In my opinion Rockstar will never focus more on electric cars than on diesel- or petrol powered ones. Sure we might get a bunch in updates, but they can always easily add more petrol ones simply because they don't have to follow emission regulations like in real life. I DO expect to see many more hybrid/electric vehicles on the roads in the next GTA, not limited to just the Dilletante. But there will always be plenty of gasguzzlers around I think, especially in DLC.

More to the point, how many truly iconic electric cars are there that need to be added to GTAO any time soon?

I mean, it's entirely in keeping with R* logic for them to prioritise something like the Exagon Furtive-eGT (no, I hadn't heard of it either...) over a classic Mustang or a Supra, or any other much more well-known, popular thing that people have been asking for since launch - but come the f*** on, eh?

Electric cars are big in Cali. I wouldn't be surprised if they add a model x and a model 3 to the game before a nice supra.

i don't see them adding anymore electric cars at this point if they only want to add the more well known electric cars.

 

so far we have the porshe mission E,the rimac,a tesla(please no more cars from that smug bastard) and a lotus.

 

i think we have almost all the better known ones. may have forgotten some though.

 

yes they could add a bmw i8 but that's not a pure electric car though.

Electric cars are not that bad but they should never be the norm in any gta game.

 

not gonna lie seeing them getting a rise in the updates (ddh for sure) kinda worries me.

 

they are still niche cars so they should be rare in gta aswell. hope that hipsters doesn't add a butload of them,would be a boring car pack.

 

I wouldn't worry too much about that, we pretty much got most of them already. What else is there to add on the electric side of cars? We have a Tesla, RImac and Porsche. What's left? The electric SLS? Tesla Model X?

I'm always a big fan of Electrics but they don't really belong in GTA, not unless they make high performance race versions that sound racey.

 

I'm a muscle/tuner car fan myself, with many loves in between, lol. But to be fair, cars similar to a Prius and Tesla etc are very much in theme of this GTA. They are all the rage, and this game is mocking current times. Makes sense the few more popular things are in the game, Prius and such, you know?.

 

But for me, I feel like many. If electric cars were to dominate GTA, I'd be thoroughly disappointed too.

I get you. Whenever one releases on the dripfeed, I always test drive them in races to see if they're any good, and nothing. Just a mechanical whir. And it irks me because in order to complete my Pfister collection I'll need to get the Neon, and it wouldn't just feel right to have it. I love how it looks, but I hate that soulless mechanical whir it makes when it's accelerating.

Bit like R* putting out quasi-military update after quasi-military update, with only scant offerings for people who want something else - and all the while, there's a bunch of themes people have been asking for since records began and that are a much more natural fit with the GTA oeuvre, but have still yet to materialise...

 

I get that more pedestrian electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf would be a good fit for the setting, but ...eh, we've got the flying bike from Battlestar Galactica already, so I somehow get the feeling that the current shot-callers on the GTAO team really don't give a hoot about that side of things anymore.

This. I LOVE the design of the Neon, but it would've been perfect if it had a Panamera V8 sound. It would be one of my favourites instantly.

I'm fine with vehicles like that appearing on the roads. In fact, I'm almost certain they will in the next GTA as part of traffic. Along with many other commuter cars. They'll never make an appearance as DLC cars tho, they just don't appeal to players enough.

In racing they do have 2 gears one for very low speed and the other for the normal racing use. Well at least Team Renault has it like that in Formula E.

The only EV I'd legitimately ​would like to see would be a Tesla Truck mixed with the Thor truck, just because I think it would be a unique vehicle and I'd like to see it pulling the MOC around.

 

 

Still, I completely agree with Commander S... How long will it have to take for them to stop adding no-name supercars and EVs and focus on the vehicles that are heavily requested like Patriot, Dominator, Gauntlet Classic, Tuners or even GTA IV cars...

Sort of, all it does is allow the engine to work in the most efficient range whether at high or low speeds, it is also the only EV that has this tech. KWF still doesn't know what he is talking about.

The London police force has promoted that they'll be using Hydrogen-fuelled cars, so maybe Rockstar will get ideas about that.

 

Electric vehicles have their place in GTA... but unless we get a map expansion with a larger golf course things will get pretty crowded (jk - 'domestic' EVs like compacts and SUVs are fine, but folks understandably get upset when they're off-pace and over-priced compared to other Sports / Supers).

 

Anyhow, I'd be amazed if we're getting a DLC (surprise or otherwise) this month. Maybe a round of bug-fixes / unnecessary nerfs etc. and some reskinned AMs.

I would like to have the Koenigsegg Regera in GTA O it`s unbelievable fast it needs less than 20 seconds to reach 400 kph.

And of course the Agera is needed in the game too or the Koenigsegg One:1.

 

The Entity XF just isn`t enough it doesn`t look like a Agera at all.

Having seen so much come over the years though, thinking what could come is pretty cool. If not now, further in the future too.

 

This game's potential is bigger than ever, and DDH did much for me to reinvigorate that too. Quite keen again, lol.

you did not say you preferred anything, what you said was "Often once I know a car, I rely on the engine sound for gear changes", all I was saying is engine note does not matter on an electric vehicle, cos there is no gears to change.
