The worst thing are apologists and shills, why would you ever defend a company?

The only possible way for me is for money. You can defend company if you're being paid, that's normal. Your post is very mature, but sadly gaming nowadays is not. It's even more alarming to witness more and more demand for autocratic treatment from young people not only in gaming, but in general. It's idiotic to "adore" or "love" company, because you're using services and products, not company.

Yeah, I've actually been cleaning up quite nicely with the Transform races. A reward for being a well rounded player I suppose, that or I've been playing for four years and have the advantage of owning all the vehicles :/

I was winning too much (to barrow a Trumpism), so I started turning catch up and slipstream back on. Even so I'm still winning 2/3 races, even when my opponents also own all of the designated vehicles. I would say it's going to my head, but i have 456 wins to 202 loses... i can't help but to pat my own back a bit!

quite impressive ratio. but it depends a bit, if youre playing:

full lobbies

empty lobbies

privtate races with friends

full lobbies is the most fun/challenge for me, but the chances of winning will decrease

empty lobbies are good for earning wins

private races are mostly fun and its not that bad, if you loose

Raged: I was refering to the kids on the last page who got mad that some of us are annoyed that the dripfeed is so slow. Joelcat and somebody else i cant recall and don't care to, but you are also pretty overbearing and quick to police opinions, or better yet have little opinion sword fights and then claim "but hey, opinion is subjective, pot/kettle/black, ect".

I'm sorry that you felt bad but it's the truth. Today only the premium was changed and nothing else. It's very pathetic to see users saying "f*ckyou rockstar" or similar expressions, when nothing was expected today because the week finish on thursday. Of course the dripfeed is slow but is Rockstar logic. END

is already known, what modes/missions are double XP and cash this week?

I think it's still the same stuff; they just changed the Premium Race.

And regarding the drip-feed... once again I think they should go back to the Cunning Stunts method and release 2-3 vehicles per week instead of one. Another reason why CS is one of my all-time favorite updates in this game.

oh thats great!

transformation races are fun and generate good money, when youre a quite good "racer"

Lamar mission playlist (7 mission, all 2 player max) are easy money makers, too

Ehm .. when you are a quite good "racer" and a lucky one too, you know .. getting lucky with your opponents in the race and not those times where you have those punks ramming you off the road.

I know what you mean, but you can avoid these situations, when you know how to react to these rammings.

I don't know why R* even assume that people that play GTA will want to play rdr2 ,I for one have no interest at all and doubt I am the only one. I don't think they are considering that they could be seriously alienating dedicated fans

They are going to force you to play that crap it seems.

"We dont yet have a fixed end point in mind, but the rollout of updates may change a little in order to encourage players to try Red Dead Redemption II when it launches. It would be great to have players splitting time between two incredible worlds, but we shall see how things evolve. One of the enjoyable things about working on a project like this is that you can iterate quickly, and change and evolve plans fairly quickly too, so we dont have to be as clear in our plans as with other projects."

I won't be forced into a thing, but maybe forced out of GTA before it even ends.

Fk em anyway, GT sport it is. I'm a car guy, not a horse guy😉

The thing about Red Dead is that it'll release right on the business model GTAO is on right now and that wont be fun at all. Because the profits are there, Rockstar are convinced they have it right.. but they don't.. They are on 1/4 the profits the should be on but they just can't see that.

It is almost comical, when wannabe analysts on the Internet think they have more business acumen than Rockstar Games with their horde of Analytic teams and employees with business degrees.

Grand Theft Auto Onlines business model works, and has grown ever since 2014.

The thing that Rockstar will get right with Red Dead Online will be the launch period, they will most likely make sure that the servers are a 100% stable and that there is enough content for the initial audience to not lose interest.

Other than that GTA Onlines business model works perfectly.

Also a healthy laugh at those complaining about the dripfeed, go thank your average GTA player who has the attention span of a 5 year old, you all would be even more complaining about nothing at all in these months, dripfeed allows Rockstar to work on bigger content Updates, such as Gunrunning, Smugglers Run, Finance and Felony and Bikers, instead of sticking to small content releases, as was the case before 2014.

It doesn't work.. the game had never reached anywhere near it's potential. You can tell that to your workmates tomorrow :) and tell them to fix crew over texture ffs

I know it makes a profit, my point was it doesn't make anywhere near the profit it should because they continuously make poor decisions with the game. Credit to the original coders for making a base game that had so much potential it's resisted this miss management amazingly well. But that doesn't mean it's potential has been anything like met. It really hasn't.

Agreed with elfoam. There is so much more that they coud've squeezed out of this, even if it meant only one large DLC this year or so.

Non Funkable Token

Let's see how that "put all the eggs in the online nest" works in the long run for this company that debts EVERYTHING to singleplayer only games.

I hope RDR2 isn't managed this way.

In regards to the Interview with Imran Sarwar: Don't ever think R* doesn't know what they are doing, especially PR wise, they are allways 2 steps ahead.

Also don't write Story DLC for GTA V, off just yet.

So any one got a clue on when the snow will hit GTA online?

Based on last year's snow (long enough to satisfy those that liked it and short enough that those that loathe it don't snap their game disks in half) I speculate for snow from December 21st-25th and 30th-January 2nd.

Do you think they will add the joker face paint (demon sorrow) again for Halloween this year?

Spent on style & entertainment $35.8M

Less than $25,000, total, spent on movies, haircuts, makeup, lap dances, tattoos, and anything else in the S&E category outside of clothes.

The Masks make up at least 1/4 of that

And that's with discounts (when possible), and all the Beach Bum clothing when it was free.

It does:

< snip >

See, I don't think Mas is wrong at all on that one - the business model certainly does work, and it's definitely achieving way more than expected, financially-speaking.

Creative potential, though? Eeehhh... :/ Again, that GameInformer interview just reinforced my opinion on Imran Sarwar as lead on GTAO: I get that he's trying to find ways to make the game 'fun', but a lot of that comes at the expense of immersion, verisimilitude, etc. First noticed it with his interview about designing Heists, same again with Freemode Events, and it's only more evident with that most recent piece.

Which is ...I get that different people get different things out of the games, but as long as I can remember, one of GTA's big selling points was the freedom and believability of the game world - to the point where that was how the very first GTAO trailer described the experience. And I just don't get the impression (in word or deed) that Sarwar either gets or prioritises that aspect of the game, over just 'fun game stuff'. Hence Adversary Modes, hence the 'diegetic' Freemode activities being replaced by out-of-context Freemode Events, hence why his equating updates like Smuggler's Run to single-player content, simply because of the veneer of things like 'cutscenes with NPCs from single-player', etc.

I just wish the game would do more to flesh out the setting, and the interactivity thereof - and while I get that it's made R* mad bank to put that aspect of the games on the back burner, I can't help but wonder if it's come at the cost of a fair amount of audience goodwill, particularly recently. Can only say this so many ways, but I think the game's done well enough that R* could afford to veer back more into ...well, 'The Benz territory', and dedicate a bit more time and content on stuff that enriches the game as an interactive space, rather than just a commercial plaything.

I haven't spent that much on clothing but I think I remember someone saying all clothes in either gunrunning or smuglers run was around 8 million.

Clothes may not be expensive when you compare it to the most expensive cars but some clothes costs more than some cars..

Did they seriously not add anything today?

Nope. It's the new cool to have ready and developed content locked in the game.
