Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 6)

Nothing aside from Yan's teaser.

If there's a return to businesses, but Rockstar can make it more interesting and engaging, then I'll entertain it.

To be honest, even though I'd like there to be more military vehicles - helis, jets, tanks etc - a part of me kinda wishes Rockstar would just cut the crap and make an all-out military game to rival Battlefield and COD. Leave out all this crap from GTA. Cut the meme vehicles, death rays from space, BST, Ghost etc and let it return to its roots.

I speculate some form of business venture will make an appearance and estimate the next DLC will drop mid-late June.

The bad press could hamper RDR2's potential. Bad business I'd suspect.

mmm naa unless they go full retard and erase everyones progress from the cloud, nothing they do to gtao would affect rdr, that game is just too hot!

For the next DLC i really just hope for one thing and that's more storage space for basically any kind of vehicle.

More garages, at least one more hangar, and a boathouse so we can finally put out boats on display as well.

I don't even care if it's new properties or if we can just buy more of the ones that are already in the game (except for the boathouse obviously).

Since the DLC is supposed to be about consolidating the existing businesses (which is just a fancy way of saying they're not adding anything new...) i'm not expecting any fireworks.

Basically "consolidating the businesses" could be a matter of saying that a CEO can now buy weed, and a biker president can do I/E.

Add a menu option so a biker president can spawn a buzzard and a ceo can call in a bike, and boom, there you go.

It could include some new fancy headquarters, which could be a mansion, another bunker, an island or whatever, but to be honest i don't have my hopes up.

I'm just hoping the consolidation doesn't force a bunch of new restrictions on how existing businesses work.

And then they get the bright idea to apply to it to everything.

Nah for real though if that was going to happen, I'd hope it would've happened by now. Well no, I don't "hope" for anything along those lines to happen - people should be allowed to do it in solo public lobbies.

Oh my f*cking god, I swear that if they did this I'd happily sell this game forever. I really wish you wouldn't have even posted this but sadly if they actually did do something like this it wouldn't be surprising.

And according to leaks, a combined business can be not so great as we expect but just a one more thing to take our $ for the same sh*t.

This statement right here is why I will try my best to not immediately spend cash on the next update. I'll gladly wait for other people to buy and test the out the new crap. After the last update it's caused me to give R a major side eye when buying new things. Hell I might even wait for sales lol.

Omg I this totally skipped over my head. Still though, you sometimes just wanna be alone when doing work lol.

I almost dare them to do it. How childishly far would they actually be willing to go? The more they try to make new things impossibly hard to do for lone-wolves, the more childish they come off as.

But hey, this is the company that looked at the Hydra and Rocket Voltic and decided that the Rocket Voltic needed a nerf.

I can't disagree that things are looking decent for RDR2 for sure. I loved the last one, and it does have a story mode which is one thing I had some anticipation over. How long/deep it goes remains to be learned of course.

For the online though. Big changes like suggested here that could follow over. All but guarantees I'll not even create a character. (If that's the plan, lol).

I've concerns over the 'freeloaders' comment, and the learning that microtransactions are to follow too. Time will tell of course for both this and RDR2, but after this game's grind and forcing of playstyles, I'm done with the company quite honestly.

Already made peace that RDR2's story is where it ends for me. But I'm hopeful.

I just feel many don't like RDR and won't buy it because the theme/setting isn't their thing, and it may not appeal to younger players like a current GTA does like here. Doesn't make sense that they add/change something contentious this close if they have hopes of a casual playerbase does buy RDR2.

In short, it's a period they'd do well to attract an audience for the RDR2 advertising to reach.

But controversy sells too, lol.

Couldn't have said it better myself. RDR is a different game, it doesn't have to appeal to fanbase of GTA, and vice versa. It will be a financial success, but let's not forget it's a console exclusive, so by design, it won't attract a solid portion of our community. It's not like PS4 and X1 have a solid catalogue of exclusive games to begin with, meaning people have less reasons to buy these platforms over PCs. Even if RDR2 is a platform defining title, an absolute essential.

Furthermore, GTA Online's future is not fully dependant on RDR2. Just look at what's happening already - people check if there's anything remotely interesting added to the game at tuesdays, and don't care about it for the next 6 days. It's not RDR2 which turned GTA Online into what it is today, with flying broomsticks, militarized everything, and modders plaguing public sessions. It's just the direction R* took, made a decision to put emphasis on the absolute lowest common denominators instead of actual content, like in Heists or Lowriders.

Already made peace that RDR2's story is where it ends for me. But I'm hopeful.

I gotta say, the possibility of laving R* behind is growing on me as well. The recent scandal with GTA IV's soundtrack is a step too far. I was very, very dissapointed when R* released III, Vice City and San Andreas on Steam, lacking few songs, and definitely not featuring any improvements and fixes to make them work properly on modern hardware, as well as screen resolutions, oh, and not having any achievements like basically their any console port before. I was angry beyond belief when Take2 attacked our modding community. But removing 50 songs I already paid for is inexcusable. If that was any other company, I probably would already blacklist them and never purchase their game again. It took way less (nonsensical, self-contradictory plot of these sh*tty DLCs for the third Bioshock, ruining literally the entire franchise, burning it to the ground) to made me blacklist 2k Games, and I'm happy I did. Seeing R* at this sorry state, ruining games we love and have countless memories with, may as well be the point I just stop supporting the company. I don't want to participate in its downfall.

Basically, there are two scenarios that can affect the future of red dead and other r* titles that aren't gta.

Either T2 thinks its worth maximizing profits on the potential fan base of red dead, or they don't. They know that red dead can't touch gtas demographic, which is practically anyone that plays a game. The west is a niche. But is it a niche big enough to milk is the question?

Red dead will have microtransactions, there is no doubt. And if they decide to milk the game to the bone they know there isn't another western mmo-esque game disgruntled customers will go to.

Well that would not solve my problem, since I want more storage for personal aircraft (I want my crew pink savage back. :D). The added bonus would be that I would have a helicopter waiting right outside the property (just like with my yacht) without needing to call pegasus or use the interaction menu.

I can't understand why they can't improve the unlimited storage that we could not enter. Put a tracker in your car, select storage and voila.

Well, I like to put my stuff on display so while a storage system similar to the one in the hangar would increase my overall storage capacity it would not allow me to show the stuff I own.

I also love having propertys all over the map so I have a hideout and a place to park vehicles near me, no matter where I am.

I think the next update will require public lobbies, but not for sale missions. Because they want players to enjoy the content together.

I haven't driven my rocket volltic for a year.. enlighten me on what they broke? that would be a shame it was pretty fun

^yeah the cooldown was increased to 9,5 seconds. Because an unarmed vehicle can't be allowed to be fast and fun.

Haven't used the Vigilante in a minute myself but iirc it's cool down is less and wasn't nerfed lmao R* logic.

Public lobbies are nothing new, now a quota for other players (like Piracy Prevention), that would be an update killer for a fair amount of players. There are more lone wolves than anybody likes to let on, at least when it comes to grinding money.

You'll think that a vehicle who's only gimmick is to have a rocket engine straped on its back would have the most powerful rocket boost but nope, that would make sense and making sense is a no-no for R*.

That's something that really annoys me. For what it costs and considering that it is weaponless and unarmored, the Rocket Voltic should be as effective as the Vigilante is in boosting (if not more so). Yet it's actually far less.

No, there won't be an update in May. The drip-feed for the update we are currently going through will be stretched until the end of the month.

Yeah, it's called drip-feed DLC. Something revolutionary in the video gaming industry.

Heck, I just want the damn things to recharge their rocket boost in mid air! At least the Rocket Voltic. Flying vigilante would probably not be too appreciated.

I still bring out the Rocket Voltic for fun times. It's fun to boost around and you won't get footed with an insurance bill should I make mistakes. And besides, out of all meme vehicles around, the Rocket Voltic ought to be a very tolerable one.
