same area because he reported me.)

I'd like it to be so that everytime I see someone out in the wilds I'm like "a'ight muhf*cker what are you up to? *puts hand on revolver*

Again I'm not saying this definitely has to be a thing or that I even believe it can or will be because I doubt it will be. I just think it would be cool and bring a higher level of immersion.

Who would call a remaster an "addition". I don't think any reasonable person behind marketing would call that a substantial "addition".

Substantial news makes sense, but "substantial addition" is just a very odd way of saying remaster.

Plus why would you refer to remaster as "substantial additions" when the newswire is clearly talking about the PS3 and 360 versions of the game?

Finally,

"And later this year, look for even more additions to both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, including more holiday-themed updates, some very exciting Story Mode DLC and much more."

Echoing a few pages back regarding Hardcore Mode returning for Single Player (that was only available in the GOTY Edition for Red Dead Redemption) I wouldn't mind it.

- Aiming is permanently set to Free Aim.

- Maximum health is reduced by half.

- Health regenerates more slowly and begins refilling after a longer delay.

- Dead-eye does not automatically fill over time. It must be earned by killing enemies or using items.

- Horses do not regenerate. If killed, you must purchase, steal, mount, or break another horse and then hitch it to a post to earn the right to call it by whistling.

- Store items cost more. Sell values are lowered.

- Reward/drops/looting amounts are lowered (ammunition and money).

- Pardon letters are more rare.

- Honor gains are reduced.

- Mini-game buy-ins are lowered to match the scarcity of money.

- Deadeye gained from kills, rather than over-time regeneration.

When they made the next gen editions the peyote plant hallucinations probably required them to go back and shoot a couple more scenes even if it's small. Shawn Fonteno has also been known to lie alot on his instagram posting old pics about GTA V and then pretending it's new.

I remember Shawn Fonteno sharing some pictures on instagram but never specifically saying mocap.

You mean this?

It's an old picture he's posted it a bunch of times it's probably from when GTA V was still in development and Fonteno is reminiscing about the past that's why he used the caption TBT.

also, is this rdr2 gen chat? i'm guessing this thread is a bit more restricted now if it's been renamed/merged. which is a shame because i quite liked discussing other western related media with my fellow outlaws.

I want to smoke and chew tobacco

Yes! That is one of the features I really hope is in it. I want to have a cigar in my mouth like Clint Eastwood.

We probably will be able to. But only at camp. Like when Franklin smoked weed at home.

I doubt smoking will be limited to the camp, we'll likely have cigars/cigarillos purchasable at general stores which we can use freely from our inventory.

Zello: GTA V and GTAO made 50% of all Take-Two Interactive's revenue and profit last quarter. The GTA franchise alone contribute 35% of Take-Two Interactive's revenue, profit, anfmd cash. The same reason a 20 years old subsidiary is the only one were it founding members are the only getting royalties every year since 2009. You do know Strauss Zelnick is chairman of the board and CEO are can split the company into two or three separate publicly traded companies or even rebrand it to align to all things Rockstar Games and it Studios if he wants to do so let say today. And NBA 2K makes them less money hence the joint venture NBA 2K League. Social Point is a rounding zero for a company doing $2B annually and Private Division is never going to be important (they don't even break mobile numbers).

quit drinking mate

I never drank or smoke in my life.....I am serious and tbh as an investor and self-made stock analyst I think it a great strategy for them in near future. Take-Two will not be seen as a "one trick pony (GTA company)" anymore, Rockstar Games can have it own shareholders that believe in waiting 5-8 years for unmatched gaming experience, the 2K brand can becoming the biggest in esports and all three can grow exponentially as separate independent publicly traded companies. I think I am now becoming a fan of corporate spin-off.

Rockstar Games absorbing the 2K Games and Studios part of 2K than not 2K Sports and Visual Concepts, and also absorbing Private Division and Social Point will make Rockstar Studios a group of 21 development studios or offices, the only game company than will rival in terms of development studios a publicly traded Rockstar Games will be Ubisoft with 29-30 studios. Currently, as a publishing label subsidiary it have 9 studios while 2K (Games and Sports) have 7 studios, Private Division have offices in 3 locations, Social Point have 2 studios (Barcelona and Tokyo). Rockstar Studios currently have 1,500 game developers if the get the other studios that 3,000 game developers.

A publicly traded Rockstar Games will be to wall street and gaming how Ferrari or Apple are to wall street and cars or tech 😎

I don't know if it's confirmed that treasure hunting will be in the game, but it would be aweseome if they didn't give us any hints to where they are. Let us be forced to explore the whole map like you are an actual treasure hunter.
