Me, if I get into a battle I immediately start Hostile Takeover and just ignore the briefcase. Dumb that we have to do things like this, but it works. Of course it's unfortunate for the orgs in the lobby who aren't involved and just want to do VIP work in peace; instead they sit there twiddling their thumbs while my mission runs and runs.

 

Likewise. I tend to run Headhunters with a few friends back to back, leaving the last target til the last few minutes. If it inconveniences randoms that aren't targeting me, then apologies are due to them, but there's no way I'm paying multiples of £20k for repeatedly blowing up a glitched out Deluxo or Oppressor.

 

Anyway, hope is fading for further news today, but Twitter alerts are on and I'm ready. Come on guys! Leave us with a delicious teasing morsel before plunging into the weekend.

insurance never made sense in the game, in the current state, its even more senseless!

 

in a game full of flying bikes with rockets, deluxo with rockets, orbital cannons and all kind of weaponized vehicles, having insurance is more of a troll move by R* than anything else.

 

they turned off the insurance on pc, so i guess its possible to turn in off on all consoles if they wanted to.

 

more players would be happy by this change

That would mean it would hypothetically release around the time this "leaked" premium edition is supposedly coming out. Interesting correlation if true.

 

Personally I feel the whole Premium Edition is a farce. But time will tell.

paying $20k to defend myself from a Deluxo 5 times in an hour is unsustainable from a legitimate player's point of view.

 

This. I'm constantly shuffling between VIP work and bounties just so I don't pay for them. But when they can call a new one at their feet every 5 minutes, that gets awkward.

Insurance costs of any kind, but especially 20K a pop, is a really bad bit of design and exposes what Rockstar's real intentions are - which is to say, draining all our bank accounts with quickness. You can hardly get into a free roam war anymore without wasting a hundred grand over the course of an hour, just from blowing up your opponent's Deluxo/Oppressor/Khanjali/APC. This was head-slappingly stupid from the jump and I can't really believe they're somehow getting away with it, except that apparently GTA Online fans will put up with just about anything the game crams up their poop chute.

Might shock you, but not being aggressive leads to not costing yourself money. Passive mode and switching sessions exist for a reason. If one of them blows you up who cares? Its a video game for chrissakes

Doesn't it give a wanted level to anyone that does the job and it stays with them until the jobs done?

 

 

Only if you get somewhere close to the briefcase, I'm pretty sure. I don't go anywhere near the thing. Although sometimes it's fun to involve the briefcase in the free roam war - if you can manage to get the case (and keep it, or not - doesn't matter) and get the person(s) you're fighting with to die in an inconvenient area, they'll keep respawning there with a 4-star level. Assuming you can get away with a vehicle, it makes their time fighting you a lot harder than yours. I like to get someone to chase me to LSIA when the briefcase is there - kill them on the tarmac, scoop up the briefcase (hopefully in a flying or armored vehicle), then either flee with it (leaving them to respawn helplessly in the middle of nowhere with cops mobbing them constantly), or just keep circling around and smacking them while the cops soften them up. Either way is comedy gold.

I'd say give it until around 22:10, thats when the gunrunning trailer got released if I remember correctly. I honestly would not expect anything later.

Second, we are talking about when we retaliate against someone who just blew up our product (for the most part).

I'll avoid the insurance anyway by using VIP work, but it sucks that I have to hog the work over anyone else who might want to actually do it. So they may as well ditch it.

 

No logical reason anyone can defend a tank or Deluxo costing 20K to blow up anyway - normal vehicles put to the side.

They probably saw my posts and decided they had to quickly add in ultra-powerful bombs before releasing the update.

For many of us, PvP livens up a game that otherwise would have gotten boring as hell years ago. There's a lot of PvE content too, but not THAT much, and once you've played a mission or heist a few times you've experienced almost all it has to offer. Meanwhile, every single PvP fight is different.

 

If you're happy sitting in "solo public" lobbies and grinding away the years of your life, knock yourself out. But I'm playing a multiplayer game; I want to engage in a little multiplayer action. At least sometimes. And it's absolute bullsh*t that it costs me 20K to defend myself from flying, rocket-firing vehicles. That is indefensible and I just have to laugh at people who try to defend it. If all you can say when a Deluxo is flying at you blasting homing missiles is "Welp, time to switch sessions!" then you and I have little in common as gamers, or even as people. Untuck yer shirt once in a while and indulge in the great joy that is schooling someone who started some sh*t.

Insurance AND Bad Sport Point (having bad sport point for defenfing yourself is a non sense.. so you take the shot from the Oppressor or the Deluxo instead of fighting back to not have them + $20k to pay for legitimate defense.)

Anyway, all signs point to probably this Thursday being a announcement. It's not out of the ordinary that it's been 2 weeks since QABETA has been updated yet they haven't made a announcement.
