Red Dead Redemption 2: Discussion & Speculation (Part 2)

While all the speculation goes on and we seemed to narrow down the time jumps, i truly do still think all the way back from trailer 1 "you gotta run and dont look back, this is over" is arthur to john once sh*t gets really bad. Also we got trailer 3 "this whole thing is pretty much done.. we are more ghosts than people" he sounds very concerned. These new screens and the trailer showing johns scars being new, healed, and even stiched, leads me to believe for sure that arthur is gonna try to save john at some point.. just hope he doesnt die:( we got a hell of an interesting game coming folks...

I just thought of something. When one article mentioned they saw some members "retire to their tents for the evening" if snoring becomes unbearable at the camp I'm leaving right then and there.

 

I wonder if you can bring ladies of the road in your tent too lol

A shirtless Arthur asleep in his tent wakes up and cuddles to what he thought was the lady from the night before. The lady left and the big beard man took her spot after Arthur realizes this it's too late and the bearded man beats the sh*t out of him.

probably i will definitely do this just to see their reactions. I'll throw some dynamite near the camp too while im at it. That should wake em up a little

That would be absolute fan service to me... my biggest dream with RDR2 one of them already came true (arthur and john seemingly being close) and my other one was if theres ever a scene with Red/John/Arthur at the same time.. I think its very possible as like I said, John and Arthur are outlaws, Red is a bounty hunter... itd be such a cool easter egg and make a lot of sense. I wouldnt put it past R* that they already thought of doing this.

See I was thinking it would be great to see Red in this game. But I don't think he would still be a bounty hunter. He is probably still on the run after killing the Governor. At the end of Red dead revolver the Marshall says they will be sending men after Red.

If anything I could see him being a bounty target, maybe even get the scorpion revolver as a reward! I'd hate to see him killed though.

There was a guy on Reddit several months ago supposedly leaking Red Dead info, this was the message he sent me... not sure how much to believe of it:

"Lets see what I remember...

You play a gang leader named Arthur. The biggest change made to the game is you have a posse. If I remember correctly, the story kind of starts when you find out someone in your outlaw gang is a pinkerton spy. The pinkertons end up having you on the run through most of the game. You acquire lots of members of your gang such as abigal, little jack, marsten, and others. The core mechanic of the game is having to maintain and continuously move your outlaw camp. When you go on a mission you will choose who to take with you, similar to mass effect or dragon age. The game spans five zones. A directive they keep getting is to make the environments more interactive like skyrim. Whatever that means.

There is kind of a game plus like like the last one had. You end up at beechers hope and switch control to Jon marsten. The are then lots of quests etc dealing with building up your ranch. You literally will do x And Z to build a gazebo. I heard someone designed a mini game where you help a mare give birth that had people laughing.

The last I heard, which was a few months ago, the game was kind of stuck in development hell of sorts. Then team kept remaking a vertical slice demo for the leaders of rockstar and they aren't impressed... They didn't find it different enough or innovative enough. Hopefully they got out of that rut.

I've also heard that since gta5 morale at rockstar SD had been bad. Long timers are quitting. Lots of turnover. Lots of frustration.

It will be crazy if at the end Arthur becomes the antagonist and the control switch to John Marston who will then kill him (I know this is a single protagonist game not character switching system).

I will say Rockstar did not like how the first game ended so they are bring back John Marston to cancel that mistake with a prequel.

The game will autosave in some instances. If your horse dies, you can't reload the save.

What they specifically said was that "PS4 players are first to earn select online content".
