I'm pretty sure another thing that makes super cars more easily marketable and sellable is how fast and easy to drive they are. They give that instant element of satisfaction that drives the casual, money-spending player.

 

Most people can't drive worth a damn, so a muscle car is harder to digest as a result. Going hard and fast is what matters, not managing your torque or power sliding in style. Cars that are fun, challenging and rewarding to drive and with subtle and attractive design have been left on the wayside for the instant-gratification, flashy and exaggerated flair of concept super cars.

 

I really hope this changes in the future... Even if it absolutely has to cost more.

@commander. I think perceived value also has a lot to do with it. Supers and Sports classics have massive price tags irl, so its easy to justify a massive price tag ingame. But most restored Muscle cars irl (unless they have options that make them extremely rare) go for 50 - 150k tops. Making them cost 2 mill ingame for cars that are slower and dont handle corners, sours the deal for the average shark consumer. What would change the stigma imo is use benny's mods to make them as fast and handle as good as most supers. It woulsd be easy imo since all cars only go around 150mph on vertical pavement. Make the Benny's upgrade turn them into sports/super class similar to the Banshee 900R, but with OPTIONAL Bodykits n Accesories. Most ppl i meet hate driving my Mamba since it has lots of oversteer, but love my entity. Make the stock version handle like a reg muscle, but the Benny's handle like a Trans Am racer.

 

True to an extent (and certainly, you could put anything into Benny's as a way of upping the price - for example, put in a Civic as a sedan, and have the conversion turn it into the coupé, like the Sultan/Sultan RS) - and they've already done that with things like the Elegy Retro Custom ($800k conversion price, anyone? :p) or the lowriders.

 

But that's the thing: R*'s already done that elsewhere - case in point: the Retinue is a reasonably-comparable car to the Warrener in terms of era/styling, and yet while the Warrener costs less than half the price of a Massacro, the Retinue is almost three times the Massacro's price. And compare that to real-world prices, a well-maintained Escort rally car sells for £30-60k, while a base-model Vanquish goes for more upwards of £100k, with the higher-spec models more like £250k.

 

(incidentally, that means that the Massacro is priced close-ish to 1:1 with real-world prices - meanwhile, the Retinue costs 10x/20x the real-world asking price for a performance-model Escort - ! :blink:)

 

 

...long story short: R*'s in-game prices don't need to make a whole lick of sense (it's not like they do already...) - they could price an MX-5 at $1 million or more for no good reason, and ...eh, any way to justify the inclusion, I'll grudgingly take it. :p

I thought about that when I made a concept in the project helisexuality thread about a year ago.

The boost would not be a classic "boost" like the rocket voltic has. Instead it would work like the hydra's transition between hover mode and jet mode.

The heli starts in regular heli mode when you get in, but when you press right in the

d-pad the jet system kicks in. You could also use the jet system for quick take off when you are on a landing strip.The jets system would propell it forward at the speed of a regular jet to keep it somewhat balanced.

Ok since this is a thread about new attack choppers i want to put in a little concept that i thought about.

If this concept does not belong here please tell me and i remove it myself and put it were it belongs or create its own thread and put a link to it in this post instead.

 

Ok but lets get into it:

 

 

 

My concept is a new helicopter called Swift A.

It would be modeled after the helicopter Airwolf from the TV Series with the same name.

 

For the people who dont know it: Airwolf is a prototype Attackheli (a modified bell 222) that is able to fly Mach 2 (normaly in the series it flies max Mach1) by unsing two jetengines mounted on the side and armed with a range of diffrent weapons. For example cal. 50 machine guns and a belly missilepod. These weapons can be hidden inside the construction to make it look like a civilian helicopter.

 

But back to the concept.

I know that many people would think that this heli would be overpowered but i think it wouldnt be more then the hydra is and i will try my best to balance the concept.

 

Ok lets start with the flying itself. There would be two modes:

Mode 1:The Standart Helicopter flyingmode were it would be as fast as the buzzard.

Mode 2: The Jetengine Mode were it would be able to fly as fast as a jet.

Both modes would work as they do on the hydra. You could do a standart takeof in helimode or perform a rolling start in jetmode. In both mode the helicopter would have no (or atleast very less) autostabilisation, so you could do flips, loops and fly upside down. You could do a nosedive while in jetmode but to pull up to vertical flight you have to turn back to normal helimode to be able to slow down and pull up. The same thing would happen if you pull straight up, you will have to turn jetmode of to get vertical again or you will hit the upper border, lose the airstream and turn straight down. Also the jetmode would get a 15 second cooldown after turning it of but no timelimit while using it. It would be very agile (able to fly sharp turns in jetmode) but a bit tricky to fly, so that only good pilots would be able to use its full potential.

 

Weaponry

 

The helicopter would be armed mit two (the original has 3 per side) sidemounted chainguns (like the insurgent has one) and a belly missilepod. Both weaponsystems can be hidden in the construction to let it look like an unarmed swift. The chainguns would shoot both at the same time, but at half the speed the insurgent gun does.They would have explosive bullets, but a direcet hit of both guns would just damage an unamored vehicle and not destroy it (like the strikershotgun or autoshotgun of the gta 4 dlcs). Both chainguns would be unuseable during jetmode to prevent the heli to be used for divebombing.

(Edit 11 November 2017: I would actually say that the guns of the rogue would be the perfect choice for this helicopter. /Edit)

 

The Missiles would be standart helicoptermissiles with a lockon feature, but they would only be able to lock on armed or amored air and ground vehicles. Unamored and unarmed and of course people could still be shot with unguided missiles when using the lockonmissiles but the missiles would not lock on like the ungiuded missiles do. After each shot the would be a 5 second cooldown before your able to shoot another. The missilefeatures would be the same in helicoptermode and jetmode.

 

 

Defense:

 

Active Defense:

The Player will get a acustic signal if he gets locked by a homingmissile and would have to diffrent ways to prevent himself being shot down.

He could use jetmode to outrun the missile or he could jam the missile so it loses its lock befor being shot and during flight. This jammer would have a 20 to 30 second cooldown and would be able to "unlock" maximal 2 Missiles at a time.

 

Passive Defense:

It would have a good amor to prevent it from being easely destroyed by miniguns and can take one missile before exploding. The windows would be standart windows without any resistance (the original airwolf has bulletproof windows).

 

Price and unlock:

 

I would put a pricetag of at least 4 Million Dollars on it and you would need to be atleast level 150 to be able to buy it.

Coincidently, it was the last update to add sedans as well. (I'm not sure if F&F's Windsor Drop counts as one).

The Windsor Drop is in the Coupes class.

Alongside the Felon, Jackal & the Oracles.

Meanwhile, the Moonbeam is in Muscle, the Drift Tampa is in Sports, and both the Roosevelt and Infernus Classic are in Sports Classics.

I lol when I see a 4dr in the coupe class. Its almost like most R* devs are clueless about car culture.

f*ck homing missiles, we have enough of that cheap no skill crap already. We need more things like the Hunter's barrage, APC SAM Battery and MOC Turrets.

If R* adds TOW missiles and the SRAW I would be so damn happy.

As a helicopter, now a nearly invincible helicopter, I would love more serious ground based competition in the form of truly capable tanks.

Make it have insurgent level armor, cost 5 mill, and hold at least 2 ppl. Main turret fired by driver, while passenger is exposed while firing MG turret, but can pop inside like insurgent. The tank has become one of the weakest of all weaponized vehicles.

It's so incredible painful to land a free aimed Ruiner missile onto a divebombing jet, or while jumping off a big cliff and feeding a jet plus a few more times only to have them bail or EWO. Not that I wouldn't do it, it's just that free aiming missiles should be an OHK against vehicles that can't survive a RPG. Because skill should be rewarded.

Fortunately I have the most epic jet kill with the ruiner imaginable plus 4 jets with the MOC (so far) including one from 1100m away which is now my best kill ever.

R* is NEVER going to stop adding Supers. They dont even add American cars anymore in a game set in America. Everyones opinions dont mean anything to T2. They see the shark numbers grow from adding supers, and they get more n more outrageous, to justify the expanding prices. My favorite supers are T20, Zentorno, and the TurismoR, but it doesnt stop R* from making concept hyper cars. The only way to stop it is to deter kids from using sharks to buy the newest crazy car, but considering most of em never visit this forum, good luck with that. We def need more variety, but variety doesnt move sharks, bottom line is T2 doesnt care what us fans want, only what his investors want. If Muscle cars moved more sharks than supers, we would never see another super, but that isnt the case with this generation.

It's not just about microtransactions - it's also because R*'s been pretty lousy about how they interact with players, and how they gather feedback. So much of it seems to come from their internal stat tracking, and ...there's a big problem with that, namely:

 

How can you gauge interest/demand for something that doesn't exist? :turn:

 

 

I.e., R* adds a load of high-end things, particularly supers, but barely touches proper muscle cars, compacts, sedans, imports, etc. Players are left with a choice: buy nothing, and have their GTAO experience stagnate, or buy something new, which means most likely a supercar or similar.

 

R* looks at trends in player behaviour and purchases, and sees that supercars, luxury cars, weaponised vehicles, etc. are selling well (because that's all there is), and so they figure "let's add more of those, since that's what people want".

 

Meanwhile, stuff that's been neglected doesn't get bought (because again, good luck try buying anything that got added to the Compacts class in 2017!), which is most likely interpreted as a lack of demand - completely ignoring the very real possibility that said demand may actually exist, but not in a way that R* pays any attention, and so the problem is instead a lack of supply from R*. See how that works?

 

I sort of agree, only issue is Supers are proven to be a certified hit among general players (plus there is no price limit. Win/Win). Your average Joe wants the fastest vehicles around all the time. He prefers a Super over a Muscle car, Import or sedan because it's the fastest.

 

Rockstar knows this, and it's no coincidence that over the past year or so, R* have added a sh*t ton of Supers. If they ain't the best money can buy, then chances are Joe isn't buying.

 

Funnily enough even if they aren't Supers they are still the fastest in their class, here is an example of added vehicles in DLC over the past year or so:

 

- Schafter V12 (EX&OC)

- Sabre Custom (Lowriders 2)

- X80 Proto (FAFF)

- Contender (Cunning Stunts)

- Brioso R/A (Cunning Stunts)

- Shotaro (Bikers)

- Turismo Classic (CS: SV)

- Vagner (Gunrunning)

 

As some of you may already know all those recent DLC vehicles are the fastest/Best in their class.

 

Conclusion: Rockstar doesn't cater to someone who likes variety or looks, they cater to the person that only wants the best house, the best weapon and the best car, Why? because you can always bring in better content than the last update.

I don't think we'll ever get an update with no supercars. Supers sell. But SR had a couple of classics, too.

 

I'd like more fast 4-door cars. The Schafter V12 is a great car but doesn't really do it for me in the looks department. I'd like something like a Panamera, or a sportier Oracle, Tesla S or 3 ripoff...

I never thought we'd get the APC, so a not sucky tank wouldn't be too surprising... If we're going to continue having Weaponized Vehicles shoved down our throats, the might as well be good ones right? Getting both a modern and vintage tank would actually be much more preferable to me than a bunch more mad max stuffs. How about those tanks, a lightly Weaponized hover craft, Airwolf, a Weaponized boat in the style of the 3D era police boats with flares and explosive canon (for those poor naive folks who still think we're getting a sea themed DLC), and an F-14 (because I want one).

 

Most of these speculations are probably unrealistic, but it's nice to dream. I do think the vintage/modern tanks and assault boat would do well, heck an F-14 if done right like the Hunter would sell metric sh*tloads (we already have the Hydra and Lazer, so why not at this point??). If it were up to me we would be getting an entire update with nothing but GTA classics, heavily requested and obscure vehicles land air and sea, with no business or property to waste dev time. Would be nice to get another IGG style pack but on the scale of GR and SR. 30 vehicles, a sh*t load of GOOD clothes, and some classic weapons too. I don't think they realize just how well it would do...

If we're not getting mansions, then I hope we get something along those lines.

They could use Lester's factory as a base, and just add new furniture/rooms. Copy and paste it into various unused warehouses.

One type of property they could bring in I'm Not a Hipster Part 2 that I would absolutely love and that would be more theme related than mansions would be lofts in industrial areas. I think it would be a cool addition because they have a nice vibe to them, we can have a lot of garage space since they're built on old factories and warehouses that have lots of open space, and they would help populate more the southeast region of L.S. If we're not getting mansions, then I hope we get something along those lines.

 

There is foreclosure signs on industrial'ish buildings. One that comes to mind is the one where the Armored Boxville spawns in the desert when doing Fortified, near the race construction track.

That kind of update is a win/win. No time wasted on designing businesses and missions on their end. Maybe a few vip missions for some of the GR&SR vehicles (Brown Thunder!) for the sake of variety. Just tons of cars, clothes, some high end properties instead. I'm sure people are more keen to buy nice cars than fugly warehouses, and the former don't bring money back so that's good for greedy R*.

I feel the rapid gt was a trial run to test the popularity of the Mustangish design. Out of all the ppl wanting a dom classic i dont recall one person saying "forget a mustang, we need a interceptor/dbs mashup that resembles a classic mustang".

I'm placing my bet that whenever we'll get Dom Classic, it will be primarily based on the 70 Mustang, since the Dominator uses the same set up as it.

Lets recap what we know so far from R* and Yan.

 

Additions to the LM website. Kinda vague since everything from sedans, muscles, coupes, sports classics, sports, and supers are sold there. The only thing for sure is they're all relatively expensive.

Weaponized Vehicles. Could mean anything from jet cars to tanks.

Mazebank Foreclosures. Could mean new businesses, diverse vehicle storage, mansions, etc.

Yans leak about Im not a hipster being the possible theme.

 

Coupled with the fact that Hannukah updates (Dec 12-20th this year) usually are the biggest of the year, im kinda hyped......until I remember the dripfeed wont be finished until march. :/:bored::cry:

I'm really curious to see how many variations of the fetch quest Rockstar can sh*t out. It's gotta be boats next, right? Unless they do weaponized bicycles or something...

I took a day off cos I recognized I was getting a bit mouthy, sorry if I offended anyone. Looks like people still arguing and sh*t tho. Anyway, on topic, I really hope we get mansions and nightclubs soon. I don't want to own the nightclub tho, just to have another place to chill and drink, hopefully there will be a dancing minigame. I think there are enough businesses for now, I wouldn't mind if we didn't get a business at all in the Dec update. Also I am one as well that would like a Dominator Classic, altho I would rather have a proper Gauntlet, MOPAR for life.
