@damienrayemusic I hope you're right that R* is actually trying to make this a true next-gen game. It feels like this generation all next-gen and innovation has meant is prettier graphics and making everything open world when it doesn't need to be.

ugh i stg i relate to this feeling so much like i love open world and right now love far cry 5 but no matter how much ubi improves and impresses with new titles so far, aint norhin like a rockstar game. I think if we're approaching the end of April without anything, it can't be good. We're technically 6 months away from October so we have to get something soon. There's no way this game is going to have a short marketing campaign. It's probably the most complex and most expensive game they've developed.

Its been so lOmg I'd forgotten about this game and even stopped caring. It'll be out when it's out. Probably a mess like rdredemption was. Story will be short and online/microttansaction-focused, so yeah when we get more info I'll be like: ah, ok.

What we hate is the fact that R* will not give us anything at all and keeps doing asshole type sh*t like saying "summer" and releasing a teaser on the last day of summer for a minute and a half of video a week later. Or saying "coming weeks" when they mean "coming months". Were only dying for the news because rockstar promisd us news!

These are excellent points, I think most of us feel the same way. Red Dead is one of Rockstar's flagship titles now, but the sad thing is they have treated it opposite. The initial reveal was excellent, the marketing after that... To put it in mild terms has been sh*tty. They can delay the game again if they absolutely have to (knocks on wood), but what most of us are asking for is for them to give RDR some spotlight.. GTA had it for 5 years, give it some rest until VI. A short break from GTA can cure franchise fatigue for both them and us.

Announced two years ago and all we got is a few screenshots and like 2 mins of footage (half of which is just pretty scenery)

 

I sometimes think they've messed up badly in development and are desperately trying to fix it right now. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled it and repurposed the assets for a Wild West themed GTA: Online update.

that would be the scariest outcome i dont see it that way though. Theres no way theyd cancel this. Its a moneymaker for one, two, westerns are getting hyped right now again, three, theres many actors and photographers just so many people that worked on this game and its in their resume, and lastly they spent millions of dollars for this game which has an official release date... they will not cancel it. Not only would they lose so many fans and also money, but they would lose some of their reputation too.

 

We are in good hands this is going literally the same as gta v did orher than the game informer timing, which i think will be next week. They know what theyre doing and it wasnt time to share anything this month. Dont forget gta v first ofdicial marketing start wasnt even till april 30th... aka last second. I see game informer happening and then rockstar takes the real marketing stuff in may from then on.

I 100% agree. I'm sure RDR2 will last a great while and after that we'll get Bully 2. GTAVI won't be coming out for a very long time. Does anyone wonder if there is something wrong with the game??

Something wrong with RDR2? I don't want to sound negative but I feel like the 2nd delay has to do with microstransactions and possibly even loot boxes, but that's just me taking a wild guess. I don't see the game being the same mess that RDR was, because honestly they should have this engine down pat by now. It also looks like RDR2 is using a similar variation of GTA V and that game runs pretty smoothly, so I don't see why it would be a coding issue. Then again, my knowledge of game development is limited.

I agree with the whole''GTA lost i's value by being mentioned/shoehorned so much'' thing,and unfortunately that's because of the Online bullsh*t.

 

 

And something else,I am trully thinking if they just encounter problems with RDR 2.Like for real,all we have seen since the reveal(2016) are just some mediocre trailers which consist of obvious cut-scenes(typical Rockstars lol) and some bullshots that do not represent how the game will look anyways.

 

 

All I'm saying is,if everything was good in the development of the game(given there are always troubles with making a game,but when you're making it for around 5-6 years,you should be able to show something to the fans near the end of the cycle),they could have shown and said JUST enough to make people hyped for the game without ruining much of the mystery around the whole thing(like they did with V).

 

RDR is not GTA.It's not so popular.I think they WANT to market the game,but because of problems and stuff.they simply CAN'T say or show anything fearing that the details will either dissapoint the fans,or those details just won't make it to the game in the end.

 

 

Fight me all you want,but we either get news very soon,or they probably confirm another delay.I just don't see the point in their marketing,and with many other games coming out that people are psyched about,RDR 2 is slowly fading away from everyone's list.At this point they HAVE to see that no one is talking about the game very much(aside from some forums and twitter people,which is like,a very low number) and realise the fact that there's more people fearing what RDR2 might become INSTEAD of actually being positive and waiting for the game.And it all Rockstar's fault,no doubt.
