Is that why R* servers are so unstable these days? Yesterday I continuously got the save failed, cant connect to server message. And I got that a lot erlier last week as well. Very unusual for me. Edited by Fatsanchez

I would imagine Nightclubs are just a front for an illegal business. I wouldn't be surprised if we can deal drugs out of the back room or something.

Two words: fight clubs.

 

The fighting in the cages was in TBOGT and I wouldn't mind them to reappear

The income should be different though, we should get it daily(or weekly like in SP) without having to do any mission.

 

I'm not sure about you, but daily or weekly income sound good to me if I don't have to do any sale mission again. Provided the payout is marginally decent.

 

This is what makes sense the most for me.

I agree with this...but odds of it happening? slim to noneI just have to ask what you agree with because it makes no sense to me what you write.

His whole post is based on what or how he thinks the business part of the nightclub will work and you say you agree but odds of it happening are slim to none.. Do you agree and believe that the business part will work as he described but the chances of it happening are slim to none?

 

 

 

I kind of like the idea here and I just hope we can buy the supplies for our nightclubs

Something to do with police being part of the next update, and the effects that playing as a cop will have on existing activities/checking for bugs perhaps. Or maybe a change to police AI/actions/behaviour could be a part of the next update.

no matter how much I like that...but no I don't think we'll ever be the good guys (besides DDH). I mean if it's about corruption then yes I can see us working with cops...but never being one

Could have to collect fighters, even take the loser to hospital after, lol.

 

Also, like Vice City with the porno studio, might have to do jobs like fly a Dodo and drop fliers to promote the show. (Basically a checkpoints mini game/mission).

I'm almost certain that the whole ordeal with cops in the next update will just be some kind fetch quest.

 

Simply put, the devs don't think we should play as cops, even though vigilante work is something that is part of the series since 2001.

 

Unless they are changing their opinions on this, unlikely though.

I'm aware of what you're talking about. It usually happens in game development, developers make the structure for a future update while still working on the next update but it doesn't make sense to use tunables for that.

 

I mean, are there different reasons for server downtime? With one thing being worse than the other? Like, should we expect a fix soon?

I don't know about that, if anyone does he must be an insider or work at R*

I'm aware of what you're talking about. It usually happens in game development, developers make the structure for a future update while still working on the next update but it doesn't make sense to use tunables for that.

You don't expect the unexpected in game development.

Expect R* will lose all the game assets and backups and cancel GTA Online ?

If this does include the business consolidation, and does afford passive income, then this is how I would like to see it done. The club(s) you own contain an office where you can manage all your business ventures. Each business you own is represented in the club, say for each biker business you have a dealer in your club, Dudes selling weed, meth, and coke in the bathroom. Dude selling fake id's outside. Dude laundering counterfeit money at the door. Arrange some smuggling with the guy at the bar. Dude selling weapons out of the back room. Maybe someone selling hot cars in the alley out back.

 

As for the amount of passive income... I think it should offset, or maybe be double the amount, of existing business costs. As long as you keep everything running smooth and supplied, You are no longer losing the massive amounts of money that can add up for property rent, employee fees, and other costs.

 

Of course new jobs let you take a more active role for extra cash, like maybe you use your hangar to arrange tours using your aircraft, or smuggle people around the map. Sell a large quantity to a buyer with deep pockets, but watch out, it could be an undercover cop. Someone OD's at your club, can't have that, choose either to get them to a hospital or ditch the body somewhere it won't be found. Stop pick pockets at the club. And yes, of course, underground fight rings...

I agree with that...I doubt it'll happen...but again it's just speculation...the only ones who know are R* and the Devs

@wisdom000 Not that Fun needs defending but tbh I didnt take what he said as a negation to what you said. Just spitting out information IMO.

 

That said I would also like to see things done the way you envisioned. I think there is more to this update than these nightclubs and thats whats making me hopeful.

Quite probably a front - but not just that. Or at least, I reckon there are some simple ways to use a nightclub business as more than just a disguise for ...more contraband delivery stuff.

 

R* could easily turn the club itself into a bigger, more elaborate, persistent take on things like weed farms from Bikers - you're hiring workers and keeping the place stocked up, but with, say, bartenders, janitors, etc., and keeping the drinks (and whatever else...) topped up.

 

There's also the idea of it being something you run on behalf of someone else - for instance, if you're running the place and some mobster wants a cut, you'll need to keep things afloat enough to be able to give them said cut when they come knocking (or else!).

 

 

I'm reminded of Sammy's, the bar from Mafia III - in the main story, it starts off as the front for his criminal operation, while also turning over a percentage of the 'legitimate' profits to regional mob boss Sal Marcano. Later on, you get to give the place a makeover, hire entertainers and stock the place up, and also fend off thugs wanting to trash the joint. All of that could work really well in GTAO, and it wouldn't be difficult just to replicate those kinds of activities almost to the letter. :)

I don't expect much from rockstar - just a copy paste job, especially if they have been working on this supposed 'business consolidation', which I imagine was plenty of work
