Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 5)

I checked on steam the last two years and added first qabeta updates and filled the calendar till the end with all updates + counted possible 91 days until next DLC.

 

What did it mention? There is almost always a gap of 3-4 weeks of testing before DLC release (for big updates). Min. is 2 weeks for small updates (Cunning Stunts 2: Special Vehicles). Also, every year we got updates in mid of March. But it's kinda strange that we still didn't see the beginning of testing qabeta branch which supposed deadline was this week (according to the previous year and min.2 weeks before release)...

 

I see three ways:

a) The update will not come on Tuesday, 13th and will come later... (March, 20?)

b) The update will be released on Tuesday, 13th but will be very small and not with something new.

c) R* have private tests, a Big update will be released on Tuesday, 13th. Unexpected.

 

This would explain the rumored "gta premium", which is said to drop 3/23-3/28

 

Gta iv had tbogt,tlatd. So theoretically they can do an expansion for v, FIVE YEARS after its release. "Stories of lc" or stories from los ventura" sound about right.

I'm not one to create conflict by any means. Stop talking out of your ass and making yourself out to be this person who knows much of anything that's going on in the development cycle of GTA Online. Don't tell people to expect something unless you have LEGITIMATELY credibal evidence. If you don't, kindly stop throwing out assumptions. You're free to speculate just like everyone else in this thread but don't go around acting like you know anything.

The fact that GTAO is playing in 2017 (Agent 14 said it in a phonecal) would be the time to finish all the construction on the map. Even that would be enough for me as an update.

They found an archeological artifact in the site. Work is stopped until they are sure they aren’t disturbing anything else.

 

They actually can’t replace the building with a complete one. All the external stuff they added (Bunker entrances, Facility elevators) are added props. They’d have to drop an overlay prop around he whole building and it would still have the construction building underneath it (and the complete building would be missing in missions, AND some events happen inside the construction site)

 

Not true. Game has map chunks and they replaced them before. They don't rly remove those old chunks but game only reads the newer version.

 

They did that for example with Benny's

 

I guess they could rewrite all those old missions to read from older chunks and give us updated buildings in freeroam.

 

But I'm guessing there's no reason for that. What would you get from a new building? Why not use old ones? just like they did with maze bank. Less of a hassle.

and then still - they would have to remove all freeroam missions from construction sites. No real reason for that. You lose more then you gain.

It's not based on anything, he's just been wishlisting that the next update be military (again) and posting incoherent stuff about lester being a soldier.

God what has this thread become.should you listen to child. R * makes a great dlc updates for nothing. they always go along with it and also with the doomsday they can just add a little extra and hoppaa part 2. R* make for nothing made a sub-submarine or a secret military base in mount chiliad? It's for the part 2.

Been a while since we had this. Its well overdue!

 

I doubt that'll ever happen. The only time they had that it was almost THE WAY to make money fast. although back then we were stuck with only 4 hours as a VIP and 12 hours cooldown (circumvented by 2nd character kinda), and giving 2x on CEO work now would really make players make too much money in their opinion.

 

But sure, they could make it 2x on CEO Work tied to Special Vehicles. At least it'd get people to buy those vehicles to start those works.

So in theory if we haven't got anything on the 6th .. does that mean my contact is legit? I think I'm on to something.

Which means, unfortunately, no trailers and screenshots this week. First comes qabeta, few days/week later - the official announcement. Trailer drops at the last Thursday before update.

Zelnick or whomever confirmed during the shareholders meeting(?) That there would definitely be a spring update. Pretty sure he intimated that it would be a full size DLC too. Anybody else remember hearing this a few months back? It popped into my head because I remember people sh*tting on him when it was brought up initially..

I linked the article a few posts back. There's a lot of trash talk about Zelnick, but nobody ever calls him a liar. (except before hiests dropped) Everytime he said we'll be getting more dlc we get more. He also outranks all R* employees including Imran and the Housers, so it holds some weight to say the least.
