Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 4)

oooook...seeing as you killed this thread with that ^^^

can we "hope" here...or is it just speculation?...cos I hope the next update has a freemode structure....not crates like gunrunning etc but a model that allows us to make money and use the new features within the lobby

I think thats why they love this new model....because players hate being in the clouds..or waiting for others to join etc...a lot of things can be done without leaving the lobby, I feel a lot of players like this too...just the whole collecting and selling crates is played out..

if its boats or tuners I hope we can stay in the lobby....I for one hope its boats over tuners even tho I feel like I would enjoy a tuners update more..

I guess the next DLC will be release on 12/12 Tue,

And the official announcement will be in end of Nov.

Noval? Tuner? Map expansions? Or sth else sth big?

Looking forward and spend my time on bombushka/ hunter in these 2months.

I don't think the next update will be any of those. I am thinking end of November though. Literally the week after this drip feed ends.

Yes I think it is pretty certain they are gonna stick with the Freemode type stuff. Idk what is next, but I feel like the days of anything needing a loading screen is over, aside from races and Adversary modes.

I/E & Gunrunning added new missions. Do you think we'll still get stuff like that?

Gunrunning and I/E have fairly entertaining supply/source missions even though I'm way past burnt out on both already. Smuggler's Run's steal missions on the other hand are tedious and mind numbing from the get-go. Big disappointment after the great variety in supply missions from Gunrunning.

I keep reading people say that, but to me the Smuggler's Run steal missions are some of the most fun for me, idk why. Now that I have done them all many times, sure they are getting dull, but at first I thought they were great. Especially the Tula one where you have to swim down to the shipwreck.

I acutally thought the supply runs in Gunrunning got old real quick.

I think the next big thing should be something completely fresh, a whole new framework.

I'm not massively into cars and racing, though I'm not bothered if next update's not up my alley - I already had a big one. Something that transforms the map, kind of like what was being said in the zombie thread (I know, a lot of people don't like them) - that could make the game feel fresh I think.

Also, hopefully they include boots with jeans.

I'd kindly take Heists or mini-heists in freeroam, or the business that doesn't require constant supply/product runs, but still is based in the freeroam, with potential win/lose factor, like i.e fight club or casino. The businesses work pretty smoothly without you, but you can boost their sales by doing activities inside them. They could even connect both freeroam heists and this type of businesses, where other players can rob some of the money from you, but they need a preparation first. Then Lester/anonymous source sends you the info that something like that can happen so you can get ready...

IDK just some of my dumb ideas.

Agreed MG, doing everything in FR is limiting IMO. With instanced missions/game modes things like zombies or alien invasion could happen without being tethered to a FR lobby, 4 years in and no Yankton online mission yet? It will be more FR work whatever it is, which is a shame, as a lot more can happen with out the shackles of FR.

If they are going to keep adding stuff to FR, public only lobbies, why not add heists and races to FR? Anything besides another glorified warehouse with a laptop (don't get me wrong, I do love my hangar and bunker..), how about something... completely new? Hopefully Mach is right with his speculation, maybe he'll be inclined to speculate further as we get closer to December.

We REALLY need something to change up the general direction of Online, similar to Heists and Executives/FAFF. These were huge game changing updates.

We need to move on from this freeroam business work model tbh. There's so many other things Rockstar could do. At this point in the game's life cycle though, I'm not sure if they'd be willing to do it. This game has too much untapped potential for it to be treated as just a monotonous grind lately.

Can we not start another Zombie/alien/other overused by pop culture bullsh*t discussion again? I also would like new missions or even better - long overdue mission creator, but don't y'all tired of ridiculous stuff, from Shotaro to Vigilante, from flying bikes to explosive snipers? Can we get a normal update without super cars spaceships on the wheels or other ridiculousness ffs?

What about a time machine Deluxo? I'd take that.

7 hours scripting + 4 hours testing + 3 hours retesting + 2 hours bug fixing + 4 hours testing is what it would take to get the yachts moving.

Seriously easy to do.

Seriously easy to do.

It's not that simple.

What about when you want to start Piracy Prevention? What happens to the helicopters which spawn at the shore? You can just sail far far away, making it unfair for the intruders.

The spawning when you exit your yacht interior? Will you spawn on the yacht, in the water or the nearest shore when the Yacht it moving?

What about walking around in the interior? If you walk around inside the interior of the Cargo Plane, you can bug yourself out of the bay, because the plane is moving/flying. Same counts for the moving train, even though it's technically a moving prop.

In my opinion, it would require skill, hard work and a lot of time to make this work with the smallest of bugs.

And plus, the yachts actually lacks a motor and a propeller, so errrm

At the very least, do something new with the Freemode business angle - instead of thinking 'how can we re-skin it to fit whatever the theme of the update is?', R* really needs to start thinking 'how can we use Freemode work to flesh out the game world?'

People originally liked the CEO stuff not simply because it was a way to earn big money, but because it finally gave players the chance to be something more like a criminal kingpin (if you're into that side of things, obviously!), not just a hired gun for characters like Martin and Lester. If anything, things like Gunrunning and Smuggler's Run are a backwards step, since you're kinda doing things at the behest of folks like Ron.

I keep coming back to the idea of adapting the nightclub activities from TBoGT into GTAO Freemode - as well as the dancing minigames, imagine doing all the little things like helping pick up guests/deliveries, sneaking someone in/out without attracting attention from the paparazzi/cops, etc. Or something as simple as a new HQ, where all the jobs are an update of things like distract cops/smuggler planes/armoured trucks/etc.

Basically, it doesn't take much to get creative, and find something to do that's not just more 'buy an expensive property, source stuff, deliver stuff - lather, rinse, repeat', or context-free mini-game stuff like Freemode Events.

The problem Rockstar have created is making the goal of GTAO to have more money. Everything is more expensive than the thing before it. It's not about doing missions, having fun, this is different, I enjoy this. The prevailing attitude on here is grind grind grind. Make ALLL the money that you can.

In order to satiate that need, R* will continue making bigger, more OTT, more expensive things for us to buy. With that comes new business opportunities to make money. Rather rethink things and come up with new ideas, the quickest way to fill that need is to reskin something they already have and jack up the prices.

We've got greedy, spoilt and become demanding children. In order to satiate our neverending screams for new better more bigger, they just keep churning sh*t out. And the more expensive it is, the more we grind, the more we want more money the more they churn out sh*t the more we more money money grind money

You're not wrong - although as someone who really doesn't give a brass monkey about 'bigger' or 'better' (no lie: if you gave me a real-life Lykan Hypersport tomorrow, I'd ...sell it, buy a second-gen Miata for a cool 1k, and be frugal with the leftover millions... :p), I'm not even being catered to by this constant 'content escalation'. And I'm reasonably sure that there's quite a large number of players who might likewise be a lot happier with 'more variety' over 'MOAR XTREEM!', just as a change of pace.

Beats being stuck in a rut - 'variety is the spice of life', and all that... ;)

@Sleepwalk I'm not telling you to buy Shark Cards though, because Rockstar pretty much suggest that. This is why I bought Wasteland 2 instead and recreated my character in it.

I've no interest in all the OTT content.

I use IE to save a bit of money if something nice comes along, but I currently only own about 12 cars, a cargobob and a Buzzard

I'm going to buy a Nokota.

I still play the game because I enjoy it. Grinding is work. If I want to work, I'll go to work...

There is a big thing coming. Transform races. We just don't know when rockstar will release them and the creator for it yet. And there going to... verify a few of them a while later. Rockstar verified transform races, a scary thought. There are some of us who made some transform races a couple weeks ago before rockstar deleted out tracks. Look for them on youtube there are a bunch of them. For example I made this video showing the transform race I made. I hope rockstar uses the tubgoat for at least one of there races like I did.

COMING THIS FALL: TRANSFORM RACES SEAMLESSLY TAKE YOU ACROSS ROADS, SKIES AND SEAS

Now, racing in GTA Online will once again be transformed with intricate circuits that demand mastery across air, sea and land vehicles.

New and strategically placed checkpoints will instantly change your vehicle class to match the portion of the course ahead, creating dynamic racing with ever shifting challenges to take the checkered flag…

About something big, and a new direction of online.

I suggest r* to make some free roam events in random timing, such as extreme weathers, invasions, wars, some emergency situation in the city, players can still taking their own time , but they have to deal with the conditions, also they can choose to line up to face the trouble with other players, fight a group of army/ zombies/ aliens, or help to save life and assets, as a result they can get some rewards(money/ shirts).

Thing that lets the smuggling missions down is no variety, its fly fly fly with most of them theres no mixing it up and if you do lose your vehicle things turn sour very fast,

As for the selling missions well they suck pretty badly imo
