But could the AMs not release on a different date? A date without any vehicles?

I don't know why curb boosting is so important to people. You try that in real life and you'll destroy anything that's slightly hanging low under your car, including your oil pan. You're not supposed to drive on top of those, it's a broken game mechanic to begin with.

Have you seen many people that say it's important and they want it to stay?

It might be a broken game mechanic but it's better to have it than actually breaking the new cars even more imo. If they could get rid of it without ruining every car I'd be all for it but seeing the new cars it really wasn't a successful attempt on fixing anything imo

 

Broughy did mention that it looks like they're testing the water for the next game. GTA V is 4+ years old now and as much as Online is a milk cow for Take Two, they'll have to move on to the next game and that won't be in 4 more years... They can't add new flags to newer cars without changing the old ones, as any of the cars added from now on wouldn't be competitive. Maybe those flags will be removed from the new cars and only used again in GTA VI.

That is broughys theory and probably not much more imo but don't see how that answers my question and is related to why I asked that question in the first place, you kind of answered it without answering it.

If it's really testing for the next gta, does that mean it will be built on the same engine and that we won't see much changes in game mechanic in general? Why else would they test anything related to the next gta in GTAO if wasn't pretty much same game mechanics etc etc? Don't know much about this but if the next gta will be totally different in every aspect it doesn't make that much sense to test it in this game..

 

How would it work out if they tested cars in gta4 and used them here? From what I've heard the handling is relatively different so would it make sense?

 

As I said I don't know much about this so it is possible it makes a lot of sense to people that know more about this

All is possible. But... This calendar fits 1:1 to our leaks and R* Newswires. That's why I doubt :)

Maybe between release dates we will get Grinding Business weeks and tasty sales...

Riding the kerbs is a big part of racing in real life, and a major component of race car setup. It just doesn't give you a power increase in real life, and you don't do it on the straights ;)

 

The idea with the flags is fine, but they needed to boost the car stats to compensate. If the new cars got no benefit from kerb boosting it the rest of it, and were still competitive with the older cars, everyone would be saying what a good job Rockstar did. Sadly, that didn't happen, and the new cars are terribly slow and uncompetitive.

You want to hit the apex, which happens to put your wheels on the curb, not riding fully over it. Most tracks have serrated curbs, you don't want to spend too much time on those anyway.

 

I'm sure R* will do something about it. Releasing new cars that are slower is not something they usually do. They always release something that's OP'er than the previous vehicles to make them obsolete and "force" people into buying them.

Race "Congestion charge", no contact. Three cars - XXR, 811 and me on Visione. From beginning all through the high way before section near LSC XXR has been in the second position after 811, when race get down to the streets, XXR lost 10 seconds there, I had a feeling I have overtaken it standing still, because Visione just started to being pushed forward on this roads. Would be cool if it happen to both racers? Yes. Especially to 811 that been also already 1-2 seconds ahead from me.

 

About last argument you brought. I saw it many times, you go after a guy with all way boosting and only see him having better acceleration and higher top speed. Is it helps him? Yes. Is it sport? No. Is it fun to ride sidewalks? I don't know, may be. The same old story about Nürburgring short cut, why racer should go on track, if his car do better across? Because racing, not cruise.

Obviously the ideal situation would be to remove curb boosting without also f*cking up "midrange speed boost" and also without the cars bogging down when reaching rev limit. Just seems a lot to ask from the clearly incompetent team that handles GTAO these days..

So you've seen many times that inexperienced racers won only because of curb boosting? Maybe I misunderstood what you meant?

If you have two people with same skill level, same car and one is curb boosting and one is not, of course the guy curb boosting will win

 

Only natural that 811 and XXR will be ahead when you come down to the city in congestion charge since they have higher top speed than the Visione, the reason you caught the XXR so badly when you come down the city is because it's broken beyond being useless and have nothing to do with curb boosting. You start getting corners that the XXR just can't handle very well so that's probably why you suddenly past him and it looked like he was standing still. You think it was because of curb boosting and also say that it would be cool if it happened to both racers? I might misunderstand what you meant there tho but that was how I understood it at least and if that's the case you're kind of contradicting yourself unless I've totally misunderstood your first post and you actually want them to fix the new cars so they benefits from curb boosting?

There's also a lot more factors in play here like how experienced the drivers is and other things also. To get an accurate answer/result on this you need to use the same driver under same conditions with the different cars. If I get time later and feel like it I might do a test with the XXR and visione on that track and make a side by side comparison video.

 

The XXR also get benefit from curb boosting, just not as much as the old cars

Also according to people on the nodo forum the old cars get different effects from curb boosting and that also seems right with some of my observations

 

It might seem like I'm advocating for curb boosting but I'm not against it being removed as long as they find a way of doing it without ruining every new car in the game and also all the old ones if they decide to implement that idiotic new handling thing on them also.

From what I understand the hotring sabre also have some of the new handling flags but that car get the same effect from curb boosting as a lot of the old cars

 

Also adding this sh*t to old cars could start a riot because of how many good races it would make useless. I've done some really good Osiris only races that you go through without problems just holding R2 down, that would probably not happen with the handling bullsh*t

Not only is this update trash, but the way they're carrying out the drip feed is trash too.

 

Not to mention the fact that all the good cars are in the f*cking drip feed too...

It's obviously the speculating about what physics model Rockstar about to use and discussion about it. As for what you said, I don't really care how it is. It's not like it will be game changing moment neither they remove the flag or add it to everything - both variants work perfectly fine for the direction Rockstar made - stunt races. Better hope that Super cars will not be like Lowriders, as one of response from Rockstar about it was like: "Those cars low, they should bottoming and scratch surface".

The unreleased Overflod have a estimated time of 3 seconds faster on broughys track without the handling flag than with it. If they add those flags on the existing cars so they suddenly will be maybe 2-3 seconds slower on the same track will not be a game changing moment?? Can I have some of the things you're high on? I'm sure that will give high a whole new meaning ;)

 

That might have sounded a little more harsh than it was meant but I think we'll just have to agree to disagree and realize that we're to far away in view points to even speculate/discuss this matter
