I really dont like wasting my time explaining common sense to people, yet here we are.

 

Rockstar had said absolutely nothing about a new update. They havent mentioned a timeframe, they havent mentioned content, they havent made any announcements, they havent had any leaks, N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

 

This is called a speculation thread for a reason. People are speculating. Some speculations are good, some are bordering on absurd. Some people (yourself included it seems) have somehow talked themselves into something that doesnt yet exist. Youre inventing a scenario you want to happen in your head, then blaming Rockstar when it doesnt come true. So yeah...youre f*cking with yourself.

The amount of time testing likely has little to do with it's size. They have only been at it for 2 weeks now. That isn't that long at all. Especially if they are expanding the Creator.

Wouldnt they have started work right when DD dropped?

 

Im asking because Im not well versed in game development. It seems to me at least that they would start as soon as the last one dropped, and only in the last few weeks started testing the update. However, Im not an expert. Is there anyone here that would know?

What is quebeta? I tried searching someone said its when a dlc is in its final stage?

qabeta stands for Quality Assurance beta testing. Its updated when the DLC is nearing completion to test it for bugs and whatnot (I think)

It's the final testing, not the entire testing process.

 

They have likely been working on this for a long time, even alongside the original Cunning Stunts update. They don't work on just one update at a time.

 

That doesn't mean it will be big though. It just means it's one of many updates they have been working on.

 

It takes a lot longer to paint a car if you are painting 3 other cars at the same time, if you get my drift.

I think they may include something similar to the "Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack" for those who buy it.

 

But they aren't going to do a DLC that only people who buy the premium edition can play. Most people have already bought the game twice (for Old-Gen and Current Gen Consoles).

Nothing is confirmed whatsoever. To recap:

- We don't know that an update is coming (though all signs point to it)

- We don't know WHEN an update is coming, if one is coming at all

- We don't know when an announcement is coming

- We don't know what will be in this update, if it exists

 

Please print this out and tape it next to your screen so when speculation and stupid predictions start running rampant, you can remember that basically everyone here is totally full of it. Buncha Nostra-dumbasses around here.

We know an update is coming cause qabeta was updated f*ckin twice in the last week or so. That always means an update is two-three weeks away. Just cause your dumbass doesn't like speculating about what or what it may not be doesn't mean the rest of us don't.

 

 

To be perfectly clear, I'm fine with speculation, especially the informed kind (though sadly that is by far the minority of posts). What I'm tired of is people posting extremely specific predictions as if they KNOW what's going to happen, alternating with other people having meltdowns when nothing happens and saying "So no more DLC ever huh?? GTA Online is dead."

 

Just chill TF out, everybody. Educated guesses are fine but stop making sh*t up when you don't know for sure. Rockstar is gonna do what they do and their update history is as littered with surprises (e.g. DLC with no announcement, announcements that didn't come on a Thursday, updates that followed qabeta updates by something more or less than 2 weeks) as things we predicted correctly. And if you're throwing a fit because an anonymous person on a forum said "Announcement tomorrow. Update Tuesday" and then vanished from the thread, and it DIDN'T HAPPEN... guess what, you deserve to be upset, not because there was no announcement but because the education system has failed you.

 

Calm your expectations. Slow your roll. She moves in mysterious ways. etc.

But, the current editions of V can handle more updates. The PS4 and Xbox One can handle more.

 

Also, its important to note that you cannot introduce the same game for PS4 Pro and Xbox One S or whatever its called, exclusively. Against both company rules. Any content that is introduced on the Pro and S, have to be compatible with the current game.

True, they wouldnt make the DLC exclusive to the disc, but of course make it available on disc AND digitally like The Big Score edition (Payday 2 Crimewave Edition). And yeah, it could just be the starter pack bundled with the game, but Liberty City sounds more fun and its highly speculated Who knows, maybe it will include LC, the starter pack, a cash card and the collectors edition content? Only time will tell.

If Rockstar spends months working on a DLC, why not LC?

 

It may take more work yeah, but who knows? Maybe well see it.

 

Off topic; why do I always get asked to accept the Rockstar End User License Agreement upon start so often. Twice in one day today, and several times in the last few weeks.

There's been a ton of speculation that they will continue to give us cars from GTA IV in future updates. I could see them giving us a handful of those cars in the dripfeed for next week's update. Those dripfeed weeks will fall right around the release date of GTA IV (April 29).

I do think Liberty City will either come to Gta O or get remastered for current gen consoles, wouldn't mind 1 or the other. Since R* made Open IV cancel the project that brought LC in to V made me think its possibly coming in the future for Gta O, they did the same for the Red Dead mod. Seeing this pic that Open IV showed last year made me hope it comes to V's online in the future. They could release a batch of highly requested cars from IV with the update and people would most likely love it.

Thats another really good point. Rockstar has always been supportive of the mod community. When OpenIV received a cease and desist letter it really perplexed a lot of people because it was not like Rockstar (even if the letter came from T2).

 

Maybe Rockstar had and still has their own intentions of brining LC to Online, and they didnt want OpenIV Having their own port of LC to V. Just speculation of course, but Im just trying to logically connect the dots as best as I can.

Realistically I still think they do have the intentions of bringing LC in to online mainly because they are waiting to release at the perfect time which is IV's 10 year anniversary. I'm sure if they released the map last year they wouldn't really have anything for its 10th anniversary except a couple cars from IV and maybe a T shirt.

Like I said only speculation, technically they can do what they want and people will buy it, how long has the game been out now??? If they were going to do a map expansion (BIG IF) that would be a good way to do it.

Always been one to say it'll be a new GTA rather than a map expansion.

 

But that pic looks awesome, and there's is a lot of circumstances that could see potential become reality. Of course, I'm not expecting, and most definitely willing to eat humble pie over all previous posts where discuss why I feel they would want another fresh game/slate.

 

In short, $1bn in 3 days of release is not something I'd expect them NOT to consider going forward. That's my main reasoning. But there's no doubt in my mind, the potential for GTA's future is bigger than ever, and very exciting for me really.

 

I'd love a new/extended map, there's been many pictures and examples of bigger GTA worlds I've seen, good and bad. all sots of scenarios to make it fit story-wise more too. This forums is gold for ideas, and if R* picked up on that, there's no limits.

 

Same for DDH, I can see what people mean by saying it had a 'end game' feel to it, but equally, R* were adamant the sales/player count was great. PvE players rejoiced (Though it's buggy nature would be greatly appreciated if they address it all) So again, could alter plans, as I feel they're kind of winging it at times. Something like research. I feel they just tried something, and it wasn't as well received, so didn't return. But also, it could be back as soon as next week for all I know.

 

That DDH with it's variety and some wanted stuff well received too (Jetpack, though not as good, is great to see return), really opened things up for me as to hope for more than some of the things I disliked, and felt others weren't as keen on, again, research.

I really think Rockstar couldn't give much of a damn about anniversaries. Also, they are running out of time if that is the plan. Spring update seems to be imminent but there are no signs that it's anywhere near that massive - I could be wrong (and would love to be), but does this feel like the game's biggest update ever is about to drop? And I highly doubt they'll want to do anything on that level in fall or winter, and take shine away from Red Dead.

 

Which leaves summer, essentially. Could it happen? I don't know. But I'm not getting my hopes up too much. That's a very small window and I still feel like Rockstar is too busy rolling around in shark card money to bite off a Liberty City remaster.

Yeah, even if LC turns out to be a pipe dream a GTA IV anniversary based DLC sounds very likely. And if thats the case, then LegitLeaks "leak" of a bunch of vehicles from GTA IV as well as some new ones would play a significant role as R* would end up adding some new cars to the mix to extend the dripfeed.

 

Quick Edit: The unreleased Maisonette 9 tee just popped back into my head, maybe thats a clue? R* might make and add more throwback t shirts to celebrate GTA IVs 10 year anniversary, and release that tee as well.

I really think Rockstar couldn't give much of a damn about anniversaries.

 

October could be a interesting month, IMO.

 

This will be 5 years old (The disc anyhow), plus, if no more delays, RDR2. An anniversary for their genuine monster hit here could be great. But equally, RDR2 will need/get it's time to shine. Genuinely, could be great. May they look to add their own servers (I know little here, just read it a lot, lol), and look to, with a map, and RDR2, really step everything up even further.

 

Again, just so many topics of conversation, that without knowing anything, really does add to this, and gong forward. They really struck some gold here along the way.
