Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 6)

That would be awesome tbh. I remember they released the first details of Gunrunning on the 25th of the month before it was out (May 25th, update released June 13th). 

 

Obviously that doesn't mean anything but the update does look to be coming during the middle of next month and it's almost the end of the current month. Same thing happened with last summer's update.

I got one for 150%. That's the highest I've seen.

 

 

I take pictures of all of them because every time I've done it I had to file a support ticket to actually get the money.

On a related note, people have been speculating that this next update will be ridiculously expensive, hence why R* has been running some uncharacteristically generous event weeks recently.

 

I'm actually wondering if that isn't necessarily the case - I mean, in total, the update is probably going to be pretty steep, just because it's going to be a bigger update overall. But I'm not convinced that 'big-money event weeks' equals 'things with ridiculous prices' - for instance, I don't expect nightclubs are going to cost more than facilities, or even hangars, and I'm not predicting something as wallet-gouging as yachts or the Luxor Deluxe, either.

 

Instead, I reckon it's much simpler: what with the delays and all, R* needs something to stop players getting bored and drifting away (and it's pretty clear that the Jester Classic probably isn't coming before the next update at this point...), and they're all out of fresh new content - so how about tempting people with an easy money-making opportunity?

If the next update is going to have a dripfeed as long as the current one and the vehicles are in groups again then it’d be nice if there would be enough vehicles for every week ^^

I have a completely full warehouse with 17 high ends to sell...I would have liked to have farmed fleeca though.

Here's something that might convince you: Smuggler's Run.

 

The only 2x$ I\E we ever had ended on a Monday, the dlc came out on a Tuesday. And there was a couple of 2x$ on Bunkers the weeks before.

 

The Hangars themselves weren't expensive, but the vehicles were ridiculous!!!! Here's some of them:

 

6.5M for the Lazer.

4.4M for the Bombushka*.

3.9M for the Tula.

3.7M for the Vigilante.

3.6M for the Molotok.

3.3M for the Pyro.

3.1M for the Hunter.

 

all the prices I mentioned were the Trade-In discounted prices, except for the Lazer & Vigilante, since they don't have any.

Yeah, but Smuggler's Run was an update based entirely around fancy new aircraft with all-new features - of course those are going to cost several million each. And even then, the hangars themselves aren't all that expensive.

 

Meanwhile, unless this next update comes with a second business thing or property type (which, to be fair, wouldn't be unprecedented - see Import/Export and E&OC), I don't reckon there's going to be a whole load of ridiculously-expensive stuff as the core of the update. After all, the decision to make an entire update revolve around spending millions of dollars on said fancy aircraft got a fair bit of backlash (particularly the $6.5-million-dollar Lazer... ), so I don't see them doing anything quite that brazen this time.

 

Besides, considering the theme, it's not like it makes all that much sense to pack it with multi-million-dollar gimmick vehicles this time - here's hoping, at least...

And to expand on wot I sed before, I definitely think Smuggler's Run was a mistake in that regard - bit like how people complained about the Flight School update back in 2014, only more so.

 

I.e., making an entire update where the average vehicle costs upwards of $2 million dollars, and where the new property is really only worth owning if you pack it full of several of said $2 million+ vehicles? That's just daft, from an "are you having a f***ing laugh, mate?!?" perspective.

 

Simply put, Smuggler's Run was pretty much a paywall update, through and through. They'd be foolish to structure/price another update that way, IMO.

I was under the impression that  the backlash was over the fact that only 5 of the 19 vehicles added were cars (Visione, Rapid GT C, Retinue, Cyclone & Vigilante) & that didn't set well with the people who didn't care about aircrafts ... Especially with Helisexuality dominating the forums at the time.

Since you brought up the Flight School update in your reply to Mach, is it possible that people were upset because only 1 of the 4 vehicles added was a car (Coquette Classic)?

 

I'm not not being snarky or anything, I'm genuinely curious as I wasn't active in the forums back then.

When it comes to prices I think nightclubs will be cheap.  Definitely not more then hangars or facilities. I'm guessing 1-2.8 mills (depending on localization)
+ very expensive customization, vehicles, outfits and daily expenses.

And ofc alcohol, stuff, bodyguards, DJs. Thats at least extra 5-15k for daily expenses.

Yeah, it's beyond ridiculous now. Each update they add around 15-20 new vehicles yet they added only 7 (!) new spots in the entire last year.

I would pay good money for more space.
