That usually tends to happen when the your output for the last 5 years have been nonstop GTAO updates, cancelling SP DLC, and delaying their newest game multiple times. Thankfully now, things are looking up

Well I predicted from the very first piece of artwork that this was a prequel about Dutchs gang, so your theory does not really holdup. Plenty of people have predicted things about the game that turned out to be right

Going on youtube and seeing three videos with titles like : The problem with RDR2 (microtransactions) or something like that. I can't be the only one tired of still hearing the same sh*t about microtransactions in games. They will be in Online so get used to it and don't act like it is the downfall of gaming or some sh*t. R* did not know how popular GTA Online would get when making V. We have not seen a game after V to judge whether it changed them for the better or worse or not at all but going by everything we have seen from the game so far, it's hard to think they lost their ways. The same dull argument with GTA Online and Take2 is exhausting tbh. Also shark cards are the best possible microtransaction they could do for a game such as GTA Online.

It's possible. Hell, what if John is the Pinkerton Spy? Maybe that's why the government was able to get to him.

Game starts in 1899

John and much of the gang has already broken up at this point.

Dutch, Arthur, and others do Blackwater with hopes of expanding into New Austin.

It fails and a bunch of gang members die.

You flee the area to the North.

Meet up with John in Beecher's Hope.

Jack is four at this point

John gets convinced to join back up under the idea that they're going to be tracking down members of Dutch's gang even if they are no longer active.

The gang gets built back up, but John's loyalty isn't with the gang anymore (he's the only one of the seven line up looking away)

Everyone realizes this.

Dutch wants you to affirm your loyalty.

Micah "Sometimes, brothers make mistakes." is the mistake of taking John on.

Do a robbery to set John up as the fall guy.

John being a spy rather then hanged he his spared.

John tells the Pinkerton's he is done, and Dutch's Gang wont have anything to do with him.

Pinkertons agree he is a burnt asset and leave him be.

The Bureau picks up John and the rest is history.

Van der Linde is indeed a typical Dutch last name and is the clearest sign Dutch could be actually of Dutch origin.

 

However it could also be likely that Van der Linde isn't his last name but an adoptive name. Either in honor of an adoptive parent and/or mentor.

Yeah it is a great TV. I went from a B6 OLED to that. OLED is great but its shortcomings weren't worth the price.

True, but Rockstar has a bit of a media stigma. So putting kids in the world population could be a headache for them. Which is weird since Bethesda has kids in worlds that are just as bad. I could probably see kids in RDR2 given how you can't really run them over. I mean I guess you could trample them with horses or a wagon, but in the medias eye this is better then driving a truck into a group of kids. But then again I use to run kids over with a moped in Bully so.....

 

Their choice is mainly due to lawsuit reasons more than anything. Rockstar is known for controversial games that the media seems to think are nothing more than hooker murder sims. The media would have a field day with kids in a Rockstar game that wasn't Bully (even that had Jack Thompson throwing a sh*tfit like he use to). Any bad thing a kid did to someone in real life would probably be tied to it.

 

Nevermind you can get some disturbing and questionably legal mods for Bethesda games.
