Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 6)

I've been having this sense of dread over the upcoming update. Think about this; R* really pushed their luck in some way with the 3 major DLC's of 2017 to push Shark Cards.

- Gunrunning, 3 months of RNG research or $10 million-ish to fast track it all.

- Smugglers Run, The $6.5 paint job and tracker for the Lazer, right at the end of the dripfeed to bankrupt people right before announcing Doomsday Heist

- Doomsday, the almost nearly redundant Facility, Orbital Cannon, combined with all the meme vehicles.

 

I have a feeling they're gonna add in this one BIG thing that only the guys well into the 8-figure finance club can afford.

 

Or am I just being paranoid?

They won't add anything that cost significantly more than a Megaladon Card.

 

Also just to throw this out there, that's why most cars are around 700k-1.2 mil. Those cars are specifically priced to sell the $20 shark cards. The best selling of the bunch.

@Zak Ras Mach is right, one item is never costing a huge amount. The upgrades is where they get you. Look at offices, pretty affordable until you add on the garage(s), customization, etc

 

Same with the Bunker and its upgrades + MOC, Hangars, the list goes on. Even stuff like the Orbital Cannon as you mentioned.

It's possible they could add another ultra-expensive luxury vehicle in the tradition of the Luxor Deluxe, but like the Luxor (and the Swift, and frankly, the Yacht) it'd serve no purpose besides vanity.

But even then, you DONT have to spend the money on those upgrades,  so yes, that is where they get you , if ya let them.

Cant disagree with this, it would not be smart on R* part to do so.

 

R* should add the amount of Shark Cards each item is gonna cost within the product listing

Guys, i've ran thought all the DDH again, and what i've noticed? They didn't used the most memetic character of original heists - Avi Schwartzman. I can't tell why, because he fits perfect in the plot and atmosphere of this DLC. I hope they'll reuse him later, just like the did with Agent 14 and Ron

I really wish in the next update they fix most of the vehicle's steering wheel position so we could see the damn dashboard driving in first person.

Any additions to classic cars is a big YES for me.. More the merrier in that category.. Enough of the flying and weaponised stuff..We need to move on to more classy stuff..

 

Maybe have the car dancing competition outside Night clubs to keep the party going.. Things that would get players together and have a good time instead of a grind fest..

At this rate, I would be guessing we're looking at a July 24th release.

On the flipside, I'm hoping there may be 30 or more vehicles (30 could mean 10 released, 20 dripfed over 20 weeks taking us to the 11th of December, or them releasing two at a time over 10 weeks) and plenty of retro and hipster clothing to cater for both male and females. 

 

I also suspect that unless they really are saving it to release next week (or one of the following on the run-up to the update), the Jester Classic might get some proper reworking and whilst they're at it, it'd be nice to see some handling changes to give the Pariah a run for it's money. But I do hope it's a whole new Supra and in that case obviously the players who purchased the original from weeks back need to be reimbursed. 

 

Looking forward to the new music - hoping it's a new radio station or two but maybe it'd just be inside-club music or part of minigames? (Surely they won't be that short-minded, oh hang on who're we talking about here?) 
Anyway I hope we hear some news soon, this wait with only one garage slot remaining for me is a pickle as I really want to play with some new toys but even after being ruthlessly minded, I can't get rid of any of my current collection.

Is it just me, or does the name ‘nightlife’ not say much for content. I mean yes, nightclubs and some simple cars. But if the leaks are correct, i believe them to take a whole lot of stuff they always wanted to add, and make this dlc like the leftover dlc

Whatever comes with the next update. I really hope they surprise us like with the DDH trailer.

 

With a bonus footage showing the Jester Classic getting re-categorized into the sports class and as a Benny's vehicle in all of it's glory.

I was in a parking lot waiting to go to a job interview when the DDH trailer dropped and I was so mad I couldn't watch it until I got home lol

 

As soon as I saw the word heist though I just wanted to drive back home so badly

I'm not touching Act III with a ten foot pole even if they triple it 

 

Pac Standard is mind numbing at this point but I'll probably do one every other day at best. As for Series A.... yeah I'm good.

dont know about others, but when i give to my friend more then 60%(about 1.4m) in act II then it does not give him the money and it says transaction failed at the end, so if they double the third act then i will have to play with with full 4-people squad in order to actually recieve the money

Neither does transparency if they can't deliver or change plans halfway through. It could do more harm than good for them.

 

I've been down that road with Microsoft & Windows Phone. They promise features X, Y & Z, say they are coming "Soon™" & eventually can't deliver them ... Instead they come up with a half baked feature M.

 

I'd rather waiting not knowing & be surprised than waiting for something that might be not happen or delivered halfassed.

I would maybe play the act III, because i still have to play it as host, at least once. I still don't have the gratis lester services. Because i only played it one time, with a friend as host. This way I will at least find ppl, to play the finale. It's already paid for it, and active already got the freeroam prepare missions done, so i will only have to do the actual setups, and the heist itself.

Therefore I think a drag racing mode with a drag version of Ellie is coming with the next update.

- Nightclub stuff is probably going to draw upon TBoGT - right down to Bahama Mamas in both.

- TBoGT was set in Liberty City.

I can live with the finale - kinda.

 

If I'm hopping between missions via quick job, and it's something like Rescue ULP, or worse, Rescue Agent 14 (), though? HARD PASS.

Flying Deluxos, a ridiculous story with invisible minigun-wielding cyborg clone juggernauts, underground bases with their own Death Star button, and ...yeah, fine the drip-feed cars were pretty good, I'll give it that.

 

I really would like for this next thing to actually be properly Good™ this time, not just 'the drip-feed makes all the other BS worthwhile'...

Not really tbh. The way they made us do it was the most anti climatic way they could have possibly chosen imo. 

 

 

Would have rather shot him out of the sky and he crash lands. Cut scene starts. Our character(s) walk through the smoke up to Avon, who is on the ground, trying to back away from us. Begging for his life. In the background you hear Lester talking on the ear piece, "This is what happens when you f*ck with the wrong people etc etc". Walk up, point revolver at Avons head (all in cutscene) "R2 to kill Avon" pops up in the corner of the screen. Puts a hole in his head. Characters walk away together. Slow mo screen, remains of jetpack blow up behind them.

 

 

I imagine we will get new cutscenes for the upcoming update, I hope they are good.
