Just put a bomb reticle already, goddamnit.

 

doesn't matter, the bombs continue forward as they fall, you have to release them early, so a reticle would be useless...

 

 

I'd rather they buff damage on the Rogue MGs, you can hit a Hydra five times in the tail and it's able to walk away with black smoke. To me at least, that's way more needing of a buff..

I think those might be a bit glitchy or something. I've seen some people say they're really strong, but then other times I've had them do barely anything.

There is something wonky about those cannons. I always thought it was the spread of the guns. It's like both guns don't have the same point of impact till 1000 feet so it's easy to shoot around the target though the reticle is directly on the target in a dogfight.

 

 

all other front mounted automatic explosive cannons have both streams right next to each other, the Rogue's are stronger but set farther apart, thus less accurate

The large bombers should propably have buffed bombs and improved bombing sights, but then their use must be limited. Maybe have their capacity decreased to 5 really powerful bombs, so that theyd be used only when theyre absolutely necessary. And I dont know; from what height can bombs be dropped without just disappearing? If youre at max altitude, do the bombs ever reach the ground? Because isnt that where a Volatol for example would realistically be? Bear in mind that aiming from such height would require very steady flying and much improved bombsights.

 

Id also like to see laser-tracking so that a teammate on the ground can perform the lock-on and the bomber drops the payload/fires the missile or whatever.

 

The last thing this game needs is added griefing tools. I find it easy enough to bomb footsoldiers with my Akula (which I have no barrage-option for since I prefer homing if I have to choose). With the Hunter Id say bombs are almost redundant since you have so much firepower overall, you dont really need it especially with a co-pilot.

The altitude you can be at, before the bombs just disappear, varies with connection and area of the level. usually 5-600 feet is the max distance they'll fall and still interact with the level. Yes, if you're at max altitude the bombs still render all the way down but need to be a direct impact on a player. The same rendering problems that let us shoot through buildings with the mkii sniper and thermal scope effect the bombs. A direct impact from 8k feet is extremely unlikely, laughably so.

 

Realistically, dumb bombs are dropped from fairly low. The U.S. bombers, that fire- bombed Tokyo, dropped their payload at just 500 feet. f*ck YES to guided bombs working with a strike team (IR laser guided).

Here's a little secret. Unlike standard MGs on other planes, that simply drain vehicle "health", Rogue's MG actually distract vehicle. You can shoot out wings and other parts with this EMG and enemy plane's pilot will not be able to control their machine normally - like turn, accelerate and etc.

Erm..., the reason why we want a bomb reticle is so we can see where they are going to hit. The forward movement of the bombs is calculated in when you use bombsights like this.

Those being disabled in the dev tunables mean what exactly? I just played a checkpoint challenge this morning on PS4, so obviously it doesn't reflect on FR currently. Does it mean they're planning on getting rid of those FR events in the future?

Perhaps they are adding new variants of those modes ?

Penned In will have a new variant which is related to the new business.

The time event launcher changed from 30 minutes to 15 minutes.

They are making changes to the freemode events which is a hint towards new events.

The reason why the Rogue's cannon is so powerful is because unlike the other explosive cannons, the Rogue's one does fire damage too. They could nerf that easily enough though, it's just a line in the EXP_TAG file.

The reason why the Rogue's cannon is so powerful is because unlike the other explosive cannons, the Rogue's one does fire damage too. They could nerf that easily enough though, it's just a line in the EXP_TAG file.

 

They're horribly inaccurate, though.

Of course they leave the ones nobody plays alone. Bridges, Low Flight, Melee....

They disabled some events but any challenge. The Free Mode Events Update has "Events" and "Challenges". The game alternate this every 30 minutes (15 now acordding to Fun). Edited by joel15cat

Wait, I'm not talking about the prod/public tunables.

There's "prod" which is the public environment we all use, and then there's "dev", "cert" and "stage".

Dev = Developer

Cert = Certification (For Sony & Microsoft to verify game updates)

Stage = Pre-production (They don't use this one much in terms of game development, it's only for events and contests)

I'm referring to what they are testing in the developer environment.
