paying $20k to defend myself from a Deluxo 5 times in an hour is unsustainable from a legitimate player's point of view.

 

This. I'm constantly shuffling between VIP work and bounties just so I don't pay for them. But when they can call a new one at their feet every 5 minutes, that gets awkward.

Insurance costs of any kind, but especially 20K a pop, is a really bad bit of design and exposes what Rockstar's real intentions are - which is to say, draining all our bank accounts with quickness. You can hardly get into a free roam war anymore without wasting a hundred grand over the course of an hour, just from blowing up your opponent's Deluxo/Oppressor/Khanjali/APC. This was head-slappingly stupid from the jump and I can't really believe they're somehow getting away with it, except that apparently GTA Online fans will put up with just about anything the game crams up their poop chute.

 

Me, if I get into a battle I immediately start Hostile Takeover and just ignore the briefcase. Dumb that we have to do things like this, but it works. Of course it's unfortunate for the orgs in the lobby who aren't involved and just want to do VIP work in peace; instead they sit there twiddling their thumbs while my mission runs and runs.

Ive blown up maybe 3 Deluxos in the past 4 months. I sell and supply in solo lobbies and mind my own business in public lobbies. Might shock you, but not being aggressive leads to not costing yourself money. Passive mode and switching sessions exist for a reason. If one of them blows you up who cares? Its a video game for chrissakes

First off, playing in a solo lobby is BORING!!!

Second, we are talking about when we retaliate against someone who just blew up our product (for the most part).

I lose my product, die and lose money for healthcare charges, then I get charged for killing him....

Again, everything you mentioned is avoidable.

 

But instead, you refuse to alter your play style whatsoever and whine about it instead.

I'd say give it until around 22:10, thats when the gunrunning trailer got released if I remember correctly. I honestly would not expect anything later.

 

Gunrunning trailer was released at around 3 pm, not 10 pm.

Well we were talking about europe/german time here and from what I know, one of the 2017 trailers was released on a friday around 10 pm europe time because I remember watching a live stream and checking the forum from time to time.

As I see it, we can get this GTA "premium edition" in two possible ways:

 

 

1. GTA V/Online with the "Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack", accompanied by a small (free) update.

 

2. GTA V/Online with map expansion (possibly also as a stand-alone DLC).

 

 

If they give us a small DLC then they've got to earn some bigger cash elsewhere - the premium edition. If they give us an entire map expansion, then we'll give 'em our money anyway.

 

I'm guessing for option 1 but rooting for number 2. Looking at it from a business perspective, this is what kind of makes sense to me regarding the "premium edition". Just another way to make a quick buck. Especially if the free update won't be as big this time around. I don't count on it being anything special.

yeah,no way i'm gonna pay 70 bucks for a small update. The update itself may be "free" but you still have to buy that premium version so it's realy not all that free.

I agree. As far as I'm concerned it will only appeal to people who have yet to buy the game. The only question is what the actual "premium" content is, which I think will be some kind of paid content (either the CE starter pack or an added map expansion). Those who already have the game will be able to buy a potential map expansion as stand-alone content, just like with the CE starter pack.

If it doesn't buff bombs it's automatically a bad update to be honest. Also get rid of insurance. Boots with jeans. Etc.
