Lol are we really prepping ourselves for more grief today?

 

We will get news the day before or after that conference call, honestly im not too optimistic about it, id say this game has been going through development hell.

Yeah I think so too. Plus that I bet Take Two isn't really in much of a hurry with GTA Online doing so damn well, they take their sweet time. But yeah, I recall that some key people have left the company as well unless I am now mistaking it with a different developer. And you gotta wonder how important The Benz was. With this extreme lack of marketing I definitely see them delaying it again. Worst case scenario is sometime 2019, better case is holiday 2018. Of course the very best one is simply f*cking updates with screens and maybe a countdown to trailer and finally some f*cking good news for a change that the October date still stands.

 

Well, Lead Online Designer was fired,

Lead Online QA left, and some Game Designers from San Diego left.

 

But that turnover rate is usually pretty normal in the gaming industry, especially when other studios newly opened/gained traction in the region near San Diego.

 

I still don't think this game is in development hell.

I think they just needed extra time for the "complex Singleplayer Systems", for Red Dead Redemption 2, which was what the first delay was for.

And I believe the second delay must have been because they want the Online component up to par, and not release in such a broken state as GTA Online did.

 

Do you remember how TakeTwo constantly spoke about how many players they lost with GTA Online in the beginning? I believe they don't want to repeat that mistake and have Red Dead Online up to par by its release.

Well damn. Today was the original release date of RDR and three weeks from now when the investor call takes place, it'll be two days before RDR actually came out, eight years ago.

Magazines are already out with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, so it seems unlikely that GI has their cover story for that game next week. Don't they usually have the "honors" of showing a game first? I guess it slightly increases the chance of RDR2. Even if none of them visited Rockstar yet.

Eight years......f*ck me......have we really been waiting THAT long for a sequel? Wow....makes 6 months seem like nothing now lol.

 

 

 

Oh and also, I wouldn't expect Rockstar to tease a GI issue. That would ruin the surprise after all, so I wouldn't expect anything today. Unless of course they're not doing the issue just yet.

Problem with this is, with GTA V back then Andrew tweeted clearly that they were at Rockstar for their cover story #GTAV. Unless GI recently visited them or actually visits them now as we speak I doubt the cover story will be RDR2 and that's just worrisome.

If the next GI cover is SotTR then that's just BS. The game is having a full on reveal today with gameplay and sites having hands-on impressions and everything as well. It'd be disappointing if the GI cover is for that. Even if it isn't RDR2, give me something else.

I'm really tired of Rockstar. Their milking of GTA:Online, near non-existant marketing campaign for RDR2, not releasing any new games for 5 years, trying to get rid of mods and silence on the removal of songs from GTA IV has greatly soured my opinion of them.

 

Definitely getting this game second-hand or borrowing it from a friend because I don't think Rockstar deserve my money.

In regards to Discrafted's Tomb Raider comment, agreed, it really wouldn't seem fair. I just want to see gameplay for RDR2, like come on we're six months out and we haven't seen any gameplay yet?! All we have is cinematic angles of it.

If they didn't say "A lot more info in the coming weeks..." at the end of the Newswire post then maybe... just maybe the wait wouldn't be this bad.

That's the last thing I'm concerned about regarding the lack of info, we know by now Rockstar's wording has a completely different meaning than the norm. It's the time passed overall and time left until the game is out that's got me worried about not having any substantial details yet.

They honestly probably intended to but due to scheduling changes they held back. I'm guessing for the perfect marketing campaign they are wanting a perfect timeline of events from now on.

Well, to be honest, At first, I asked for news, without insulting them. but then they pissed me off so I just kept sending a video of Red Harlow saying "I want my news" and started being a little more aggressive. I guess they'd prefer to block their fans than sharing some RDR2 info.

Yes , if you really dont want them getting a dime of your money( which I dont blame you) , wait about a week after launch, and buy a used copy on ebay from a person. Sure the game was already purchased but you wont be adding to another sale by buying it new from a retailer.There are ways to vote with your wallet like this .

 

Personally I think I will be doing the same. How they have milked the tit of gta v o till its raw , bleeding and infected has really started to turn me off of them as a company. Rdr 2 will be remastered for next gen console when its out in 2 years, then will be another long stretch before another game comes out. I see them milking rdr 2 o just as bad .
