Tell them that the engine resistance stat, the flag that not only removes the midrange speed boost but bogs the car down, and the rev cap that also bogs the car down ruins the experience of driving this latest batch of cars. Tell them they stand out like sore thumbs compared to the older cars that don't suffer the same issues and that you feel ripped off. Obviously you may want to clean those points up a bit and use better tact, also tell them you refuse to buy any more cars or shark cards until these cars are fixed to perform like the rest of the cars in the game.

Once again, the engine resistance stat has nothing to do with the this.

What is it then? And what is the engine resistance stat or what does it do? Sorry if this has been said somewhere and I missed it but I thought the new cars and the Viseris was useless and ruined because of this

/\ 4x4 variant aint anywhere on the mods list so thats y Im still thinking its a seperare variant. Maybe a private mod..

It's not a mod it's an actual vehicle in the game that's not out yet.
Hmm.. But strange that it isnt on dripfeed list. And the only extra customization I saw on the 6x6 variant is changing the weapons so the 4x4 cant be a customization option either.. Cut vehicle planned for future dlc, perhaps? Edit: so many different answers to my question that I dont even know whether or not its real or fake.

It's a mod by Bob322. It looks like it isn't public yet. Stig even says "by Bob322" when he posted the pics.

Well mostly the front bumper, that is flat and doesn't look like something period correct, like a God damn restomod, as well as other design clues, almost lack of any customization, the fact that it is based on a fugly Eleanor from new film and not on Mach1 and the name...

Right. On that custom car. But they didn't do that. They did it the correct way. See, the whole point of the custom bumper is to let more air to the radiator for racing, which is why the bumper was put on the GT350R in the first place. Fog lamps in the bumper cavity would hinder the airflow.

He provided some info about this near the top of page 4713. Not sure if its correct or not but thats where it is

So engine resistance IS one of four contributing factors to why they are slow, it's part of the problem no matter how you slice it. Metoxys, the maker of the video you cite agreed herself in the thread she made in the vehicles section..

They have to fix this, as a racing update cannot contain all cars that suck at racing.

I'm not sure how over the various pages and threads the information had gotten so hard to understand...

 

The Viseris can't "mid-drive speed boost" anymore, right?

You're suggesting it's because of the engine resistance or advanced flags in the handling, right?

These engine resistance and advanced flags are in the handling.meta file for the latest "mpassault" update, right?

 

Well then, the engine resistance and advanced flags can't be the reason for the Viseris NOT being able to mid-drive speed boost, as explained...

The handling.meta - the file which contains data for the Viseris - does not contain these lines as it hasn't been touched. If you check update.rpf / dlc_patch / mpchristmas2017 (the Doomsday Heist DLC Patch folder) the only file they updated is the "vehicles.meta" file, which doesn't contain these "restricting" lines and doesn't make any change to the Viseris anyway.

 

As a result, it can only be obvious that the mid-drive speed boost is controlled via something NOT contained in a file, or not one that's been touched recently or that anyone can find or knows about, etc.

 

I mentioned that Rockstar had previously (prior to 2018) messed with ALL the vehicles in the game at one point, preventing ALL of them from mid-drive speed boosting. Well this is now happening again and if it ONLY happened for the brand new vehicles, then one could say "sure, it's the engine resistance or the advanced flags" but if the Viseris is also affected, when these lines are omitted, it must be something else. I'm suggesting it's a server controlled script.

Two things.

First, if they put that engine resistance to the new cars, they should add it to the old ones, so then the *********************** kerb boosting will dissapear.

Second, what happened to that member that said "the next dlc will contain Liberty City and if not I will give 1.000 Dollars...

This will not happen, if that was the plan they would have if they even could (they can't, too much risk to alter old code like that, too much work and effort as well).

 

My problem is the overall broken feel of the new cars, the lack of midrange speed boost is simply one aspect of why I consider them broken Gaffa... really splitting hairs here.. the Viseris is the only "old" car that they broke by adding the new flags to, so your argument kinda sucks. There is an entire thread for this topic in the vehicles section, I insist we take out discussion there if you wish to continue splitting hairs over the new cars being broken.

Yep and the I agree mid-drive boost is something that needs fixing sharpish really in a so-called racing update; all I'm saying is "the mid-drive speed boost not working for cars including the Viseris cannot be as a result of the two new lines added for the new cars of the update, so can't be because of the engine resistance or advanced flags line".

 

I've put the GB200 away for good until something changes but that's definitely to do with the flags / engine resistance - taking it through downtown LS and just the normal bumps occuring on normal roads seems to put that car's RPMs all over the show, so there's definitely some sort of a nuisance factor for pretty much all the new vehicles.

Yep, we agree. I'll be the first to say I'm not literate when it comes to game code. Let's try to keep the thread Metoxys made in the vehicles section near the top and tweet at r* and send emails to mouth of voicing our dissatisfaction. The problem has caused my irritation to multiply by the day, definitely wont be buying any more cars until it's resolved. If it IS resolved in a timely fashion I will buy a shart card as soon as it is (arbitrary I know, but hey, I love the new cars and will be very grateful if they are fixed or made to fit with the older cars).

It's highly possible R* have altered the Viseris' performance via scripts on their side. They did that on the Banshee 900R shortly after it was released in order to improve the top speed

I'm not going to lie, when I saw the Ellie, my heart sank... I always thought if we got the dominator classic it would end up looking something like this. I'm still hoping we get a better dominator classic but chances may be very slim now. hell, even that model from mafia 3 that the modders ripped is better

Probably dipped out because he knew he was was just another wrong, clueless dolt trying to hype people up for nothing. I was wondering that myself, Rafae, because I haven't seen him post anything and wanted to be like, "So... Liberty City, huh? How's that working out for ya?" I'm sure we'll see him return claiming more b.s. like zombies or aliens or something even more far-fetched.

 

OT: Those flags are either intentional or someone got sloppy and left in code on accident, which doesn't seem likely, and I don't know which is worse. How can you have a racing update and restrict all the cars to sh*t performance? Like, what would be the reasoning? I know NASCAR vehicles have restrictors but Jesus, this is taking it a bit far. It's on the Fagaloa which makes no sense. Who takes their Fagaloa out and says, "You know what? Let's try and mid drive speed boost this bab- wow. Never mind. Wah, wah, wah." I guess killing the double clutching is good for Hotring Sabre races because there's always one dude abusing it and kerb boosting who takes things way too seriously. If it gets fixed, Coolidge. If not, GG, Rockstar. Way to kill your own update.

Tbh zombies and aliens are way less far-fetched then DDH and meme vehicles...

 

So I wouldn't be surprised if thats the next step of progression for online. Especially if those rumors about 3 scraped SP DLCS ware true.

 

And they can always explain zombies and aliens with "you got high and started hallucinating. Don't do drugs kids" / Government cover-up story.

We know that DDH was meant for SP. its full of clues about SP easter eggs and aliens and all that.

 

And so now that we have connections and we are basically working for the IAA I can see them sending us on some secret missions. Maybe something where we have to recover alien tech to build that FZ ufo? It would fit the story.

as much as i hate aliens(and zombies), it wont surpriseme if eventually something like that happens, i mean by now im sure we have all seen the black ufo aircraft that spawns at fort zancudo(sp), also the other aircraft that has FIB logo, so yeah aliens
