You have to go to the first location that is marked on your map and interact with a note. Then you have to visit 3 spots and interact with some items. Then your reward gets marked on your map.

just loaded up the game and have gotten nothing the heck? I just got happy holidays how do I get the pistol and treasure hunt started?

I tried the revolver in Sandy Shores survival, one shot one kill. It's really good.

 

250k gta$ for the 50 headshots challenge ^^

What's so special about this revolver again? I got it but its eh tbh. Still cool how they added a treasure hunt. Maybe we are getting a naval dlc or something like it in the future.

It's from Red Dead Redemption 2. You get it in that game as well if you find it in GTA if you find it ans get 50 headshots with it.

 

Fun fact- the tree that the gun is under, is called the Tree of Skulls. The tree is also in Redemption 1.

It's not always under that tree. I found the gun on a random beach. It can be multiple locations.

Which challange?

After completing the treasure hunt, youll be presented with a challenge to complete 50 headshots with said pistol you find. Doing so, will unlock $250k GTA$ and also a variant of the golden pistol in RDR2 if you buy RDR2 and sign in with your social club ID.
