Lol - regarding news on the next update, I'm guessing (and I've said this before, but wotevs...) that we're probably due another announcement/preview article before the next one, with a tease for the update after that. For some reason, R* seems to like doing two at a time - FAFF and Cunning Stunts, Bikers and Import/Export, Special Vehicle Circuit and Gunrunning. That'd make sense, assuming they'd announce the September/October update, and drop hints as to what's coming at the end of the year.

 

As for when the article might arrive, probably no later than a fortnight before the update, and no earlier than a month before. There haven't been that many articles in order to establish a pattern (and it's not like R* are known for their consistency... ), but that's about average - and besides, any earlier, and they'll be doing the teaser before they've even finished the drip-feed for Gunrunning. I doubt it'll come before then, because part of the reason for drip-feeding is to stretch out the marketing push for current content, as an engagement/retention strategy - it's a bit redundant to start publicising new content at the same time.

In terms of actual dates, then, that basically just means ...any time in September for the first news, I guess. If it's indeed coming 'sooner than expected', then maybe more like the first half of September for the article - if nothing else, this extended drip-feed does at least fill up the time between now and then, so there's only going to be a month to wait, tops.

Yeah - the more I think about it, I'd also imagine they'd want to wait a few weeks between the last Gunrunning car coming out, and the first official news about the autumn fall () update.

 

That's kinda what they did with FAFF after Lowriders: Custom Classics - L:CC was a reasonably drawn-out drip-feed, even though it was still just three locked cars back then, and then there was roughly a month between the last car being released (penultimate week in April), and FAFF coming out at the beginning of June. Teaser article announcing FAFF and Cunning Stunts was a fortnight into May, so that effectively split the difference.

 

That said, with the announcements for Bikers and Special Vehicle Circuit, the gap between those updates and the previous ones was a fair bit longer (best part of two months), with the article only coming out a fortnight before the update itself each time - but then again, unless the update ends up coming out in late October (not likely), it's a much shorter wait this time, so...

They are pretty much the same except the custom is faster... and looks cooler and sits in your garage and blows up easier.
