I just want to add my sauce to this:

 

Everybody talks about R* marketing starting 6 months before launch. Then why did you expect something today? 6 months before October 26th is April 26th, hell, even May 3rd is more like 6 months away than April 3rd. So, everything is on track.

Just remember Fallout 4 and how good it sales were. It was announced almost 4 months before launch.

If we ignore the GI cover for GTAV (we all know they did it so early because they still thought it would be Spring 2013), the big marketing blowout for GTAV started April 30th, which is 4 months and a half before release, not 6 months.

 

Going after the GTAV playbook, we should expect something for RDR2 mid-june, but I don't think so. It is more likely we get Trailer #3 in May, and possibly even a GI cover.

All in all it makes not a lot of sense to be disappointed. R* said "in the coming weeks", and not "in a few weeks".

 

Having a big blowout 7 months before launch is not even something EA, Ubisoft or Activision does. And we all know Rockstar, they are the most silent developers, but all their games turn out to be really good, and I like that about them, this means playing the game really feels surprising. Not like Ubisoft games, where you have a couple of hours of gameplay 5 months before launch.

I personally can't wait tbh. Insomniac Games put a lot of effort into this game so I'm pretty excited. Also, considering that Spider-Man is my personal fave in the Marvel universe. Really excited for the villains especially as every fan is. (PLEASE, LET SHOCKER BE IN IT!)

May 2017 - delay 1 + screens > 4 months

September 2017 - trailer 2 > 4 months

February 2018 - delay 2 + screens > 2 months and counting

I agree with you 100% ^ i wasnt being technical about the time cause the wait feels less cutting a month everytime the 1st happens aha. But seriously though. The delay talk AGAIN is quite ridiculous imo. What you said at the end is what i was gonna mention, its ONLY BEEN TWO MONTHS. two!! people thought gta would be delayed again when r* took about 3 months after "in the coming weeks" to start sharing info about gta v scheduled for september 17th. Every delay we have gotten it was a 5-7 month stretch with hearing nothing.. engrave that in your minds.. delay talk shouldnt even be a consideration until june which i HIGHLY doubt that is gonna happen. Like j dill said, R* doesnt delay games more than twice mostly but on top of this,

 

Games are putting their games before RDR2 ffs!! The whole game industry shifts their schedule around their release date!! Id say its safe to say they KNOW october 26th the game will be finished and out. Executor is right, it just wasnt time yet. It will be though. Very soon.

It's not going to get delayed Take Two's fall 2018 schedule is looking pretty weak at the moment aside from their yearly sports titles that sh*t look empty. They need Red Dead Dead Redemption 2 to release this fall unless they announce Borderlands 3.

lmaooo its true. It wont be delayed again take two already said even said they wont allow it. Do people seriously have that much doubt in R* now that they cant even keep a final release date?? Wtf. And yea borderlands 3 is already known to be in development. That will be out spring next year approximately, i have heard in tske two investor calls. Red dead is coming in october and thats final. The 26th.

 

Also about spider man im guessing it comes out in june or september. We will see tomorrow (i bought a spider man ps4 sweatshirt recently which was scheduled to be shipped in may, so if thats going by anything indicating its date, its interesting..

Spider-Man PS4 looks to be a very compelling open world. With the combat being similarities to batman i just hope they don't follow the same blueprint. Im od critical when it comes to open world games, but there is something about it that i like. I haven't even touched or had absolutely any interest in any open world since 2013. Idk if its because i played most of the old ones or what. I know this is a RDR2 thread lol but what else can we speak on right.

exactly. It actually did make sense the web slinger got the cover/release date now, i forgot about infinity war coming. May the actual month is what we should count and may makes more sense for RDR2. I was thinking of it as in (may cover means highlight things of that month) but their order is opposite. May has always been a red dead month all the way back from revolver.. much more likely cover then cause all big games are outta the way too and the last two were just sony exclusives
