I think with the "Rockstar Model" coined by CD Projekt (a potential rival to Rockstar Games now as a publishing subsidiary division of Take-Two and as a public company in future) I think their studios have different things on the pipeline but undertake mega projects together. And more in order and aligned and organised.

I think Imran Sawar's interview with IGN late-last year said that all 9 Studios have one overlap: each now have an online game services team. That got me thinking if Red Dead Online becomes another cash machine like GTA Online then Rockstar Games will take all that teams from each studios and create a Rockstar Games Online or Rockstar Online Games studio. At this point (another reason for spin-off) is that Take-Two is all spending in $300 million in quarter cash into two assets: It flagship and crown jewel- Rockstar Games, and NBA 2K League (Private Division and Social Point are not important and can be shut down anytime especially the former).

Ah I see, well it's all good. We've had tons of news now. I also want stuff to stay unknown, element of surprise and everything.

 

By the way, if they truly spent 8 years on this around the time it comes out I think it's safe to assume we'll have the longest story in a Rockstar game too. I sure hope so.

Rockstar Games also the only game company that can make a successful Battle Royale title (Motor Wars in V was a massive success) that can compete with Epic Games' Fortnite and PUBG Corp's PUBG.

In our demo, we went on a hunt, and afterward, we ran into a rider who commented on the quality of our kill. We chose to politely say thanks and kept riding, but Rockstar told us that in situations like these, we could have turned to follow him and kept talking, or harassed or even robbed him. We just entered our final, minor RDR2 news drought. From mid-June on I think we'll get something RDR2 related at least every 2.5 weeks or so. Meanwhile I'm saving up for a Xbox One X and a 4K HDR TV.

So with all the info we have received about the game, it's safe to say that "RedDeadInsider" from Reddit was probably legit, right? Confirmed the map leak, and was right on the dot with the protagonist and general idea of the story and gameplay.

 

So with all of that lining up, I guess we can expect to play as John at the end? How do you feel about this? I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar did that. They probably see it as a way of "making up," for the slight backlash they got for the end of RDR1.

 

Only thing is, if it's true that you set up Beecher's Hope home as John st the end, it wouldn't make sense to be free roaming as John and indulging in whatever criminal side activities are in the game, since story-wise, at that point, John is finished with the gunslinger life since the gang left him.

Motor wars doesn't even touch those games you mentioned. It was a last minute half assed addition to the game just to cash in on the BR craze.

Motor wars doesn't even touch those games you mentioned. It was a last minute half assed addition to the game just to cash in on the BR craze.I know it was that but was a big success for GTA Online growth. Now I mean a publicly traded Rockstar Games or even as a subsidiary can make a successful stand-alone competitor to those games.

As a Flemish person I can say he doesn't have a Dutch accent.

 

So we have three posibilities here.

 

A) Dutch migrated to the US at a very young age.

 

B) Dutch his parents or grandparents migrated to the US.

 

C) It's just a nickname.

 

 

 

A likely scenario would be that Dutch's mother was pregnant of him while she migrated to America and gave birth to him there. That's how things went back then.

 

Chances are great we'll know the origin of his name in rdr2.

With his last name being ''Van der Linde'', a last name you still see in the Netherlands today, it's clear he has a Dutch background/ancestors. His accent doesn't strike me as Dutch though.

That's what I was thinking, Arthur leaves just like john, but instead of going to great plains to be a farmer like john and uncle, he just goes somewhere else alone (or with Sadie depending on there relationship in the game)

Van der Linde is indeed a typical Dutch last name and is the clearest sign Dutch could be actually of Dutch origin.

 

However it could also be likely that Van der Linde isn't his last name but an adoptive name. Either in honor of an adoptive parent and/or mentor.
