Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 4)

I just can't wrap my head around this. GTA series are 20 years old this month, PS2 is 17 years old this week, Vice City is 15 years old this week, San Andreas is 13 years old this week.

 

GTA V is over 4 years old, GTA Online is over 4 years old, Halloween is next week, and dreepfeeding has been going on for 2 months, why won't they finally release the F*cking Hunter?

 

Not only it would have taken over 4 years and wouldn't be available in Single Player (f*ck you since Lowriders in 2015 SP players) also last gen players wouldn't ever get it, but at least players on PC, PS4 and Xbox One would be able to buy it in GTA Online.

 

Current gen consoles are 4 years old next month, GTA V on current gen is 3 years old next month, L.A. Noire Remaster is coming out next month... first "new" release since GTA V in 2013 and it's ports, but still just a REMASTER.

 

Hunter debuted in Vice City 15 YEARS AGO FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. I swear I'm uninstalling this game after Christmas and never going back to Online.

 

You know who also has birthday next week? That's right GTA Vice City Stories has 11th birthday next week on Halloween, a PSP game that also had a Hunter! 11 years ago!

I've been playing the PS4 version of Vice City this past week going for 100% completion and this Halloween content for GTAO has been yet another spineless year with no Chainsaw. GTAV is four years old and still lacks the Jetpack, Flamethrower, Katana, Cleaver, Deluxo -the list goes on. They finally 'add' the Hunter but it's only a display model month after month. So disrespectful.

Rockstar North probably hates their original fans. They're probably wishing all their fans were born yesterday so we wouldn't be expecting and requesting vintage content from the decade old games in the franchise. Did they forget that they're only a AAA studio because we supported them since the PS1. They might think we're the assholes wanting these nostalgic content requests but really they're the assholes for suffocating their fans from what we want and bought their 2013 game for in the first place. I can only imaging how casual and empty it would be to be a freshblood to the franchise in 2013 and have zero expectations for the content that makes up the latest and greatest GTA game. The grass ironically would not be greener on that side. There would be no relationship or nostalgia that runs deeper than pixels on a screen and eastereggs and referances would not be in that case. It would not be a fulfilling game. I feel GTAV is betraying many of us. Sure they could add the Hunter for example or something else familiar but the damage of the absence of the content is irreversible. I think it's sickening that we would have to even request hydraulics, nitro boost and the juicy stuff in the first place. They said there was going to be Singleplayer DLC but they dropped that idea and focus like a hot potato when they were 'shocked' that a proper GTAO was becoming very popular after IVs lackluster freemode. Anyone could have guessed that GTAO would be popular so what excuse do they have for no singleplayer DLC. None whatsoever. I don't think anyone on this entire forum is genuinely satisfied with the content and/or direction of GTAV/GTAO. The Benz would never let this situation get to the timeline that it has. He respected his fans, the franchise and the artists who made history with him. GRAND THEFT AUTO will never be the same without The Benz, He was the best thing to ever happened to the billion dollar franchise.

i'm still thinking that it will not be a "typical" hipster update like we got before,but instead what rockstar (or take 2) believes what hipsters are.

 

just so they can have a excuse to add expensive shiny things again. (as always)

 

tbh i believe that the only actuall (gta wise) hipster stuff will be the weaponized vehicles.

 

not that i want that ofcourse.

Ever since this Kotaku article happened, and now with R* suddenly (apparently) doing a Hipster update sequel, I've figured we're looking at one of two possible explanations/outcomes:

 

1. R* saw the piece (and I'd be inclined to think they did), and this is their response - whether or not they actually understood it and deliver, though, is another matter entirely...

 

2. Despite that article, and people's requests for better clothing/clothing variety (particularly concerning women's clothing) for ages, now, R* sticks with the same trajectory as before, and it's yet another poorly-textured letdown to add to the pile.

 

 

And yeah, if they don't get it right this time, it's unlikely they even get the point to begin with - which doesn't bode well for future updates, or character customisation in 'Red Dead Online' or whatever (unless whoever's handling that at R* San Diego has vastly different design priorities to their counterpart at R* North, assuming the job hasn't just been given to the same person). Time will tell, I guess...

Yeah - it'd take for the Cyclone or the Lazer to be released at the same time as something else (and with no more skipped weeks), and for R* to put the next update out the next following Tuesday, to give us the next update by November 28th - seems unlikely to me (although I'd maybe see them putting out the Hunter and Lazer at once, because ...do they really think the Lazer has enough hype to justify being released by itself?).

 

Earliest is December 5th, outside any of the above happening - fortunately, we're barely a month away, now...

Good point - would R* skip a week because of that years-old title they clearly polished up in order to have a 'launch title' ready for the new 4K Xbox L.A. Noire? Could go either way - I've given up trying to find any logic or reason in what R* does with that sort of thing...

 

If so, that's five weeks, leaving December 12 as the earliest for I Hope This Is A Hipster Update - which'd be about the usual time for a December update.

Assuming they skip the 14th and (hopefully) release the Hunter and Lazer together, I could see something like this...

 

Nov 7th - Nokota

 

21st - Hunter and Lazer (Also making up for a longer previous event and no vehicle on the 14th). Similar to how they put out the Vigilante and Seabreeze only four days apart because of no vehicles for two consecutive weeks (October 17th and 24th).

 

28th - Cyclone

 

Next update December 5th?? Or 12th it all depends on Rockstar tbh

^ Yeah - or flip the Cyclone and the Hunter/Lazer, so that the whole thing ends with a big finish, rather than 'eh, it's an okay car, I guess'. And again, I think the Hunter and Lazer coming together wouldn't be unreasonably (aside from the combined price... ), because I really don't see R* putting out the Lazer separately.

 

It's a plane that you can steal for free (or $5000 if you want an easier time of it), or can just 'borrow' without issue if you own a Zancudo hangar - and the Pegasus version has no additional benefits, other than 'spawn it at the two other airstrips', and 'the bare minimum of personal aircraft features'. Wow - take my $6.5 million, R*...

Hopefully, the next DLC will not be a letdown like Smuggler Run was. Also if the DLC gives us access to purchase Mansions, odds are that all will have the same interior as the high-end apartments..

 

Don't get me wrong I like the idea of the Hangar and owning our own planes, but the business itself is terrible in Smuggler run

They don't really need to finish with a bang tbh, what with the next update coming out only a week or so after but I do see your point.

 

For some weird reason I can see why they priced the Lazer at 6.5 million. People have been wanting to just own the damn thing for the longest now, if even just as a collector's item lol. Stealing it from the military base repeatedly got tiring for people so Rockstar decided to just let us buy it once and for all.. while oddly at the same time allowing us to purchase hangars in Zancudo and get no military attention

 

They're clearly taking advantage of our desire to buy this damn thing since 2013 lol and in a big way too.

The only thing that really pisses me off about the hangar business is that you NEED more people just to get more crates. I wish you could collect a certain amount of crates based on the size of your vehicle. Sort of like how getting a van or a truck will give you two bars worth of supplies instead of one.
