They're showing John a lot which means that he's gonna be a major character in the game, Hell, I'm sure he'll become the playable character after Arthur's "Savage" death.

It was confirmed that you don't ever switch characters

 

They won't just spoil the game, They didn't even reveal the antagonists in GTAV's trailers, that's how secretive they are. Arthur will definitely die, that's the most realistic reason of his absence in RDR1

Literally in the ign interview he said this is Arthur's story, he's the only character.

He also said they thought about multiple characters but decided against it

 

I'm not talking about the character switch that was in GTA 5, I'm saying that Arthur will die and then you'll switch to John, like in RDR1 where John died and we switched to Jack. Like I said, they won't just reveal everything and spoil the game. That's how they roll.If you wanna play as John so bad just play rdr 1

 

Jeez, calm your tits friend... I'm just speculating.

They said something to the effect of "wondering around camp talking to the gang can start all manner of things, such as a robbery or just a going hunting and fishing trip with a fellow gang member"

 

But either way that screen shot is awesome.

 

Amy ideas on the type of fish that is? Looks like a catfish to me.

The game should be talking place over multiple years, so time will be advancing as the story progresses. It's very clear when Marston looks younger in some screenshots, and older in the others with stitches gone from his face. New towns will be built, new buildings to be established and even houses going ghostly. That will change the atmosphere and the experience for the player.
