Hopefully we will get a new rock radio station in the next update.

i kinda like excited because they probably will add PMR from the cut content, but then i think again, nah if they're adding rock stations the song will probably be 70s and 80s rock or worse the ones like the in the vbr, because the song will be cheaper to licensePMR was the beta name for VBR, if I'm not mistaken it had a similar lineup, with the the exception of a few songs that never made into the game.

If there's any cut radio station that I wish they would bring back, it would be that Kavinski radio station.

(Yes I'm aware that radio station was never a thing to begin with, but how I wish it was - kavinski would be perfect for GTA)

Any new leaks? I wasn't keeping myself up to date for the last three months.

There's so few leaks in GTAO because people lost the real interest in it. Even developers.

that's not why there are so few leaks...

"interest" is at an all time high if anything, just look at the sales numbers and the fact that 4 and half years on it is still consistently in the top 40 20 and even 10 selling games...

No the reason, I would argue, is because of the increased interest and hype. the leaks are being plugged, that's all, nothing more.

~tinfoil hat time~

most reputable leakers have been shut down by Take Two, except Yan, well he was too, that is why he would only change his banner, his last two leaks have been more tho, my theory is he has permission from Take Two to leak sanctioned leaks when and where they deem reasonable... just my theory...

back ot: who thinks we get a map expansion for IV's anniversary? I DO!! can't wait...

yep i know it's the beta of VBR, but the music are different, VBR is more like today's indie rock while PMR mostly include some late 90s and early 2000s alternative rock mansun oasis staind charlatans etc, kinda like a modern version of san andreas channel x the 90s alternative rock vibe, just like wave 103 in vice city the 80s vibe new wave

Not sure about kavinski though never heard of it before, but to each of it's own taste i suppose, what genre does it play that kavinski stuff?

Yeah, i can't argue with the sale numbers.

But i mean the real interest. Like people who want to stay with this game for a decent amount of time, reading all the news, hyped for updates ect. Not the ones, who play it like for a couple of weeks and then abandon or just hack around in Online.

also clearly up since until recently GTA O had the highest number of concurrent users, just surpassed by Fortnite, but it is still in 2nd. I still don't get what you are on about, the game is one of the most popular games on the planet with literally thousands of things to do in it, if you are bored or "uninterested" in it you are doing it wrong.

All we know about the next update is what Yan hinted at about consolidation of previous businesses. Hopefully it also fixes all of the major issues with the SSASS cars..

So next batch of vehicles is the Sparrow, Flash, and Issi Classic, what is the batch following those? Cherubek/ect?

why do you think there were no new titles between 2013 and up-to 2017 when RDR(2?) was announced?

Because they don't pump and dump games like other franchises do. If you follow the trend from the last several titles, it takes as many years to create as the number. So we should be looking at GTA VI next year (pure speculation).

From GTA III to SA: ~3 years

From SA to GTA IV: ~4 years

From GTA IV to V: ~5 years

From GTA V to VI: ~6 years????? (2019)

But that would be on the heals of RDR2, so maybe 2020.

2020 would be stupid because not all GTA fans will buy/like RDR2.

How do I keep interest in a 4 year old game, that is currently obviously being milked to death? Because even the updates are half assed, make no sense... and don't contribute to the longevity of this game with reused and reskinned things like engine sound, car handling, business models, weapons that all feel the same, clothes that are restricted and look unpolished. Oh man, I can go on forever. Still stuck in the clouds in 2018, joining missions is a pain in the ass, sh*tty payouts. etc etc etc..

You never played RDR either? Back when it was released I didnt expect much. The wild west, horses? How fun can it be? I thought. But then, its a R* game and theyd just released GTA IV, TLaD & TBoGT, so I figured Id try it out.

Turned out to be one of the best gaming experiences Ive ever had.

Just saying. Its kind of like those folks who wont see older/black&white movies because they seem outdated. Watch Repulsion by Roman Polanski and then try and say its a dull film...

If I get half what I got from RDR2 as last time, I'm gold for a good year or more, lol.

This game made me open up to western movies. Deadwood was awesome too,

I mean, people who like more grounded games and like R* will probably make the switch to RDR2... GTAO became so weaponized that it's not really GTA anymore. If GTAO was anything like what was found in the dev kit version, I wouldn't be talking badly about it.

My worry with RDR2 is that R* hits the ground running with it in the same manner as current GTAO updates... :/

And I don't mean that in terms of 'weaponised horses' or anything like that - I mean the more intrinsic stuff, like how I suspect it'll have equivalent versions of gimmicky adversary modes/Freemode events. That, and not much emphasis on personalising your experience - I expect character creation/customisation in RDR2 multiplayer to be a real backwards step compared to even the early days of GTAO (wouldn't be surprised if they went the route of GTA IV, where you're essentially playing using NPC assets).

I can't help but feel that R*'s priorities have shifted from where they were back in 2013 - partly due to the unexpected/unprecedented success of GTAO, but also because of different people calling the shots, with a fundamentally different game design philosophy. And IMO, not really for the better.

They still haven't fixed the Faction and its problem with curbs is caused by a single line in its handling file

which line?

According to this post, it is the model flag DONT_FORCE_GRND_CLEARANCE

Just came across this, I'm that vehicle dev. The flag is the model flag DONT_FORCE_GRND_CLEARANCE and it's applied to not just the Faction, but every vehicle in the original lowriders update (not classic customs) and possibly some basegame vehicles like the Lawn Mower but I've never bothered to check

The game has a mechanic to give cars the ground clearance to go over bumps and kerbs and whatnot at high speeds without issue and what this flag does is weaken it to the point where it's almost not a thing at all. Why this had such a monstrous effect on the Faction is probably just due to it having just the right amount of ground clearance to launch whereas the other lowriders were too low so they just clattered into kerbs and the Moonbeam is too high. It was obviously an intentional addition because they're lowriders, vehicles famous for bottoming out and stuff. The reason the Moonbeam and Faction also got the flag is simply because they share handling data with their lowrider counterparts

Regardless of whether it will realistically happen or not, the most exciting aspect of a map expansion for me would be new landscapes to build races on. LC is definitely a lot of grid pattern streets, but there are enough unique areas and verticality to make some decent street races. That, and then obviously a fresh setting for missions, DMs, Survivals, ect.

It still seems pretty unlikely to me, but I would pay full price for a map addition for GTAO.

I still think a map expansion is way too much work for them to take on at this point in GTA V's life, although it would be nice to be wrong about that.

I think the biggest impact item we could see would be the aircraft carrier, because the model exists and they were able to add it to the map way back in the heists update. Whether it's likely, I'm not sure - I suspect you'd have to make them immobile, and sitting right out at the edges of the map where they could be eternally becalmed, and they wouldn't have to worry about having to render lots of geometry on screen (since land wouldn't be visible). At the edges of the map you should be able to space them widely enough that they wouldn't be visible (or hardly visible, i.e. aggressive LOD) from each other.

It would be a lot of work, but maybe possible if they wanted to go out with a bang. I think it's probably the one thing they could add to the game at this point and charge a ridiculous amount for (e.g. $30m), to keep people playing (grinding) after the DLC releases come to an end.

Nobody can argue that the game has no flourishing and thriving fanbase, its just that day-one fans seem to be getting tired of the bugs, copy-and-paste updates, ridiculous prices and emphasis on encouraging Shark Card sales. This is all based on my own experience so I could be wrong, but at least 75% of my friends list was only ever on GTA and that has since dropped to maybe a quarter of it. Edited by —TheSquid—

Totally agree. I never in a million years thought I would be playing a game as a cowboy out in the old west. With RDR2, it not only was a fun game to play, the experience it provided was incredible. I still get goosebumps thinking about the transition into Mexico with a beautiful sunset, and Far Away playing in the background.
