You're lecturing the wrong person, I'm sure Auscowboy is more than acquainted with the A-10. 

 

He's saying stop lamenting the jet it isn't and start using it as the jet it is and you'll find yourself much happier with it. 

 

And since it is the aircraft that it is and not what it isn't they shouldn't touch the handling.

I mean, he does have a point (and so do you) thankfully the B-11 Strikeforce is not totally useless, which is nice.

 

But it just feels wrong having an A-10 of all things at the top of the dogfight chain while having a sh*tty cannon. It's the complete opposite of what it's in real life.

 

It's odd seeing the same company proud of having such attention to detail in their games missing the mark badly with several vehicles, which is a shame, because the B-11 Strikeforce, sans being smaller, it's pretty much spot on design wise (that A-10 + YA-9 + YA-10B mix is quite clever).

A nerf to its maneuverability is needed too, it's absurd having an A-10 going toe to toe with actuall fighter jets.

 

What's the point of putting a car, a plane or whatever into the game if R* is not going to make it justice?

It honestly seems like R* is going to lower the standard of performance (saaassssssasaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssasasas update anyone?) However it damn well should apply to all

Not only with the vehicles. Weapons is probably the weakest point in GTA in general: massive imbalances and general inaccuracy. A lot of cool guns are too underpowered, let's take for example .50 BMG  in-game representation, it's a joke, starting from the .50 handgun based on IMI Deagle that should only have 7 in the mag, but there's 9 like it should be with .357. And .50 in-game is seriously lacking the punch, especially in the heavy sniper. This is anti-material rifle and the closest it is to the state it should have been is FMJ rounds + Bullshark. 

 

So yeah, it would be nice to see some new guns that are interesting to use and properly implemented. Any update with the new proper guns will get and instant approval from me.

Same, and this is what was the most infuriating thing about GUNrunning: only six "new" weapons on an update that should had been all about weapons, and I actually like MkII guns a lot.

 

And even though I only addressed this part of your post, I agree with everything in it. I don't use the Pistol .50 more often due to how puny it is.

 

I went off-topic inside this spoiler but don't want to get rid of what I wrote because I find it relevant:

 

 

They also made the MkII Heavy Sniper a meme in that update with its explosive rounds. Don't take me wrong, a hard counter against Hydras and Lazers was a long way coming, but not how they did it. I still remember a post by you, @hei3enberg, way back then, that correctly laid out how the .50 cal should have worked and it was pretty much spot on.

My way to bring a type of explosive rounds for the sniper would have been much like how Watch_Dogs' The Destroyer worked. It was a Barrett M107CQ with only two rounds per magazine that instantly disabled the engines of vehicles that it hit. It didn't explode anywhere or on any surface and could be used like a normal sniper rifle against personnel if you found yourself in a pinch. Whip it out to swat some of those flies out of the sky but the pilots still had a chance to jump out.


I will admit that the MkII we got with explosive rounds is a guilty pleasure to use in PvE environments because it's the perfect power fantasy. In PvP? No, I hate it and am glad the "boom" rounds were nerfed against players.

I went absolutely apesh*t when an update called GUNrunning featured the RailGUN during a GUNrunning source mission for parts from a RailGUN that didn't even make a GUN. That would have "technically" been a new GUN.

I was just thinking about making a big post in the Gameplay Ideas Wishlist topic about how many weapons could be tweaked so they could resemble their RL counterparts better.

 

Like for example, the MG should carry 100 rounds (instead of 54) with Default Clip, the Machine Pistol should carry 72 rounds (instead of 36) with a Drum Magazine and so on.

Seeing the B-11 complained about in my absence makes me feel good. Buff buff buff.

 

Just wanted to restate my position anyway, that the cannon is horrible and utterly sucks. The bombs are also pretty terrible. Bit better than the cannon, but nowhere near as big as they should be.

 

Shame, since other stuff has been done well.

That's where my money is. They had a deadline for redrum2 in order to reach it they siphoned resources off gta which could do without some. Which is why it appeared both nightclub and sasasassssassaaaasaa were delayed and subpar as far as what they SHOULD have been... besides they dont need as massive of a workforce on drumred2 due to the fact the games now gone gold. Theyd reallocate their workforce the dlc teams on red dead, Reinforcing gta5, and also on their future projects.

Well if they want to launch a DLC in December, yeah. A smaller team won't cut it

I feel like that will really depend on the reception of RDRO, if they see that they can milk that, they'll probably ditch GTAO, if not, they'll pull another filler in March.

A December DLC at this point doesn't make any sense, by the time December starts, they would have just gotten RDRO on it's feet with all the launch problems and stuff like that, there's noway they'll be like "okay, we got RDRO well and running, lets go back to GTAO" it makes no sense.

TBH, I'm less optimistic as time passes about a Dec update. A month and change from release and less than a month from RDR2 Online seems awfully close for a massive end of year GTAO DLC. Hoping I'm wrong as I desperately want new cars, but even then, they'll still have those sh*tty flags so it's hard to be optimistic.

 

I also think the Dec DLC may be swayed by how well RDR2/O is received. If it's released with a bunch of bugs and problems, that decreases the chances of a Dec GTAO update. If it does way better than expected, I could also see that as a reason to put the Dec update on hold. We should have an idea soon hopefully, the whole thing is making me really miss our dude Yan :(

Probably not, they skipped out on releasing the remaining cars when Running Back was released and since Sumo is tomorrow... the Futo and others will be next Tuesday.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for good events.

That and the hk21 rifle, assault sniper which acts like the marksman sniper, prgrammable ar, mk2 advanced rifle, and a heavy pistol mk2 which is based of the colt 1911

Rockstar North is not Rockstar San Diego, no one working on GTaO has touched RDR2, and vice versa

The barrage makes up for the lack on cannon though, its a bit more challenging as well

it is STILL the sh*t till this day, at least for me , there is in fact 2 PC crews playing RvI constantly ( on a daily basis) : PIMP and RISO ... i´ve been playing it since early 2016 , it just never gets old ! best LTS ever !

 

so , can we expect the ol´ "new" dripfeed cars to be released today on SSAS ? or will it be just Sumo remix ? (I love that AM BTW )

It's most likely just Sumo (Remix) since old vehicles being released haven't coincided with a new AM yet. That and one of the ten liveries that were added this update being enabled for one or two more vehicles.

 

However, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather have Sumo (Remix) be delayed for another week and instead have the liveries for the Penumbra, Mamba and Coquette Classic - and maybe the Prairie or Ruiner and Futo pairing as well - being released today, together with some attention being given to original game modes like contact missions, survivals, deathmatches, land races and the like. Have those doubled instead for Online's anniversary. 

 

You know, having some respect for the past and the game's legacy instead of more neon visual garbage.
