We don't know about Starfield and Cyberpunk 2077 yet but both games were in development for a really long time like Red Red Redemption 2. Do you think that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be better than them? What is your feeling. I hope that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the best game for a long time despite more advanced games coming out in the future.

Amen brother. And here: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/rockstar-new-england-working-on-next-version-of-a-famous-ip/1100-6415663/I got a 1000 bucks in that's it's bully 2

Which will be the swansong of this gen and not rdr2

I wonder if his role in the game will negatively affect the way we view John Marston. It will be interesting to see him gleefully robbing people. Maybe make you question just how good a man John really is

Guys I just thought of a crazy idea what if Arthur does survive and also lives beyond the death of JM and somewhere in the future meets Jack..hmmmm.

I mean it is called RDR2

Leaks

Someone going to lose their job folks. However this bring back the GTA V days back again. Graphic is phenomenon and I am not even putting in my glasses.

That can't be real. It looks like another game.

It looks like some studio's demo. Doesn't seem like anything to do with RDR2. If I had the motivation, I'd compare it to the RDR2 trailers and screenshots for design models and forest density and lighting. But I'm sure somebody will.

Is it true that Rockstar are making single player dlc for Red Dead Redemption 2 or it's just a rumor? I really hope that they put all of their focus on single player this time and not multiplayer like gta 5.

After all the money they made with gta online they dont care for SP anymore

The end game time jumps to Jack after the Edgar Ross incident. He's at the Marston Ranch going through his Pa's stuff when he comes across a photo of the whole "family" back in 1899 and a letter dated 1911 initialed with A.M. originating from Bolivia.

Imagine how it must feel to be working on a project for 8 years in complete silence, and then be able to have a massive info blow out like this. It must feel great to be able to show off what you've been working on for so long.

I like to imagine that we have some "guests" here that worked on the game and want to see what our opinions are of the first major info we've gotten. I wonder. How they feel reading the last 100 pages or so.

Theyre excited as much as us. But take this way... You've been working this game for so long, you have been putting in precious hours, then for some leaker to come in here and ruin your surprise. I wouldn't be too welcoming either, but again I know you can't keep these things in secret for very long.

I just looked at the new screens, by Deus that shot of Marston duel-weilding is great!!!

Rockstar Games' titles innovation over the years:

* GTA IV: HD Open world

* Red Dead Redemption: Story and Wild west setting

* Max Payne 4: unmatched Gameplay in a third person shooter

* GTA V: Character switching system, Online

* Red Dead Redemption 2: Story, Wild west setting, Gameplay, First ever "Living and Breathing world" Open world game (GTA V started that RDR2 takes it to the next level)

Speaking of the GTAV development process and studios (well, nobody was, but I don't care), I had a thought yesterday. Yes, an actual thought.

Yesterday, I was driving around suburban Los Angeles, hilly curvy streets, past typical Southern California design houses, with picture window views, flat roofs, carports, palm trees, the California springtime sun shining bright and warm, beautiful So Cal living, and this occurred to me ...

I wondered about all the Rockstar North devs who were on the trips for the Los Angeles surveys, driving all over the whole city, seeing all that So Cal paradise, the beautiful, sunny weather, those unique houses and lifestyles, that thing, that...magic. So much different from cold, gray Edinburgh.

I wondered, how many of those devs sent their resumes out to Los Angeles and San Diego companies, hoping like crazy to get a permanent ticket to the beautiful world of Southern California? If they can do graphics for Rockstar, they can probably do CGI for the movie studios in West Los Angeles and the valley, right? The skills should transfer.

How many Edinburgh middle managers and bosses started trying to convince senior management that Rockstar should expand their studios out to Los Angeles, to the beach cities, to Santa Monica, to Venice Beach (before Snapchat f*cked it all up in Venice).

Part of what triggered this thought, as I was driving along. was the earlier GTAF discussions about how the studios morph and collaborate and change, for each new big game.

If I were an Edinburgh dev, I'd be calling everybody I know "in the business" in Southern California, trying to get a way in.

54 seconds of someone stumbling through a forest is the worst, most Rockstar approved leak I could ever think of

I dont see how character switching was a revolution with games doing it in the past!

GTA V- The scale and detail of the world.

Yes Mombo. R* doesn't care for SP that's why they've been working on this game's SP for 8 years and built a new AI system from scratch just to support it.

Replying with a resdit link that directs me to an image that has nothing to do with what I just said and isn't relevant at all isn't an argument. Games are getting much more expensive and time consuming to produce now a days. Back then, 1 studio would make a single game and now its a collaborative effort between multiple if not all the studios. And each game will be more ambitious than the last.

Your post that doesnt pertain to what we're discussing? Unfortunately, yes. A small team is focusing on GTAO right now and AGAIN, since development times are longer, GTAO had to be the thing to compensate for the lack of new games. Its not THE reason new games aren't being released. And it is unfortunate that GTAV SP was scrapped but keep in mind that T2 calls the shots with those things. They would rather the team focus on the product that will make the most money. And there's still lots we don't know about the whole cancellation debacle. Maybe it was because R* north threw all hands on deck for RDR2 at the time and didn't want to waste time money and resources on a SP dlc?

You can read about it in the interview

via a new interview with IGN, where co-studio head of Rockstar North, Rob Nelson, revealed that not only has Red Dead Redemption 2 been in development since 2010 (aka the year when Red Dead Redemption hit)

If they add microtransactions to RDR2, what could we possibly buy? There won't be jetpacks or flying cars so I don't think you should worry too much.

I have no idea if the people thinking that this is RDR2/a game/a render are joking or not...

...but that's a)very, very clearly an IRL mobile recording, and b)if you somehow can't tell that then here's the source

Probably we will get some cosmetic items as saddles, gun skins, hats etc. But I hope they will dont do as Zenimax did in ESO where almost every cosmetic item you can get only by spend money without any other way to get it.

Im thinking that the microtransactions will be cosmetic for the most part. Beyond that I expect some tasty SP DLC. Undead Nightmare was a hit for them and I imagine they will bring it back or at least something similar.

Alright ,I'm pretty sure that the game will take place over a number of years and without time jumps. If there is a season system then it would make sense that the game takes place from 1899 to 1906 when John was shot. There was also that leak about how we'll be able to play as John at his ranch so it will be very cool if all this is true.
