Something that just irks me....

I'm appalled at how Rockstar is okay with giving us all these money making opportunities but hardly showing us a glimpse of what we can expect to buy with it. As if it's somehow hard to grasp that people will most likely play more and grind if they know what's coming. Not even everything, just a fair amount at least.

But no, they would rather we put all our trust into them (because that's worked SO well in the past) and mindlessly grind hoping the update has worthy content to splurge on. That worked wonders for Gunrunning and Smuggler's Run didn't it? /s

Or remember how we had numerous juicy event weeks leading up to the March update only for it to be.... SSASSS. Yeah. I'm good on trusting Rockstar, I was already beyond that point a long time ago tbh.

They would rather keep everything close to their chest and hope we can somehow read their minds and know that everything in the update will be worth blowing money on.

I think we will get a trailer or at least a teaser again this Thursday.

Wasn't it pointed out they have a trend to do 91 days between each update and that lands o  the tenth? Truly information to argue for sooner or later date of release atm.

Ya imagine if they put a 10 second clip of the casino doors opening and you get a glimpse of the casino floor.

They could care less about the people who are grinding or saving up for the next update. They don't care if people like us know what is coming.

They want to suprise randoms with shiny new stuff so they will impulse purchase Shark Cards on update release day.

Then why give us event weeks like this and even go to the point of extending them? Obviously they want those who have the time to grind.... to grind. Shark card buyers will buy shark cards regardless of event weeks because they hardly have enough time to play anyway.

They already know that we know what's coming because they've been teasing Nightclubs themselves for a good month or so so there's no "surprise" here really except for the very casual folk who hardly play this game save for update day.

It's good for business if people are playing the game. Even better when they buy the sharkcards. That's rockstars logic

Yeah that's most likely the purpose of these event weeks... to get people playing and "thinking" big worthy content is on the horizon because of the lucrative event weeks themselves. It's less about encouraging them to save up and more about getting them to play by mindlessly grinding hoping it pays off lol.

Just some thoughts..

5 body suits could equal one a week, ending on the 31st with the update coming that day.

91 days between updates with the two week buffer before rdr2, could be a 10th release.

Time to sign up for guest list ending yesterday, with automatic rewards being given. Notice the newswire didnt mention logging in for the next round of gifts. This could mean update if ready, delay is over, but so happened to occur on independence event week, pushing it to the tenth.

Team "17th" has it being the middle of the month, that's all I got for that date.

Teaser released last monday, we have an understanding trailers come out around 4-5 days before release, possibly Thursday.

And last, QA Beta logic... which still hasn't updated. Meaning a later date like 17th, 24th, or 31st.

Couldn't be more right! Rockstar is about the money. They would honestly be a better company if they communicated a little more.

qabeta2 has been updated twice in the last hour

could it mean something?

Hmmm...

Wasn't qabeta 2 the "final testing" thing a few years back and they later on switched to qabeta?

What if they switched back to qabeta 2 and are currently testing the update?

I think it's more just trying to keep the playerbase active. More people online, more chance for someone to buy a shark card.

Its a way for them to clear their " conscious" & sleep better at night by throwing us a bone ... while of course boosting active player numbers.

I feel like those suits are just a filler, they won't release them all, maybe the one next week and that's about it, we expected them to finish all heists with the bonus and that didn't happen, they already give a locked livery and they didn't unlock all of them, I think it's the same thing with this one too.

I can see that being true. After all I believe these suits have been in the files since DDH.

at the same time they fit perfectly to the clubs) why not to unlock them all via bonus weeks and add another bunch of costumes for the drip feed? (fall and winter)

Cause every couple of months they have to show stats to people on top. They need to prove that they have "X amount of active players"

The messed up part is, they can get a good amount of active players by handling the in-game events and the marketing differently.

Pretty sure more people would log in and play this game if they had a look of what's coming next, the teaser didn't even show any new clothes... dude? Not even clothes? So what am I expecting to see in the next update? New dancing animations? Cool.

They know how PVE stuff are so popular, why not a 3x cash and rp on contact missions? They are not afraid of people making money, they are putting out some good money making events but the whole process is boring and not appealing to many players.

If you log into the game and select the outfit, it shows "Festive Surprise 2017" they were supposed to be out 6-7 months ago.

That could just signal they were added during that update,  but were always meant for the nightclubs... I guess meaning they were working on this update for at least a half year. They dont really fit in with the festive items.

;)

Again, I feel those suits were more likely something originally planned for an adversary mode (probably using the neon grid track pieces/props), going by the colours (purple/orange/pink/green/yellow).

That said, the only new character cosmetics shown in the teaser trailer seem to be ...luminous body paint as a new option, so... :turn:

^ indeed; to clarify I'm not wondering about dance/rave bodysuits as such. It's R*'s particular contributions to this field that make me wonder what kind of clubs they have in mind.

Or even just to keep people from drifting away and not necessarily coming back for a new update - I remember that with Heists, where the months and months of  n o t h i n g  from R* led to people (including forum members I knew) getting bored, moving on to other games, and ...not being so hyped by Heists after all that time that they ever came back. :/

After all, not everyone playing the game is glued to the Newswire, or scours the interwebs for every new leak/tease - there are probably a whole lot of people for whom the nightclub update will be something they hear about ...when they start up the game and get a prompt to download a new update, and more still who maybe just follow R* on Twitter, Facebook, or wherever.

For folks like that, extra ways to earn/save money, or even just things keeping GTAO popping up in their social media feeds, means the difference between GTAO becoming old and stale (and them moving on), and still feeling 'current'. Same applies to drip-feeding - even when people aren't buying the stuff, they still get things like Newswire posts, in-game adverts, etc., all maintaining the idea that GTAO is still being supported, and there's always new stuff happening with the game worth checking out.

Sooooo nightclubs. Are they straight up dance floor night clubs or can we get like a hookah lounge? Lol

i’d hate to have only techno/rave clubs. What about a bar with a dart board or pool table? Or a hip hop club? I really hope they don’t limit us, as this seems to be a pretty big DLC.

Well, they mention nightclubs and warehouses - and by warehouses, that doesn't mean 'more places to store contraband', because we're apparently going to be filling both types with crowds of people listening to the famous real-life DJs coming to GTAO with the update:

"World class talent have announced their upcoming residencies in Los Santos and fans will soon be packing out clubs and warehouses across town to lose themselves in sweaty, ecstatic bliss to hear new sets from Solomun, Tale Of Us, Dixon and The Black Madonna while dancing through the night and into the morning."

From where I'm sitting, that sounds like two types of club (most likely two broad types of interior stylesto choose from - and not that we'll be able to own two different club types simultaneously!) - warehouse-style open-plan things more suited to raves and the like:

gta-online-nightclub.png

...and more traditional nightclubs with seating areas, a bar, etc., in the same manner as Maisonette 9 and the Bahama Mamas franchise:

0034.jpg

maxresdefault.jpg

At least, that's what it sounds like to me - and I hope that's the way they go with them...

But they will.
There are absolutely no signs about other music styles (sadly). All DJ's and R* hints were strictly to techno/rave theme.

so to bring the topic back on the rails and mostly because we have nothing else to talk about anymore maybe i can type down a little car speculation (i won't post pics since it's not the topic for that).

note that not all these are on my wishlist but are just speculation.

aston martin zagato

rolls royce SUV

either a bmw m5 or mercedes S/E class.

toyota supra (ofcourse)

nissan silvia s15

mercedes SLS AMG

doge challenger SRT  (both classic and modern)

ferrari 360 (gta 4 turismo)

ferrari 458 (srsly when are we going to get this one?)

all based on the fact that there will be luxerious cars because nightclubs and that retro cars are the recent hype.

(tried my best to keep it limited with the super cars and only stated the requested ones, but we all know we are only going to get stupid concept and electric supers)

Actually, gunrunning was not so bad. Yes, paywalls, under/overpowered vehicles, but only thing that made GR for me - Its removed hydra griefers from the game. OPressor kids not even a half annoying like Hydra one was, good trade for me

Fair point to be honest. For a long time I kept explosive rounds purely for people spamming jets. After a while I switched to incendiary rounds and chernobog when the jets show up. It's not as effective probably, but I kind of enjoy it more. Aside from the chernobog not aiming higher up. They really should let it do that.

weird since i  still see lot's of jetgriefers these days. it only removed them for like a month max. they are back.

they will never go away.

Problem is that they just play dirtier and dirtier the more you pull out to stop them. I think it boosted passive popping a ton.
