Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 5)

So if the update is indeed coming out on Tuesday as speculated. Will images of the packaged content be uploaded here? Y'know, when it gets uploaded to the cloud? (Or whatever it is that usually happens.)

May I have an explosive sniper-resistant A-10? Could be just a little too clumsy to dive bomb from angles people can't aim at, and maybe be really difficult to dodge missiles without countermeasures. Basically a jet that's powerful, but not in an annoying, "you-can't-even-aim-high-enough-to-hit-me" way.

 

I wanna see more sponges for those explosive rounds about.

 

Also, whoever the mole in the discord is, they're sh*tting on somewhat sacred ground. How are you supposed to trust someone who'll give what you say in private to mrboss of all people?

As much as I would love to see an A-10 Thunderbolt/Warthog in the game, being both explosive round resistant and firing explosive rounds would be way overkill.

 

+1 for an explosive round resistant jet, be it a Typhoon or F14. I'd take the A10 in the game regardless. I agree with HH's suggestion that it be slightly clumsy / exposed to missiles without countermeasures as a form of balance.

 

What Rockstar will actually do: add a jet that has slightly worse explosive cannons but is otherwise superior in every respect (more agile, better armor, missile spam and flares). Then 3 months later they'll add the new vehicle that counters that jet. Then 3 months after that, the vehicle that counters that new vehicle... wash, rinse, repeat. It's about to get expensive, gents, so...

To be honest, for that aircraft it'd really be needed though. I mean, that's what the A-10 is all about. Being well armoured, and having ridiculous firepower. Maybe it's just not well suited to the game then lol.

 

I don't know. If they could find some way to balance it, maybe limited ammo, or just not great manoeuvrability - maybe they could figure something out. But a non-explosive A-10 just wouldn't really feel right - I think no A-10 would be better than that. Not to sound unreasonable, it's just ... I mean, bbbbrrrrttt.

I honestly didn't expect Transform races to be so hated. Tiny Racers, yes, I expected people to despise those races with a passion.

 

The next DLC is most likely going to be like DDH...only without heists and all that. More weaponized vehicles (groan) and a few crappy adversary modes. Another business 'opportunity' is also a likely addition. At least, that's what I can gather from the previous DLC's.

 

I highly doubt it'll be about racing...they've done enough on that front.

Transform races are okay to me. The inclusion of aircraft helps me get much better places than in standard races - the moment a helicopter part comes most people fall behind.

 

But ... Well, we already had transform races. Feels like its been done, there's not much more to do there. Also, after all this time, we could do with something chunkier.

 

That said, the biggest things for me will probably be in the patch notes (unless I get lucky again). Those can come in an DLC, any theme.

Tiny Racers could've been good if they'd taken away the GTA/explode last place stuff. As straight up non-contact races I think they could've been a lot of fun... but I guess we'll never know.

The simple way to balance an A-10 in GTAO:

• High durability (say, half of an Avenger/Insurgent Pickup/Nightshark)
• Explosive cannon with higher power (i.e. full RPG damage per-shot, letting it shred MOC Cabs in a one strafe, a change that matters little against unarmored targets)
• Sub-par maneuverability and speed (barely enough to dodge a missile)
• Bad climbing speed loss

 

This would make it powerful against ground (its intended target), and finally give ultra-durable vehicles like the MOC Cabs and the Avenger a proper counter, but easily-countered by fighters and at least avoidable to most currently competitive combat aircraft.

 

 

.... Knowing Rockstar, they'd totally butcher the A-10 in some way if they decide to add it, so I guess we're better off without it.

Transform races are okay to me. The inclusion of aircraft helps me get much better places than in standard races - the moment a helicopter part comes most people fall behind.

 

But ... Well, we already had transform races. Feels like its been done, there's not much more to do there. Also, after all this time, we could do with something chunkier.

They could add races where you could drive any vehicle you want.

I'd say if the Warthog were to be added into the game it would handle similar to the Mogul and it would have explosive rounds like the Hydra and Lazer and a 10 missile barrage so it can decimate anything on the ground.

In my mind, being much more armoured (at the cost of manoeuvrability, being able to dive-bomb/dodge missiles/etc.). I don't know how well the real A-10 moves compared to other jets, but that would make sense balance-wise (they are well armoured, so that aspect would need to be there).

 

If they didn't do this - then yeah it would be pointless. In my opinion, the A-10 should be done right or not done at all. Should be a beefy, but less annoying jet. But that's just my thinking.

I just get the feeling that theres quite a few forum members in this thread that have never played a GTA game before this one. All these suggestions for more military sh*t AS IF WE HAVENT 3 GODDAMN UPDATES DEDICATED TO MILITARY STYLE sh*t. Enough. Anymore and this game is Battlefield- lite. I want some updates that go back to the basics. Street racing a cool idea. A tuners update would be nice. A DLC with mansions and new cars- a classic DLC like we used to get. These updates are all updates that would fit classic GTA. They would be nice. Enough of these goddamn vehicles that are geared towards an 11 year squeaker, who has access to mommys credit card, while telling me how much he banged my mom over the mic. E-goddamn-nough.
