I hope they are just using this dfipfeed as a teat to see how people react to a dlc when they got "new" content the very last week. So hopefully the update would be early december and they actually have enough content to dripfeed instead of skipping a bunch of weeks.

That would be my guess. Unless they do it as a surprise release with no trailer.

 

It could release on Nov 28th like Mach predicts. To me it all depends what they do on the 14th. If they skip that date then the DLC is coming in December.

Well they could make a combined newswire post. Something along the lines of: L.A. Noir Remastered out now for XBox one, PS4 and PC. Also dont forget to pick up the devastating FH1 Hunter in gta online, avilable now.

It's an upgraded version coming to four more different platforms in addition to the already existing PS3 and 360 versions. I'd say that's more than a simple re release of a game.

 

Besides, it's not just about the profits, it's more about having full attention on one product on the day it's out instead of sharing attention with it on another game.. one that's essentially more than four years old now. They could simply release a vehicle (or vehicles) a week later in Online and not suffer in any way. It doesn't seem far fetched for them to just let L.A. Noire have the spotlight for at least the week it's out and then focus back on GTA Online a week later.

 

One more thing.. they skipped putting out a vehicle two weeks in a row because of Transform Races in the game itself. You think they won't do the same for an actual re-release of another one of their games?

I could be wrong but I guess the target audiences are not exactly the same...? I mean, I wonder if the lime-green-T20-kiddos are the kind of people who'll be interested in LA Noire... A game set in the 40s without any flying bike, rocket-propelled car or even thermal vision... lol

They could do a combined Newswire post like Black Dragon suggests above. That would draw more attention to the Newswire and get more eyes on the fact that a new game is coming out. It only helps promote it.

Would it be too much to wonder about rockstar allowing special vehicles as PV's? I'm itching to have the R2K next to my vigilante and such.

Highly doubt they'll make that happen.

 

1 - They hate tinkering with older functions/commands.

 

2 - We can already have weaponized vehicles as PVs. That's plenty enough as is. The special vehicles have a category all to themselves that I don't see Rockstar messing with.

As someone that is infinitely more stoked for LA Noire than I am for the Hunter or any item remaining in the SR dripfeed (or even any new business model in December or beyond in Online) I don't need Rockstar to do anything. When RDR2 comes out it could come with a free $20M for GTAO as a cross-promotion and I won't care. Nothing about RDR2 interests me.

 

Saying the GTA part of Rockstar as to defer the attention for anything makes as much sense as saying they delayed releasing the Hunter in order to promote the Red Hook Crit which gets a lot of Newswire space, yet no one cares.

Hunter:

AH Apache-like attack helicopter that's been around in other GTA titles since Vice City

 

Lazer:

F-18 fighter jet that's been in Online since before Online was available, but couldn't be purchased. It was available for stealing from the military base.

Lazer is a jet with missiles and normal machine gun cannons. Think Hydra but less powerful and more agile/maneuverable.

Hopefully, the next DLC will not be a letdown like Smuggler Run was. Also if the DLC gives us access to purchase Mansions, odds are that all will have the same interior as the high-end apartments..

 

Don't get me wrong I like the idea of the Hangar and owning our own planes, but the business itself is terrible in Smuggler run

 

The only thing that really pisses me off about the hangar business is that you NEED more people just to get more crates. I wish you could collect a certain amount of crates based on the size of your vehicle. Sort of like how getting a van or a truck will give you two bars worth of supplies instead of one.

 

I didn't like the fact that Ron was taking a cut!

It doesn't matter who's interested in what, Rockstar themselves would most likely want the attention to be solely on L.A. Noire for that week, considering the efforts they went through to have it release on four additional platforms.

 

I just don't see something substantial like this (in comparison to GTAO's drip feed at least) sharing space with something that's far more popular and will most likely garner more attention if a new vehicle is added to it the same week (talking more about the majority of GTAO's population, not you folks here).

 

Lots of people didn't like the Transform Races either, yet Rockstar paid no mind to that and didn't release any drip fed vehicles for two consecutive weeks because of that. They wanted you to try out their newest thing at the time and not focus on any new drip fed vehicles for the moment. That's the parallel I'm trying to draw with L.A. Noire's re-release, albeit they're two different games that I do understand.

Rafae's right. If they skipped a week for the RDR 2 trailer last year then they'll most likely skip a week for LA Noire.

 

(Also LA Noire is a kickass game. I highly recommend it)

1 week? They skiped 2 because of a game mode, for a remaster (even not being one of their greatest and most requested games) they could skip a month with no reason xD.

But staying serious, i hope they dont skip it and end this endless dripfeed soon. Then an anouncement of a new update would be much apreciated.
