Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 5)

I'd rather wanna have an ability to move our yachts freely than aircraft carrier. Why can't they do it? It would ruin the balance of the game? No at all, yachts are pretty useless thing in terms of PvP. It would make some people uncomfortable? Hell no, but it can be awkward if they'll give us ability to crush yacht on the surface, but they can do restriction, like invisible wall on the 100m from the land.

Just imagine the yacht-club meetings. 10-15 yachts in the row, all that stuff, it would be great, but R* was frightened to give us some freedom.

Don't want to burst your bubble there buddy, but as seen with the yacht, if its big, they will only make it a static object for some sh*tty reason. Can't pilot big boats or planes online because the size is scary for children... or whatever the reason is.

Anyway, it doesn't have to be scaled 1:1 to its real life counterpart. They can always shrink it, like the Yacht.

so the leaks coming through are for a 6th March dlc announcement on the news wire. no one has said anything about a trailer though. so i'm guessing the dlc might be a few weeks away which probably explains the no qabeta updates.

I imagine they cant let the yachts move because everyone would just fall whenever it moves just like what happens when trying to stand on any vehichle when its moving.

 

This makes me believe any boats they add will have to be small enough that it takes a reasonable amount of time for everyone to get seated etc.

This is a great question. My guess is they would make one close enough with really subtle changes.

 

tbh the elegy retro custom is as close they would ever go with any car.

 

i could see the shelby getting a similar treatment.

A nice RDR tie-in I could see is a Ford Model T style car. Call it the Vapid Model B or something. Something to finally beat the Regina for lowest top speed.

The Miljet is nearly as big as the jumbo jets and we can fly (and own) that. re: yachts... I suspect they just hadn't figured out yet how to do it when they added those. It wasn't until the MOC (and later the Avenger) that we got a vehicle with an interior you had to load in and out of, which is what the yacht would have been if it was actually a vehicle. But they may have also decided not to make the yacht a vehicle on purpose, since it functions as an apartment inside. Probably didn't want to let people destroy it for that reason, and if it's indestructible and you can move around, people would troll with it.

 

 

Though, the yachts are also seafaring vessels, and as some people have previously mentioned, the waves can grow desynchronized far more easily than land or air. A large vehicle growing dangerously desynced is... scary. Beyond that, the yachts also had many exterior interaction points - the hot tub, seating, leaning on railings - that no vehicles have. I figure it's a limitation of how the game handles passengers in a vehicle not being the same as how it handles characters in a world interaction, but I know nothing of the inner workings. I just doubt we'll see anything like the yacht as an actual vehicle for these reasons, but hey, Doomsday Heist broke a lot of previous concepts of the game's limits, so I'm hardly the end-all-be-all here.

Boats (or most, haven't tested them all) don't have this issue. Players can stand on them and ride them without taking their seat, you can fit a session on the deck of a tugboat. A number of land-based vehicles can also be stood upon while moving, including the Journey, Mule, and Guardian.

Eleanor is actually officially licensed by Shelby. These guys are the official people who build them. Of course anyone is allowed to build an exact replica though. They are just the official people.

Hey Mach, O/T, what kind of Mustang(s) do you own? Ive owned two: burgundy 89 GT and a 90 LX convertible with a Saleen kit and suspension. Pretty car but the hatchback was faster. Upgraded the rear gear of the GT from 2.73 to 3.73 and swapped the automatic for a T-5 manual with a heavy duty racing clutch, 80mm MAF, knocked out the intake silencer in the fender since the airflow was heavily restricted by Ford. Added a strut tower brace and sub-frame connector, H-pipe without cats, and dual two-chamber Flowmasters. She was purrrrdy. Need to find her again.

 

On topic for the haters: to not be disappointed, Im sticking with trailer on 3/22 and DLC on 3/27.

The Submersible and the Kraken were supposed to be featured in Transform Races. The idea is that you transform into one of them and the code will boost the engine power enough to keep you moving as both of them are freaking slow.

Maybe this new update will feature this part of Transform Races alongside new vehicles that can go underwater ?

realy hope not. and yet another CS version would be meh. it's like rockstar only has eyes for that and military/meme stuff.

 

at this point lot's of people have to wait for the dripfeed for something good and even that is often more a miss then a hit. not to mention they often have to wait 2 months after the update released.
