So its a possibility that we might get our police outfits back in the next update?

As likely as you paying your debts.
Clearly not a Lannister.

Goddamn lizard people... you can't trust them!

I've always thought about this, having Shark Cards in the game makes the Casino games (slots, poker etc.) gambling as they all have a random chance of winning.

But what if they were to use a new currency.

Lets say that they use a currency called "Chips", this currency is only used inside of the casino. All of the games inside of the casino require you to pay a certain amount of chips to participate. As with all casino games you can win and lose chips during the game. You can take the chips to the front desk and convert them to GTA$ (1 chip = $10 for example).

Now you're probably thinking "how do we get more chips if we run out?" They can use Job Points (JP). This is that orange currency that you see when you complete jobs. Its main function right now is to decide who the winner is during a playlist. You can take these JPs and convert them into chips (5 JP = 10 chips).

This would remove any "gambling" aspect to the casino as you can't buy either of these currencies with real money. This is only a rough draft of the idea, there are still some thing that need to be ironed out. But i think that this is the a decent solution to how the casino could work.

Yes ! I thought about JP! It would be really a good alternative! Because, it does not serve much ...

All these discussions about random chances and repercussions of the casinos in the era of lootboxes are extremely outdated. Lootboxes and blatant cash grab tools are the reasons I barely play these days.

My 2 favorite games, Forza and GT are dead because of that. I won't touch lootbox-infected piece of sh*t with misleading advertising called Forza 7 with a stick and I made a promise that GTA Online will be the last online game I would play. Like Coleco once said here "f*ck gaming in 2017". Well, 2018 is the same for me.

I think they won't add the casino because they know players would find glitches and exploits like you wouldn't believe (and that's before we even get to actual modders).

GT (Gran Turismo) or GTA?

Cuz the former is doing a great job with actual free DLC.

Originally Job Points were planned to serve for becoming a VIP and to spawn VIP Vehicles.

But because the nature of their Jobs system changed that drastically after release, they scrapped it, and just use them for Playlists now.

I don't think they would serve as a good currency for the Casino either.

Rockstar could easily release a Casino without inflicting with most gambling laws, but it would require a substantial amount of effort and testing.

I am also not really sure why players are so keen to gamble their money away in game, it is not like you make a profit at a Casino, the house always wins.

The thing is if they do add a casino people think that your going to be able to bet millions or even hundreds of thousands of dollars and that won't be the case...they could cap max bets at $9000 like betting on races or maybe even lower...far lower so that it won't become a give money to friends thing...truthfully I imagine you won't see max bets more than $500...and I'm fine with that...just give me the casino

Is it possible for R* to use a modders design from a car like for instance https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/bravado-gauntlet-s

?

They take inspiration from popular/most downloaded mods all the time if thats what you asking for. I'm pretty sure they are closely fallowing the mod community. Or simply people see PC mods and they send requests to R*.

R2k, Deluxo, Oppressor, Phantom wedge, Vigilante, Stromberg - all popular pc mods. I remember downloading stuff like this even back in Vice City days.

but I feel like every time something cool shows up on mod websites it gets copied to online sooner or later

edit:

I mean... just look what SkylineGTRFreak created over all those years. I think he single handedly inspired like... more then 50 vehicles. Probably way more.

Im sure this is old news to any PC player but I was amazed with that Avenger, is that a mod as well?

I guess its pretty sure R* keeps an eye on the modding scene cause I went to take a look on the most downloaded mods and its incredible how many of the cars there have their counterparts in GTA. If those are anything to go by Id say the next vehicles well get likely includes an Audi RS4 knockoff and the new Gauntlet. I am really hoping for the latter, new or classic.

I've said this all along, that they would just put an upper limit on individual bets and a separate limit on how much you could win or lose per in-game day. It wouldn't be that hard to control it so that people aren't making (or losing) a fortune.

I don't know why people keep bringing up the "Legality of a casino" and how to implement the gambling aspect and laws and real money etc...

It's very simple not to mention there are casino games on ps4 right now 4 kings casino being one of them...

It goes like this...you purchase a ps card...you buy chips...with those chips you gamble...if you win.. you win IN GAME MONEY....just like the money you use on GTA...there is no difference between buying car on GTA with shark card money and buying chips and gambling at a VIDEOGAME casino

With regards to the casino and real life issues, couldn't Rockstar just say "we're adding a feature to the game. You don't have to use this feature and there's nothing pushing you or forcing you to. The feature's experience can be bettered by shark cards, but again that's your personal choice"?

Maybe they could circumvent the issue by saying that the Casino doesn't use in-game money, instead, in-game money must be used to purchase Casino Credits which can then be used to bet in games, etc. I dunno about the legalities of this sort of stuff.

Thinking about it, maybe the lottery could come into the game (as apparently it was intended?) and people could just get random tickets to a random prize that changed on a weekly basis (eg, one week it being a car as the prize, next week $500,000, etc).

(EDIT: After having read a few other replies which didn't seem to load, "probably not" is the likely response here ^).

The casino game I posted earlier about 4 kings casino on ps4 you don't necessarily have to purchase chips in order to play..

They have numerous ways where they give away freechips enough to play but not in abundance

You get free chips when you log into the game and if you log in on consecutive days it has a chip multiplier...example.. log in one day get 500 chips...log in the next day get 750 and so on...skip a day it gets reset to 500...as you get the multiplier for a full week then resets each new week

2nd example.. they have daily and weekly challenges that give you free chips....win 5 games of black jack might be a daily challenge...win 50 games of blackjack might be the weekly

3rd example...they have what we call in GTA "Good Behavior Bonus"...but instead of your behaviour they give you chips just for being in the casino...you get free chips for like every half an hour on the game

And last that I can remember they have like a "Wheel of Fortune" when you walk into the casino you get to spin once a day and win whatever prize it stops on...

Just like GTA your not forced to buy shark cards just like your not forced to buy chips but just like GTA the more money you have your able to purchase in game items like clothes , pets , VIP access etc...

GTA could easily copy this formula from another game it's not like they haven't stolen ideas before...

^ That's interesting, but it seems like a legal gray area that might get legislated out of existence eventually. I wouldn't be too surprised if Rockstar just doesn't want to wade into a potential problem that they don't need (after all, they have plenty of non-casino update ideas, and the game makes plenty of money no matter what they add to it, seemingly, as long as they add something).

You could say the same for purchasing loot boxes on games like Overwatch...I'm just saying a lot of people saying you can't because of this and that I'm just pointing out it's already in existence

So far my gains in Casinos far outweigh my losses.

Perhaps because I know when to stop hehe.

But I don't really get the "thrill" of casinos in videogames either.

At this point though, I doubt they'll implement it because they themselves know very well that it's spawn dozens of glitches and exploits.

That's the point. Now imagine what would happen if they bring out an update solely based around money. They would need to fix money exploits and glitches for the next ten years.

I could also think of probably at least 10 other new things which would make more fun that juggling around casino chips.

I meant Gran Turismo Sport and the fact that this thing is online-based game. I don't have issues with paid DLC if the price is reflecting quality of content, paid for Forza DLCs for years, but I won't pay even $1 for loot boxes. It has nothing to do with how great the GTS is as a game, it's my personal preference to play offline games. The last things I enjoyed were Dirt Rally and The life is strange, still to play second part (Before the storm), but with my schedule it's going to be really difficult.

There totally needs to be a weekly lottery though, they've made everything so f*cking expensive it fits right in.

It would be a f*cking great idea as far as I'm concerned.

Something like a 10k optional buy in. 1m payout. Running Tuesday to Tuesday alongside the tunables.

Well and the government of belgium already stated that there are multiple games with lootbox systems who are against belgian law.

The whole gambeling stuff is diffrent in every country. Whats legal in one country is illegal in another one.

And I'm pretty sure that R* is not interessted in a lawsuit about that stuff.

I'd pay 100k a week for a ticket if the jackpot was big enough. A top end I/E car + a VIP work of your choice will cover the cost.

I thought this forum already had come to a consensus that a casino simply will not come to this game?

They'll keep deluding themselves that the casino might come into the game, even after the lootbox controversy that seems tame in comparison is treated as a form of gambling by a handful of European lawmakers.
