I'm debating whether I should throw in the towel with

Grand Theft Auto Online,

It's no longer a game I want to keep playing long term as it's no longer enjoyable.

The Gun Running DLC was the final insult to seasoned fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise,

This expensive and blatantly reskin of past DLCs has destroyed any credibility from Rockstar Games in my humble opinion,

The addition of more weaponized vehicles has just gave more tools to the trolls.

After giving the Gun Running DLC over a month to settle in before making my decision,

I have concluded that things are only going to get worse, with vehicles like the oppressor,

However I have enjoyed the small crumbs of comfort in the form of drip fed cars,

but sadly that enjoyment has been outweighed by the whole atmosphere of the game moving towards a more fantasy and childish approach,

people's hard work of endless grinding is for nothing,

The incentive to attack other players and to troll sessions has become more of a priority than playing missions.

If you truly aren't finding it enjoyable anymore, then it definitely could be time for a break, maybe even a permanent one.

They added the icon with SVC, they added the In-game texts for it with Gunrunning.

I'm sick of this stuff already, and there's months to go. Then again, I was sick of it before it was even out lol. Just want something with what I want. It's like I'll just go through the updates - "next, next, not that one - next" - it's boring.

+1. Seriously, it's like R* knew those new vehicles would be the only decent things to come out of this entire DLC. Gunrunning's fire went out quickly and all we are left with is an extremely tedious dripfeed.

Damn, you really hit all the nails perfectly there. I totally agree. The thing is it's not just an insult to us seasoned players but to everyone. R* are trying to sell their f*cking cash cards by putting out the rehashed sh*t that's Gunrunning. It's like those loading screen adds which say something like, "buy this or this Shark Card and you can buy a biker clubhouse and get started today", but little do new players know that they basically get the exact same sh*t with the Gunrunning stuff, or vice versa.

 

R* basically trick (or try to at least) people into buying the same sh*t over and over again. It's one thing if it wasn't for the microtransactions, but when they advertize why a Shark Card can be good to purchase only to trick you into buying the same kinda stuff/gameplay twice (or more), I think it's a shameless marketing business.

 

Maybe it is time to take a break if you feel that way, though. I quit the game altogether in early November, shortly after the biker DLC arrived. I waited hopefully for a biker DLC to drop for three years and when it finally did, the rest of the game was just played to death for me. I didn't pick up the game for six months after that. I basically went back because of the Gunrunning DLC (I skipped Import/Export) and imagine my disappointment.

 

The most positive thing about the Gunrunning DLC is knowing that I did not purchase any cash card. I wouldn't wanna have wasted any of my precious money on that garbage DLC. But then again, I still wasted a lot of time grinding for that sh*t. Next time when R* is releasing a new DLC and try to sell some overly expensive sh*t, I won't buy it without checking it out thoroughly here and on YouTube beforehand.

 

I miss the "mature" era of GTA Online. Now all we have is rowdy 12-year-olds making the game into a cringey playground with extra trolling. All with the help and necessary resources from R*.

Also what happened to all the baseball jerseys showed in the first online trailer? this is one of those things that always bothered me since there was literally no reason to do that , model was already ingame and the amount of textures and clothing they added later already exceeded anything they would've had before that

I have to ask tho, other than the hunter what are your realistic hopes for this game...dont say cliche things like dedicated servers or no shrak cards, but for real Im curious because it kinda of feels like the hunter/ aircrafts being added is the only thing keeping from enjoying gta..what content would please or excite you? other than aircrafts tho

For it to not be full of sh*t that's catered to 12 year olds. I'm not even talking thematically too (though there is that) - I mean dumbed down stuff that's killed PvP and dumbed the game down. Being able to buy ammo and explosives on the spot, wiggle sniping, being able to suicide instantly - all stuff that wasn't in originallly. Not to mention the homing launcher and explosive snipers.

 

It's sad when a game gets worse over time, as opposed to getting better.

 

More half-decent clothes for Quinn - I mean, it's just going to be endless tired old super cars otherwise anyway.

 

And of course finally getting some new attack aircraft (whether you want to hear that or not). Haven't had any for years. As well as making the current ones, like, not sh*tty.

so you're saying:

remove buying ammo on the spot (I actually agree with this one)

remove wiggle sniping

remove suicide

remove explosive sniper rounds

remove homing launcher

yet add Hunter/ more military grade aircrafts

Oh, my apologies. I didn't think the word "sh*t" would upset you or anything.

 

As for the stuff for 12 year olds - it'd be easier to make a list of what isn't catered to them, but if you want what is, well a small fraction of that is listed in my post.

Look at it this way - it can be some sh*tty dripfeed of boring cars, or it can be something that's actually not had much attention, and would make people happy.

You can defend against them with snowballs, so I disagree of course. I didn't exactly say they should remove those weapons anyway - they never will. I don't think they should've been added in the first place though; not without the appropriate buffs to non-jet aircraft.

 

Besides - as an advocate of wall breaches - I don't think you're really in a position to lecture me on what's fair lol.

The race creator doesn't have tunable variables to enable the weaponized vehicles, however Deathmatch & LTS & Capture creators does.

However the same thing happened with Import/Export where they added tunables for Special Vehicles to enable them in creator mode but they didn't enable them until the release of the next update.
