My suspicions are:

4 cars at launch (classic/retro/gta iv) + 6/8 drip feed. (Being very optimistic.)

The clothes, hairs, beards, tatoos of "Hipsters pt2". (Being very very very optimistic.)

For the rest of the period until the next possible big dlc, We will have an update of the Transform Races with last meme's vehicles, 10 races at launch + 10 races in the middle.

Some adversary modes, exclusive period items, exclusive period Liverys.

I am expecting very low, in case something like this happens I will be satisfied.

This is a pretty good prediction.

If that retro car is the sa jester with tons of mods (hopefully in benny) then it will bump the update to around a 7 (very decent score for a filler update). yes i'm that desperate for a 90's JDM.

They don't have to update the game to release new Transform Races, in fact they're even dripfeeding them at this point, remember Inferno?

-Unless of course they're adding some new features and functions to this kind of races then yeah, they have to update the game.

I don't think they work on updates 1 at a time though. Smuggler's Run was fairly big and it came out just a couple of months after Gunrunning did. I don't really think you can draw a correlation between March and small updates from only 2 past DLCs in March. Let's not forget the original heist DLC was in March and that was big as well. They are capable of switching it up on us any time. Long story short, they could do anything.

Most dev groups, especially for a project like this that milks microtransactions like GTA does have multiple teams working on updates. Ultimately the dev team as a whole probably divided into squads and work on their own updates simultaneously.

This way they can keep to their at least one per fiscal quarter schedule

"Hey squad bravo won't be at the extraction point on time. Charlie you're on point!" Ehem...

They may have a few updates queued up on the backburner in case the originally planned update isn't ready. Supposedly hipster2 was planned for December but either they didn't meet their deadline nd/or heists 2 was ahead of schedule and was bumped in the queue because of its scale and holiday sales.

I work for a large software company in Texas, as a member of the QA team.

We have tons of projects we want to develop, however we can only do so much per release due to restrictions in man hours, money, time, etc...

So, what we do is we have a backlog of development items (thing we want to release) and the devs choose or are assigned what they need to work on. Once completed the item goes to testable and I, or my team mates, grab it and test it. When we say it is good it gets added to the next release.

The point I am trying to make is that, R* probably has tons of content that they have already developed (created) and they just sit those items on a shelf until they feel like releasing them will be profitable. When the decision is made they probably assign out the testing and get busy. So chances are that they have a few years worth of content just sitting there ready to go.....

Wouldn't be surprised if Hipsters 2 is the next update tbh.

Yeah - as people have said up-thread, if R* was working on Hipsters 2 proper, then canned the idea to do Doomsday Heist instead (and used some of the planned Hipster 2 cars for the DDH drip-feed - Hermes, 190z, etc.), then I wouldn't be surprised if R* had a whole lot of stuff left over (similar cars, maybe some clothes) that they might release later, either to pad out another update, or as a smaller stand-alone thing.

If that's indeed what R* puts out for this month's mini-update, then ...hype, I guess? Provided the cars are on a par with the good DDH ones (Hustler, not Revolter), and the clothes are an improvement on ...everything we've had for the last two years (:sigh:), then I'm up for that.

That, or again, we might be looking at a similar scenario to last year, where the cars were almost a sneak preview of what R* would be putting out with later updates (things like the Infernus Classic, with the Cheetah Classic coming later). Either way, this update probably isn't going to be huge or game-changing, but it might well be pretty interesting nonetheless...

I still don't think they will ever give us more regular property slots. If they do, it will be attached to a business or something similar like the Facility.

Im fine with that. I'd take any form of garagespace expansion.

They could sell me a barn with 10 slots for 1 Million and I would buy it imidiatly.

Finally someone with brain! I find it often very amusing to read that people believe Rockstar develops 3 months on a DLC. As you say, Rockstar already has hundreds of projects ready. btw, GTA 6 has been in development for years. Probably not playable, but the textures and thr grid for the map.

Pretty sure it's just races, cars, adversary modes.

I'm not sure it is. After their Earnings Call last month, I don't think we'll be getting another small filler update like Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit this month:

Part of the February 7th, 2018 Take-Two Interactive Software's (TTWO) CEO Strauss Zelnick on Q3 2018 Results - Earnings Call transcript relating to GTA: Online's future content:

Ryan Gee: "I appreciate the color on GTA Online players. I just wanted to ask about the revenue, did you say in your prepared remarks the GTA Online stand is also a record this quarter?

And then when you think about it the dos day highs that obviously launched in late in December. So, could you expect that content to be in an even larger tailwind for RCS as we move into fiscal 4Q and in the fiscal '19 and then I have just one follow up?"

Strauss Zelnick: "Yes, you're right that things have gone really well for Grand Theft Auto online in the third quarter. It performed better than expected and we think a big part of that performance is Rockstars ongoing content drops which have been nothing short of phenomenal. And Rockstar games were intense Grand Theft Auto online with more content going forward. And we did have a record number of users."

Lainie Goldstein: "We had a record quarter in Q3."

Ryan Gee: "And then is there any new content updates for GTA Online implied into the guidance for fiscal 4Q at all?"

Lainie Goldstein: "In fiscal Q4, we included higher GTA Online revenue over last year, but not as high as Q3 and there was a record quarter for us."

If the March 2017 update is just cars, races, and adversary modes, I highly doubt Take-Two would be including higher revenue in Q4 18 over Q4 17 in their Q4 18 guidance. In fact this is the first time they've ancitpated an increase in revenue over a previous quarter. In the past their guidance for an upcoming quarter was that GTA:Online's revenue would begin to decline due to the game's age (2016/2017 Earnings Calls) or moderate (Q1/Q2 2018 Earnings Calls) over previous quarters. Going into Q3 2018 they didn't anticipate that the next update, The Do's Day Highs (lol at the sloppy transcription this time), would increase revenue over Q3 2017. Their guidlines during the Q2 2018 call anticipated that GTA:Online's revenue would moderate.

I'm pretty sure Rockstar has to be realising something more substantial than a small filler update for Goldstein/Take-Two to tell their investors to anticipate an increase in revenue in Q4 2018 over Q4 2017 from GTA:Online.

Its all just speculation, but didn't someone say the qabeta was updated just a few weeks after DDH was released?

Proof?

DDH was released December 12, but the Qabeta was updated again later on December 18 (twice) and December 20 (also twice). That's from the update history on the steam page, so don't shoot the messenger.

duuuuh thats f*cking obvious, the doomsday finale interior was ready for the singleplayer dlc in 2013-14 most likely. What's sad is the script, voice recordings and mocaps for the sp dlc that would'ive used that interior are all gone to waste, in favor of a sh*tty buggy "heist".

somebody mentioned it last week, I thought. Seemed to be about Tuesday/Wednesday-ish. I don't have steam, so I wouldn't know where/how to look. Besides, that's why I said, "DIDN'T somebody say?" Ill comb my way back through this thread tonight, after work. I'm certainly not staking my forum membership on it, I'm just making a guess with info that I've slowly been gathering.Well.... I found the post I remembered. I just didnt realize who had posted it. Sonofabiscuit. *facepalms* Just.. forget I ever said anything?

and yes that is a sound theory...that they are working on the next dlc already...especially since qabeta was updated a month after Doomsday heists was released

however....R* could be having issues with both Sony and Microsoft with the next DLC as well....making me believe that we may not be getting one this march
