I just want to return to the criminal realm of doing business underground. Really tired of the war themed DLCs. It was enjoyable but can we move on back to "basics".

I just know when most people say a "Tuner update" they are talking about Supras, RX7s, etc etc that type of vehicle. Not '32 Fords and Chevy Novas.

Apologies for skewing a bit off topic, you guys understand how I am about muscle cars. Never ever heard anyone refer to anything but compacts/jdm cars as Tuners.

I'd throw euro cars in under tuners as well since E30s and such are popular cars to modify, muscle cars don't really fall under the tuner banner at all unless any car that can be modified is a tuner (making my Grandmother's 1992 Camry station wagon with a sticker on it a tuner)

Agreed on the Euro cars.

I would actually consider a Camry wagon a tuner car.

Mach has a point about expectations, which will inevitably be set too high... Also, it's R*, so their idea of a Tuners update could well differ vastly from those wishing for it..

It's why I bang on about 'affordable sports cars', since those are quintessential 'tuner-fodder'. That's why the whole subculture is synonymous with '90s JDM sports cars - companies like Toyota and Mazda, who are more comparable with the likes of Ford and Volkswagen than Aston Martin or Lamborghini in terms of their traditional target audience/car lineup (i.e., affordable consumer-boxes), were putting out stylish-yet-affordable performance vehicles at the top of their ranges, as people were generally more affluent (dot-com bubble, pre-global financial downturn, etc.), and thus more average folks could go out and buy something like a Supra (or the cheaper, entry-level things like Celicas, Silvias, etc.).

Heck, that's why the Skyline GT-R is ...actually the top-tier performance variant of an affordable family car. Or to put it another way, Jaguar doesn't do a cheap, entry-level F-Type sedan! ;)

But yeah, 'tuner' might get conflated with 'custom car' in general - or ANYTHING by the likes of Honda, Toyota, Mazda, etc. - but there technically needs to be something to tune there, first. Hence why something like an E30? Yeah, okay. Supra? Obviously. Base-model Camry? Eeeeehhh, bit of a stretch. Civics and the like exist in a grey area, because some Civic variants technically constitute 'entry-level sports cars', the 5th-gen one was such a solid car that it takes upgrades well, making for a good 'first project car', and from the 6th-gen on, you actually had the Type-R performance model (which wasn't originally available in the US, and so had to be imported - which strengthens the association with the 'big guns' of import culture).

Any cars would be ok, just not another b.s. business model. Hoping just to buy whatever's new for sale and not have to "unlock" it or a discounted price and another 100 rounds of fetch.

I know once upon a time the community begged for more ways to make money with larger payouts but c'mon man.

A regular dlc with a few decent cars, some clothes is what I'm speculating is coming next. Even they must be bored with this by now.

I heard there was a rumour that the next dlc wouldn't be themed around businesses but around missions, similar to lowriders. Is there any validity behind this?

If nothing else, revise the current Freemode business system, and bring it closer to something like E&OC.

After all, VIP work didn't require you to fork out for a yacht/penthouse/stilt house to be able to do any of that (Piracy Prevention aside, obviously!), some of the jobs could be done solo/in private sessions, and on top of that, the vehicles didn't require you owning some multi-million-dollar paywall property just to buy/customise them. :turn:

IMO, things like hangars, MOCs, vehicle warehouses, and anything else where there's no good reason to lock the bulk of an update behind a couple of expensive items that not everyone necessarily wants, but has to own anyway if they don't want to miss out on the update? Terrible idea. Better to have things like clubhouses (where the bikes are available to ALL players, not just people who own clubhouses), or even better, something publicly-available to all, like Benny's.

(good grief - imagine Lowriders coming out now, and not being able to do Lamar's missions, or own any of the vehicles, because you hadn't spent $2.5 million buying Benny's first... :sui:)

Gotta admit I'd be hyped for a Tuner DLC. Not so much for the cars but if it included an assist for cars in general. This might mean we could literally anchor those pesky Vans and Garbage trucks to our fastest moving vehicles and haul them across the map in record time. Seriously need stuff to make Biker/Gunrunning deliveries slightly bareable :(

I would be down for a meaty story driven campaign. Maybe just some you know, back to basics criminal activity, or let us start gangs or something.

Sir, how dare you counter a Karen Daniels suggestion with those two numnuts?

I'd rather have them than further perpetuate a boring character just for the sake of a silly meme.

Expect the unexpected.

GTAO:

DLC?

(granted, that'd just be a string of contestants making nothing but pot brownies, but still...)

Well, "tuners" can be European cars too like BMW M3,Renault Megane R.S or Audi RS2 ,not only JDM like D.B.said but yes, Muscle aren't "tuners" cars, but it will be really good to have muscle, euros and JDM in the same update..

Kinda dreaming.

How about just another car update, with a decent assortment but with some muscle cars this time. Import Export was perfect IMO, now imagine if they spent the time dedicated to the FR aspect of that dlc on strictly making new cars.

So if we have to expect the unexpected, it means that there will be no armored vehicles and no weaponized vehicles. In order for such thing to happen, it would mean a story DLC, since Online is screwed as R* turned Online into WWIII.
