Eh, It's an o.k. mode. Certainly better than others. However, I feel its still pretty lack luster, especially with it being locked to only 4 players.

4 players is very well balanced, I have won about as many times as I have lost, both as interceptor and runner...

plus with it being only 4 players it is easy to play full matches

I found some interesting details regarding the next DLC.

If a rival player who own a Hangar or Facility takes your Air-freight cargo or Heist Prep equipment then he can take it to his own business, it's common sense right ?

Now it check if the destination is his own Hangar/Facility and then execute the code that process things while you're delivering it.

In other words, he can deliver it to somewhere else which could be the location of the new business.

A new base of operations that store pretty much everything.

Another change I have noticed is the Avenger function to check if you're executing the "Hold X to enter the Avenger's hold" code.

It's typical that it will execute the code to the player so he will move and enter the hold. Even if you have a passenger, that player would execute the code to his character.

Now it's not limited to the player, making it possible to pick NPCs and have them enter the Avenger's hold.

Finally, they have updated a function that list props to apply the native "CREATE_MODEL_HIDE" to them.

I don't know what that native does but almost every prop/object listed is near the location of a business supply mission.

Thanks to @WildBrick142, he used his mad skillz to check the coordinates I've given him.

I had a look at these coords in game, the first one is a chair inside the police station

zXWanD4.png

meanwhile the dumpster is here

lJ6LU3W.png

That's really interesting.

One of them is a chair inside the Police station, the other is a dumpster in front of the Police department.

I assume the new business will give us missions where we have to deal with the cops or work with them.

That sounds interesting, would be cool to finally use those scrapped tuning parts for the police cruiser.

Calling it now, next update allows us to store police cars.

yes-please-fg67gd.jpg

Add a property with a 20 car garage and helipad where we can store additional personal aircraft (helicopters only) and I can die happy.

So, the new business activities all center around stealing stuff from other players engaging in the other businesses? And it involves the police station somehow?

I'm thinking this is like a Vigilante mode that is all about interfering with anyone doing anything illegal- including all the existing businesses. They won't directly make you a cop but you'll be a cop in all but name.

speculation:

we get an unannounced LC expansion and a "remaster" of IV that comes bundled with GTaO next Thursday...

I love how you go out of your way to type GTaO but you can't be arsed to start your sentence with an uppercase letter.

What if the next dlc is a police update where we play as dirty cops? All the supplies and everything could be stored in a police warehouse. Our next job would be sneaking the items out of the warehouse without getting caught. “Stuff always goes missing from evidence.” It would fit in terms of the police station too as we would have our own office inside the department. We can do missions as cops to steal cargo and such being delivered by other players and then taking it back to the lockup.

Inb4 we literally have to purchase a police station and work out of that for the next update. Also where we store police vehicles.

I feel like you're not looking at the bigger picture. The more they try to keep an almost 5 year old game relevant the more crazy they have to get with new content. Some people might embrace the wacky content but I read the comments on facebook for new GTAO posts and it looks like the gimmicks are starting to wear thin with the average player.

I guess a way to describe the problem with keeping the updates going as some sort of analogy is pre online GTA being that fun friend/relative with allot of stories to tell that would visit once every few years, but never long enough to outstay their welcome. GTA during this online era is like if that friend moved in for 4 years straight. At first it was great but eventually they started repeating those crazy stories and you started noticing all their bad habbits. Not to say that's completely a bad thing but I feel the mystique of the franchise is currently gone at the moment. If they released a trailer for GTAVI this October the level of hype would be nowhere near what it was for GTAV's reveal when we were losing our minds on here waiting for anything GTA related.

R* has a lot of money, and a lot of studios, most of those studios haven't published a game in years, R* has a dedicated team for VI, and a dedicated team for Online, the numbers are there, like he said, $300-$400 mil a quarter is insane, there is no way Online is ever going to die, it will evolve when GTA Next comes out but it is not going away... plus GTA Next is probably 3 or 4 years out, that is almost as old as Online is currently, plenty of time for new updates...

My argument wasn't about if they could continue but more if they should and risk oversaturating the GTA brand to the average consumer. Before GTAO any new GTA related news would be an event in itself but now a new car or a new adversary mode every week makes new GTA content something people just shrug and scroll past on their timeline. It's the equivalent to an artist that disappears from the limelight releases a solid project and disappears again compared to an artist that drops 3 albums and 12 mixtapes a year. Right now you could probably think of quite a few big artist that use the former method for rolling out new music and you could also probably think of a few that did the latter and lost relevance.

Also I think the next GTA is allot closer than we would think. Especially if the rumours of PS5 releasing 2019/2020 are true I really don't see Rockstar missing out on such a big install base.

Just to remind you that it's part of a function that list world props featured in supply missions.

Those props in the pics are likely to be featured in the new missions in which we will act as cops or deal with them, it's not a confirmation that we will be able to store cop cars.

Also I have misunderstood the function that deal with the new event again.

To make it simple, we can collect more than one cargo during the new event.

This new Penned In event would work like one of the Battle royale games where the zone acts as the storm while allowing you to collect infinite cargo inside the zone and deliver them to your base as long as you make it in time.

The rumour of the next 'final' DLC business amalgamation and the few posts above got me thinking...

What's the constantly present factor in practically all businesses that we've dealt with over the last few years?

Law enforcement.

And as, for some reason, we can only ask Lester to shoo them away rather than buying them out ourselves, what better way to circumvent the law than to get a person on the inside... or ourselves on the inside...

-

Anyhow, just spitballing. Would make sense to me is all - as we've taken over the rest of San Andreas, why not let that be the final solution?

(oh, and Merryweather Dilletante and access to 'impounded' Lost Slamvan, Space Docker, and Pegasus stuff would be nice too. Y'know... being the law and all)

Perhaps because GTA and Online are literally crime sims? Don't get me wrong, given the two clues Fun and Wildbrick found, it would seem like an upcoming DLC would have something directly to do with working with the police, but saying that because we've been breaking the law and been against the cops every update previous, must mean this update we'll finally be working with them, is definitely one of the weakest connections I've seen.

Personally, I don't really care about being able to RP as cops, and the only vehicles I'd be interested in are the FIB unmarked Buffalo and the Police Stanier with Bullbars and cop car wheels. Hell, like someone said earlier, I'd dig something akin to the Blues Brothers where we could buy decommissioned cop cars, like a Police Cruiser in black and white minus the lights or numbers.

Well, that kills my little hype.

I bet we will just pose as cops to steal some cargo, seems quite obvious to me.

It will be Prison Break - Station all over again.

Well it would work with that supposed consolidation of the bussinesses.

We "confiscate" any form of illegal cargo, get it to a warehouse were "evidence" is stored and later on sell this cargo for our profit.

@Piro, the Blues Brothers version of the Vespucci job would be great, they could probably even open up that mall next to LS Customs in order for us to drive in. It would also be great if the Gauntlet Classic gets added along with a Vanishing point style AM that has you driving through checkpoints in Blaine County with an X amount of players trying to stop you. If the mode ends up lasting longer than 5 minutes or so one of the players has an option to enter a Dukes not to far away from the chase to try and stop the pursuit. Just like the movie!

I could see this. Maybe we will get to hire police officers that will help us with various tasks or even completely ignore our illegal operations as long as they are on the payroll. It would be like "cops turn a blind eye" but on crack.

I'd feel more like a criminal warlord then..any bad guy ever had either cops or military on payroll.. lol

Exactly!

If this update really is a "Empire Business" type update where it combines all our business' into one then it would make some sense for them to add a feature like that.

mmm naa, the next gta im pretty sure still a solid 3 years away, R* dont have to worry about being early adopters of the newer consoles, they can always opt for the double dip by releasing the game during the final cycle of the current consoles and later on the newer consoles.

Can the new business be done in a solo public session?

Pretty sure that one R* employee said a police dlc or whatever not gonna happen

One employee does not speak for the entire company. Plans change. Creative direction changes.
