Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 5)

GTA 6 is going to be out before we even get news on this update

In before 20 more people say something similar in the next 62 pages of speculating...

 

Just have to wait.

 

I am more worried about this DLC being the last major one for the rest of the game.

 

They do that, and they essentially execute their cash cow when it's still giving milk.

 

RDR 2 might be their new cash cow with the news article about Take Two investing heavily in micro-transactions.

 

There's only so much you can do with the Old West. In my opinion anyway...

RRD 2 wont have as many players gta has though, lots of more people play gta more than RDR. It will still make them a lot of money but not as much as gta.

Just the infinite loop that this thread has manifested. Groundhog day over and over again until rockstar makes the big reveal. Or just people spit balling ideas just to keep the speculations going.

 

I'm out of ideas myself. I'm gonna get off here for now until next week.

anyway we are either 2 or 3 days away from info,the final stretch ! (about time)

 

personally i'm still thinking it will be most luxurious themed like all the december updates with a FEW other things like weaponized vehicles and just a couple of tuners. (as much as i would like it,i don't see a full tuner update happening.)

I honestly doubt RDR2's Online will be as big or as profitable as GTAO.

 

There's the whole Western theme to uphold and only so many things they could do with RDR2, whereas with GTAO, it's a modern crime game with plenty of directions to take the DLC in.

Still in the streetracing matter. If a business related to it is what they're gonna add now, who do you guys think would be the charecter introducing us to it?

 

My guesses are either Lamar, a new character or even.. Benny?

I'd say Hao.

 

Damn, completely forgot about him.

 

I also forgot to mention the legendary Brucie! Well, he introduced us to the street races we had to do in GTA IV. But I doubt they'd bring the actor to GTA V just for this. Maybe they do, though. Who knows?

It'd be nice to see his character expanded upon slightly since he was reserved to a single Strangers and Freak mission.

Yeah - as tempting as the whole 'ZOMG AWESOME CARS AT LAST!' hype train might be, it's also a one-way ticket to Crushing Disappointmentsville...

 

At the end of the day, one thing that's less of a 'wouldn't it be nice if...' and more 'R* better not f*** this up' is better character stuff (clothes, hair, etc.). It's been a sore point for a long while, Gunrunning and Smuggler's Run really didn't deliver on that front (not even in a way that'd fit the theme) - and so this is probably the best opportunity R*'s had in ages to finally turn that particular ship around.

 

With that being the case, there's actually a lot of different themes that could still deliver - tuners (because you can shove ANY regular clothes into that), hipsters (likewise, plus some more fashion-conscious stuff), nightlife, something more like Ill-Gotten Gains.

 

Really, the only way they could screw that up would be ...more camo-print stuff like we've had all year (and okay, maybe stuff like the low-crotch Bieber atrocities from Import/Export). Once again, a third consecutive military hardware update is not what this game or the community needs at this point in time.

I vote for that one getaway driver you meet early in single player. The Hispanic chick that's injured after a job goes bad, but requests that you take her to some run-down house in Sandy Shores instead of a hospital. She claims that she's the best getaway driver in Los Santos (or something to that effect). I'd love to see more of her.

I'd love an update that added some freeroam style missions. Maybe in a racer theme that had you street racing, stealing cars and hi-jacking trucks, fast & furious style!

Hao is definately a strong candidate for the main contact for a Tuners update. Business wise for a Tuners update, I wonder Hao that would work. I think it would focus more on just supplying players with garages and workshops the size of Chilliad as well as a load of modifications for specific vehicles with a custom varients rather than have us constantly taking care of businesses.

Tuners/street racing is the single 'this is what I've always hoped GTAO would do eventually' update, but yeah, I'd almost rather wait until next year, if it meant the best possible version of it.

 

June 2018 for something that really knocks the concept out of the park, and adds some of the best cars added to a GTA game, ever? Oh, goodness...

 

Meanwhile, Ill-Gotten Gains 1&2 probably ranks right up there with INAH for me, so not getting Hipster 2, but instead having a big, end-of-year 'I-GG 3', done to at least the quality level of the original updates? None of those are bad outcomes from where I'm sitting.

 

 

In fact, I'd be more than happy with a well-executed version of any of these themes:

 

- Midnight Club

- Nightlife

- Hipster 2

- Ill-Gotten Gains 3

and it's the most fitting big item they could add in december.

 

i'm suprised they haven't jumped on that shark card machine with those tbh.

 

if they can do yachts then they for sure can do mansions. it's the only thing remaining regarding luxurious properties.

a bunker garage or even a peg ground vehicle work shop just isn't special enough.
