I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Rockstar go off script and release the update next week on a Thursday or Friday, with maybe more information on Monday or Tuesday.

even if they don't always follow patterns, having discounts as big as this on the same day the update comes out would be counterproductive. they've never done something like this and probably ever won't. the main thing they want people to focus on during update event week is the stuff in the update itself.

Yeah, especially if that update requires you to own a bunch of businesses to work alongside the update. Would be pretty odd if they thought it might be a good idea to discount those businesses to maximize shark card profits or something like that, eh?

And then I just found another link that says the discounts are continuing till the 30th, it says "Your 30% discount on Megalodon Cash Cards and 20% discount on Whale Cash Cards continues this week.". So if we go by the very strange theory, wouldn't that suggest a July 31st release? or we can go the route that we are getting discounts as well as rewards.

the desperation for a 17th release is at an all time high. it's like they want it to come out then and no later otherwise they won't play it lmao

that's only for the shark card discounts, nothing else. that doesn't have anything to do with when the update comes out.

Probably because the game is on the tailspin out and about to be replaced with a new revenue generator, and if they discount sh*t on release (that you need to work alongside the update) there might be a higher chance of people buying shark cards.

 

But I don't really care what day the update comes out, I just like being devils advocate to people so adamant.

I'll go out on a limb and say Rockstar might care about the working man that doesn't have time to grind all week and works 9-5 Monday through Friday. Which would be the reason why they have discounts so they can buy sharkcards to help purchase the new content.

that's what they're doing right now, before the update is out so people will be prepared by the time it's out.

I personally feel these discounts don’t outright disprove a 17th release, if at all. I’m still a strong believer of a release THIS Tuesday. Even if it doesn’t release, which I have the utmost confidence it will, I’ll still be team 17th cause releasing on the later Tuesdays really seems dumb to me. All the discounts will just make it easier for the average scrub-tier player to enjoy more of the update, assuming all the previous businesses are affected in some shape or form by the Nightclubs. Me, I own all the property one can in the game, so I couldn’t care less about the discounts for them!

Everybody should b worried about the quality of the update. Don’t know about all of u guys but I’d prefer to wait a lil longer for a better dlc than a dlc full of bugs n glitches. Do u all want it done right or right now

As much as I would love to believe it coming out the 17th, all fingers are pointing towards the 24th, however like you said, it doesn't "outright disprove" the 17th
