Theres a pokemon switch thread that has been going on for month now on ERA so I would give believe what most of these guys say in there that post religiously. They obviously know more about Pokemon switch than I do.

 

 

 

So if thats to be believed, we can rule out Pokemon and that just leaves...RDR2!

I feel like Im forgetting other games releasing this year that didnt get a cover...

We already had DQ11, Spiderman, TombRaider is Edge and is getting revealed before cover reveal...what am I missing?

It's Red Dead. It's Rockstar. It's Open World. Need i say more?

P.S: Not really a good idea to compare a linear title with an open world one.

 

God of War is actually not really linear. If they called it open world no one would have batted an eyelid, it's more HUB-based than a proper open world but there's side quests and plenty of reason to explore. The way I described it to a friend is that it's an open world game with the open world fat trimmed down, all you get is what matters and it makes for some pretty fantastic world design IMO.

 

Either way, after playing it for two days if RDR2 is indeed gonna be as good then we're in for something special and I should also probably point out that GoW's metacritic is the same score as RDR1's, which should tell you the quality level of GoW.

Pokémon on Switch will be the game that pushes the console into legendary sales numbers.

 

Just by having pokémon on Switch and Mario odyssey, Nintendo is financially safe for a good amount of time.

Perhaps Rockstar is operating per their standard strategy, to sh*t on existing, loyal fans, who are now played out and financially tapped out, because profit from that segment has hit diminishing returns?

 

The new money is in the new kids, just getting old enough to play by themselves, after excitedly watching their older brothers (and sisters) having all the fun.

 

Each of those new players can whine and cajole a few hundred bucks in Shark Cards from their overworked, underpaid, long-suffering parents, before that well starts to run dry in a year or so, as the next wave of birthday kids grows up to take up the slack.

 

Recurrent consumer generations, recurrent consumer spending, FTW.

What happened to the leak that came from TrustedReviews? Was it ever taken down, seeing as it contained real screenshots? Usually R takes down stuff like that, when we found about Douglas Tauren being a voice actor, that was taken down.

For those who purchase the premium edition, they can install all those substantially large updates from the disk instead of needing to download them. Im assuming its more expensive than just the original standalone game because it includes the updates that cost a sh*t ton of in game money to take advantage of. Its a shark-cardless shark card in disguise.

 

That is unless this becomes the only available edition. And they retire the normal version.

This would actually fit well with a supposed marketing timeline with them getting ready to slow down GTA and start up with Red Dead
