Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 5)

I love the range of speculation with this update. Everything from "we're just getting some new cars and hats" to "we're getting Liberty City and going bowling with Nico."

 

Rockstar has effectively plugged all the leaks and most of the speculation is based on next to nothing except gut feelings and reading tea leaves. The only thing I find surprising is how certain some folks seem to be of what the update will be like and when it's coming exactly. The information is so limited and the previous spring updates have been all over the place in terms of content (it's a small sample size anyway - Rockstar can and will break from their alleged pattern whenever they feel like it).

 

I expect nothing in particular and am just hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

 

 

To the point about them plugging the leaks, I heard precisely nothing about the DD update in advance. Not a sniff of a rumour, but perhaps I was just under a rock. Did anyone know such a major DLC was coming before the trailer? I'm impressed they kept such a big thing so quiet.

 

It's hard to imagine we will get something half as big again so soon after, but likewise, I will be pleasantly surprised if we do.

It really doesnt matter if they give us a trailer tomorrow or not. The DLC is coming next week.

 

Theres a chance they just announce it tomorrow or Friday and the trailer drops the same day as the update.

Its not optimism. I think its fairly obvious the update is coming on the 13th. They would have likely done a two week event if the update was coming on the 20th.

leakers thought that hipsters 2 was the next update,but that turned to be not the case.

 

however i don't blame them since we kinda had a hipster moment with that dripfeed which i think was the hipster 2 part the leakers thought about. i think they knew about some of the cars and since they where rather unusual than the cars we normaly get they thought that the entire update was hipster 2.

This is a sign that the new update is ready for release any time soon as it receives the highest priority from them.

That was fast. Either this update is very small and there isn't much to test, or for once, they didn't break something horribly.

Doomsday Heist didn't get leaked, Gunrunning didn't get any meaningful leaks either.

Yeah its just as we predicted after that big I/E leak. People on top got mad so no real leaks since then.

 

 

 

I don't expect a large DLC just three months after a large DLC. Rockstar does like their surprises, though, so I don't have any idea what to expect.

 

The nostalgia trip with vehicle releases will surely continue, at least.

No one expected smugglers run so close too gunrunning,if we don't get a trailer this week then im expecting a small update tbh

I guess the question is what everyone considers to be "big" for an update.

 

Like, I'd call Gunrunning a big update, because it introduced some new gameplay elements- the MOC, upgrades to military style vehicles that would have just been in Pegasus before, upgrades to weapons.

 

Smuggler's Run... I'd say largely just copied pre-existing mechanics with a new skin on them. I don't think it added any new gameplay, so I wouldn't call it a large update on that basis.

 

This is too nit-picky though so I'll stop.

Well I wouldn't say that it didn't had mechanics that didn't change the gameplay...

 

- countermeasures for aircrafts, counters for memevehicles

- buffs

- flare gun attracting rockets

- new aircrafts with a range of stats, good dogfighting

 

those are big changes to the game.

 

and gunrunning? gunrunning just gives you single player cheat codes as ammo and old vehicles with couple props on top.

The only reason why we predicted SmugglersRun was cause GunRunning had Pegasus customization so we figured that aircrafts could be next.

And also that "airfield" sign I guess.

 

Its kinda like with predicting boats right now - No real reasons, just some good guesses (and pirate tattoos, lol)

That was fast. Either this update is very small and there isn't much to test, or for once, they didn't break something horribly.

Its not a bug... it was nerfed intentionally to make it more realistic ant not to OP I guess.

I got this feeling it will be a transform race type DLC using the vehicles from the Doomsday DLC...If that's the case, I won't be playing until they come up with another DLC.

 

You'd think they'd include the transform races for an event week instead of having it as a DLC itself.

An announcement would be enough for me, a trailer would be lovely though. Trailers/announcements usually happen at 10/11am eastern.

 

Transform Races involving only the vehicles from DD... definitely sounds interesting.
