Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 6)

Would have rather shot him out of the sky and he crash lands. Cut scene starts. Our character(s) walk through the smoke up to Avon, who is on the ground, trying to back away from us. Begging for his life. In the background you hear Lester talking on the ear piece, "This is what happens when you f*ck with the wrong people etc etc". Walk up, point revolver at Avons head (all in cutscene) "R2 to kill Avon" pops up in the corner of the screen. Puts a hole in his head. Characters walk away together. Slow mo screen, remains of jetpack blow up behind them.

 

 

I imagine we will get new cutscenes for the upcoming update, I hope they are good.

 

 

 

It certainly felt very lackluster. They could have atleast done a Saints Row 2 Dane Vogel-style "falling out of the sky" type cutscene. Give a little more oomph to it.

 

And, seeing as they'd probably have to go through with a bunch of new mocap for a nightclub update, I would be incredibly surprised if there isn't some fancy application beyond the expected.

I was wondering about the upcoming ‘nightlife’ update and am curious to what others think about purchasing Bahama Mamas?

 

Do you think Bahama Mamas will be available for purchase? Or will they use the interior as another building we can use in freeroam like Vanilla Unicorn?

 

Personally I would prefer the latter, having Bahama Mamas and other establishments such as Tequi-la-la each owned by different underworld bosses who in turn give work to get you started in the nightclub industry, once you feel you are ready and have forged enough contacts you may then purchase a property from the Maze Bank foreclosure website and fully renovate into the club of your dreams.

I still reckon Bahama Mamas will either be a mission location (bit like how it's used in TBoGT), and/or a publicly-open social spot, rather than a player-owned club.

 

As for player clubs, I'm going with 'something more like clubhouses' - as in, R* takes any number of blank doors around Los Santos, shoves a corona in front of them, and the interior is a new, modular thing you can customise. They might even do a bit of cosmetic reworking of the map to add some extra doors/signs to the new entrances - after all, they did more drastic alterations for bunkers/facilities.

Bahama Mamas will be opened in freeroam for everyone, just like the strip club. You just enter with no loading screens (cause that interior is already there, just closed)
They will probably use that for a mission or two as well.

Our clubs? new places, loading screens, ability to customize - just like every other property we own. But maybe people can get in without invites? that would be nice.

Yeah thats why i still have small hopes that nightclub is just a cover up for a set of small heists, Vice city style.

True. DDH was originally the main storyline for a Singleplayer DLC. So here's hoping they also start adding any and all of the side stories and activities to GTAO.

Especially when the DLC was still bugged last time I tried Act III and the f*cking game crashed on me as I was about to start chasing Avon in the jetpacks. Needless to say my heist mates just got frustrated with the game after so much effort getting to the end and then crashing.

Also wouldnt mind nightclubs like the one Russell Peters mentions where bomb shelters are converted into one.. Maybe bunker style nightclubs would be damn cool...

They might not have to do all mocaps for this one, The Bikers bike melee attacks were ported straight out of EFLC, no mocap was needed, if there is anything like a dancing mini-game or any animation that is related to the night club, TBOGT assets has got them covered.. maybe some mocap will be needed for cutscenes where some contact introduce the business like what happened with Agent14/Ron in those updates

But hey .. what do I know.

While I agree it was very underwhelming (& it pales in comparison to how Niko did Darko or Venom did Skull face), I'll take killing him any way I get.

Quite probably - after all, I suspect the reason they're reviving Bahama Mamas after all these years is that it's existing WIP content that they can use, rather than having to make something all-new from scratch. There's been a lot of judicious content-reuse, lately...

 

Wouldn't be surprised if they did like with Malc, and actually had Tony Prince as the contact, helping set you up in the intro cutscene when you buy the new property, and being the voice on the phone for all the subsequent work.

^^I could see pets added with a luxury/mansions DLC or an IGG 2 or something.  Maybe some exotic animals too, I mean Scarface had a Tiger ffs! I'd also like giant aquariums, so I can roll like a true villain

I speculate we dont get this in the next dlc...

I speculate they must be having problems with the new DLC. The extreme delay of the Jester, the network problems they had last month, the radio silence...

That means it could be BIG, thus, EXPENSIVE.

 

I'm happy about that.

 

If only we got a couple of good old leaks... I miss the olde days.

Well Yan did say “They took the content from 2 updates to put in this single one”

 

So it’s obviously going to be a big one (Maybe Gunrunning/F&F sized?). Rockstar have also been giving us some incredible $/RP bonuses over the past month.

Eh, don't read too much into all of those things being related to the new update:

 

- the Jester Classic not being released looks very much like a deliberate decision - possibly as a result of the negative feedback so far.

- issues with their services (including Social Club) might well be them upgrading stuff in preparation for RDR2 and Red Dead Online - and there's going to be more of that soon, considering they're going to need to add pages to the Social Club site, maybe adapt how crews work to include Red Dead, etc.

- radio silence is pretty much par for the course with R* - remember the months of nothing in the run-up to Heists?

I don't think they are having any issues with the next DLC, this is all sound like a schedule to put the dripfeed in line with RDR2's release, they said they are putting some RDR2 treasure hunt in gta again, that must also be in line with their marketing plans for the game, the network problems and the radio silence is nothing new for Rockstar, the only thing that's a bit .. weird.. if you wanna call it weird, is the Jester Classic's release, but at this point it sounds like they won't release it until they fix it with the next update

Quite sure release day was June 19th.. planed. That was exactly the distance between the last few DLC AND a week or two after the Jester _would_ have been released. Now I think you'll see the Jester two weeks before the update, which will be with.. or the week after the final double RP heists.

Who knows, we got Smugglers Run a week after the Ardent was released, we got Doomsday Heist 2 or 3 weeks after the Lazer was made available to purchase, they changed the dripfeed releases from one car a week to 2 or 3 cars each 2 or three weeks,there's no pattern here, the 19th could've been the release day, so was the 12th and so was the 6th.

I was thinking with how ignorant they are about the bugs in this game they'll just release the Jester Classic until they fix it with the next update but I don't see that happening anymore.

I'm a patient guy and all, but I gotta admit, I am starting to get a little "finger tap syndrome".

In the meantime, I'm finding myself handling the waiting by accomplishing goals in game (like reaching level 500 yesterday after completing Act II Doomsday with my son, and I'm about 6 million away from hitting $100 million). 

 

Anyone getting restless waiting for something to happen, BUT you still want to play the game, BUT you're also feeling bored, I highly recommend working on achieving goals, doing things you've never done before (like heists for me... long story), doing things you haven't done in awhile, etc.

 

That said, i'm sure something will happen soon... hopefully...

If R* based it around my dreams, Los Santos would end up looking like something from an episode of Power Rangers (what can I say - I'm a sucker for superheroes and giant robots!). 

 

Heh - as much as I want to avoid hyping myself up too much (I'm not expecting them to add every wishlist car I've ever suggested, for example), I just hope it delivers a few small, not-at-all-unreasonable things. One sports car of the type I'd actually want to own in real life, a nice hairdo or two, and some decent clothing items that aren't rendered unusable by horrible low-res textures - that's really all I want from the game in general at this point, but considering past updates, it's anyone's guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
