Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 6)

I feel like Rockstar got us to the point where just updating Qabeta would cause this thread to explode.

 

I'm retracting my previous guess of 7/10 as the release date and I'm going for 7/17. That said, deep in my gut, although I don't want to believe it, I'm kind of feeling 7/24.

With new updates, has rockstar updated billboards in game? I was just driving and saw one for the cunning stunts academy, not sure if it's always been there or was added with that uldate.

Almost certain that's been in there from the start - same as the similar commercial on the in-game TV.

 

Bit like how I only just noticed the various synopses of movies on the Classic Vinewood website - there's probably hours of stuff to read/watch that nobody's ever bothered looking at, because it's so detached from the act of getting on with missions and 'core' gameplay stuff.

What if the Swinger isn't an E-Type at all? It could be an XJ Coupe, a restomod MkII, an XJ S, a late 90s XKR or even a DB Silverstone!

 

The E comes to mind because  of the name Swinger thanks to Austin Powers & GTA London, but don't forget that they are the same people who gave us the Bestia GTS, ItaliGTB, Mamba & Penetrator.

I darkly speculate that new Windsor will have a engine flag in it. But it will have a Casco engine sound and will oversteer like heck.

XKR is kinda too new for being "Classic Sports car", plus we have F620 already that has whole lot of inspiration from XKR. Rest is possible, although it's more than likely E-Type, but really, I wouldn't mind XJ Coupe nor XJS.

What if they made the biggest paywall yet and you would have to own every single business and keep stock from them to maximize profit for the Nightclub/Warehouse.

 

Each business stock adds 10% bonus orso. Like having bars for each business and you have to fill them to get the most out of it. That way they force people to grind different ones. Or maybe set a few per DJ, if you fill em all youll have the best party and thus max profit.

The go-kart could've been a good vehicle to add to CS or even SSASSS, but oh well. 

 

And going back to the Swinger again, I don't think R* would be silly enough to make it an Ocelot, classify it as a Sports Classic, but then it's not an E-Type... but then again this is R* we're talking about. *gulps*

At this point I can see Rockstar make a classic Aston Martin and call it Ocelot for the lolz.

Because the current windsor is a rolls royce, 3D universe and HD universe is seperate i am pretty sure.

Ian Callum X150 XK, probably not - but there's still room for the (IMO much better) Geoff Lawson X100 XK from the '90s:

 

 

 

Still probably a bit too modern to be in Sports Classics - but again, Jester Classic, Infernus Classic, and so on...

 

That, plus the decal options would suggest they're going to include an Austin Powers-style Union Jack look for it (because if they don't, they're leaving money on the table...) - obviously the E-Type makes sense, there, but that also applies to the X100:

 

 

 

My money's still on something E-Type-ish, though - it's such an obvious fit, and it's surprising we've not had one added already (particularly considering some of the random obscure things we've had instead).

I mean, sort of good point but the atleast the jester classic and the jester are both sports cars, and both roughly related, rolls royce and jaguar e type just don't fit in the same category in any sense.

The Swinger will probably be a blend of more than one irl car, they usually are, but I imagine the strongest influences will be nostalgia, homage, and pop culture.

That's what I tried to get across on the previous page (except, yanno, post got buried at the bottom of the last page... ) - R* obviously needs* to blend more than one car into the design for this thing, but it'd ideally need to be a logical blend of things, resulting in something that looks familiar. Hence why 'just shove all the incarnations of the E-Type into a blender' would probably work perfectly well - at a pinch, an E-Type front/D-Type rear could probably work pretty well, too.

 

*except for the times they've proved they don't - like the GP1, for instance, which just does the (IMO better) approach of just using one influence, and then tweaking enough details to make it legally distinct (also known as the 'Mafia II design philosophy' - that game still has some of the best off-brand cars ever).

Swinger has been in GTA before and it was an E-Type. If they stick to their heritage it will be an E-Type in GTA Online too. On the other hand knowing modern-day Rockstar they will likely name a Ferrari 458 an Ocelot and call it a day.

speaking of  blends the FMj is just " a car" in the sense that it isn't anything in particular. i hate when they they have 2 completely different cars on the front and back. (front being a aston martin vulcan while the rear is a ford GT)  

i'm sure they could have done it better.

I hope the etype isnt as awkward a blend as the 190z. dont get me wrong that car is great but the blend does not work. its always looking like two cars in one. most gta cars are least blend in well

I see the same criticism about the 190z from time to time, but I just don't get it. Looks fine the way it is to me. If we got more cars that were blended that nicely I would be happy about it.

 

Cars like the FMJ aren't ugly because of the mashup, it's ugly because the Vulcan is ugly. 

 

Just my opinions though.

 

Also, people were talking about Karts a bit ago....are there such things as Nightclubs with karting tracks irl? That would be legit.

I just hope we actually get some garage space in this update... last time we get some serious garage space was in december 2016 with I/E. Since then a lot of cars came out....

I dont really like the blend much bc the two styles are cars are just kind of too different.

 

The modern day equivalent would be like blending a Lexus LFA with a Nissan 370z. Just... idk theyd be better as two separate cars. The blend is so odd that the front of the 190z has a black bumper and the rear has chrome.

I certainly hope so!

If they want to go the lazy route, just give us Office Garages 4-6! No need for a special garage for Nightclubs, just give me garage space in general!

I still would've preferred that the Fairlady Z and the 2000GT were 2 separate cars, but I think the 190z is still a fantastic-looking car. I just wish it was faster and that it had customizable track width...

it looks fine to me, modern cars are much more different than older cars, especially cars from the 190z' age.

There are a load of indoor karting tracks near me IRL (vaguely touristy area of the UK) with neon-fringed barriers, disco / strobe lighting etc. and usually music blaring. 

However, only one has a club-esq area nearby, and the karts there are electric not petrol. 

 

But it's a good shout. Have a separate area of the club / warehouse with a mini-karting track, pool (the splashing and cue-related types), maybe bowling and air hockey... I'd buy into that.

Ew electric karts. 

 

Probably a long shot, buuuttt I mean the Kart is a classic GTA vehicle and has been requested by the community quite a few times. Maybe we will see an appearance.
